The Declaration of Independence is a well-known document that is major part of American history. It was created because the British government was violating the colonists’ rights and the colonists demanded their independence as their own nation. Although there have been many interpretations of the Declaration of Independence, three of the major reasons were a bid for French support, an attempt to swing uncommitted Americans to the revolutionary cause, and a statement of universal principles, which led the colonists to unite to revolt against the British.

When reading this document it is hard to ignore the emotion it exudes of a people not just longing for independence, but rather who’ve grown tiresome of the lack of equality compared to that of those on the motherland. The Colonist were fed up with the Britain government because they knew they were being mistreated. I like to think of the Declaration of Independence as a way of giving the people peace. The important document that has impacted the British the most, in my opinion, is the declaration of independence. I have made this argument after reading both the documents. I would think that both of the documents would give the continental army the hope to keep fighting for freedom. I would think the declaration of independence would impact the soldiers the most. Because it talks about how all of the 13 colonies are joined together regain the freedom that we have lost to the British. I would hope that this argument will be shared with everyone around the world and make an impact on history.
