The role that blood plays in Macbeth, particularly immediately following Duncan’s murder and later in the play. Blood symbolize fear and guilt for Macbeth and his wife. Not until after the murder of Duncan that the guilt beings to grow.
At beginning of the play Macbeth and his wife have the communications they need in a relationship. But after the three witches tell them what is going to happen in the future they start to over think. First, they are afraid of what the witches said are true, because they don’t want it to happen. Not being able to do something about it they start to have problems and their relationship starts to fall apart. The more constant presence of the blood the more serious consequences of the characters actions show.
