Tom Sawyer, an adventurous adolescent, is the main character in Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Tom is popular among children and often times includes others in his adventures. However, Tom is not phased by bad influence and he grows in maturity from his experiences with it. Throughout the story, Tom learns that living life to the fullest is very important in leading to his maturity. Along with being childish and a prankster, Tom has a mature side, but he does not realize it. Tom likes hanging out with kids like Huckleberry Finn, who aren't responsible at all.
