While watching X-Men’s movies you can never help but to realize no matter what new character join the movies or die off, Wolverine is one of the important people on the team. Not being on the IMDb list anymore, Logan petrays to audience to their values stay true to who you are, but always do what is right. I will be talking about how the producer uses flashbacks through the movie as a stylistic device, and on how it is hard for someone to think about other people instead of them self. Giving things up in order to help others is what comes to mind when hearing the word selflessness. Being raised in a single home I was taught early on that no matter what may come my way to always think about self last. Learning values and morales at
What does being selfless mean to you? According to Oxford English Dictionary, selflessness is “concern more with the needs and wishes of others than with one's own.” (James Murray, “selflessness”). In our society today, not many people are likely to be selfless especially if it means putting a stranger’s well-being above their own. Many people will not even put a close friend or family member’s needs above their own. Sometimes people find the will to help someone who is in need, but that does not happen very often. Most of the time, if a person goes out of their way to help someone in need, they will expect to gain something out of it such as fame or money. Very rarely do people do things for others that involve harming their lives because then they do not gain anything from their acts. In the novel Kindred, by Octavia Butler, Dana shows her selflessness through always putting people and their needs first. She first does it with her ancestors and then even begins helping other slaves who need her help. Selflessness is an important key to everyone's personality. In our society, we often expect rewards for doing a good deed, however being selfless without getting rewarded is what really counts. When Dana saved Rufus the first time, Margret punched and beat her instead of thanking her. Dana must have been confused since she did not get thanked or rewarded by Tom and Margaret, but rather was beat and almost shot. Being selfless can also motivate more people and even yourselves.
Loving to the people around him. Risky in situations that are tight. He is determined to his missions and other objectives. Wolverine is also honest. He is intelligent. Never punks out of anything meaning he’s tough. Wolverine is a believing character because whatever he thinks is what he’s running with. He also has his thing with jokes, which makes him funny. Last Wolverine is hard working, never quits just keeps going.
Making brave decisions changes a being by becoming selfless. To begin with, Mary from The Secret Garden is an excellent example of one who became selfless by taking courageous actions. At the start of the story, Mary was a very spoiled and selfish girl expecting the world
Selfless service is the practice of altruism and is marked by self-sacrifice for the needs of others (Dees, 2013). The servant leader is one that works towards a goal that benefits others while building character and respect of his or her followers (Varghese, Nolan, & Bihm, 2017). Selfless service is a mentality that some are born with and others must learn. The concept of selfless service is not a new concept developed in recent years by military leaders but was modeled by the acts of Jesus in the Bible.
Patience is a virtue and Wolverine had to learn the hard way how to use it. He learns how to be slightly patient at times. For example, he convinces Charles Xavier to help find Raven, another mutant. In order for that, Charles must not take the medication that removes his telepathy powers from his mind, so he can find Raven and communicate with her. Wolverine shows an official hero or leader characteristic here by actually motivating and helping Charles use his powers again; despite losing the ability to walk, not to mention the fact that Charles receives massive headaches from using his powers. Ray mentions that the official hero trusts his fellow man and has faith and believes that humans are fundamentally good. Professor Xavier tells Wolverine,
“Selflessness is simply putting someone before yourself with absolutely no expectations of a favor or service returned.”
There are many different characters in X-Men: Days of Future Past. They all lived throughout different situations making them different as people, or mutants, in this case.
When we think of a superhero film we often think bravery. Guardians of the Galaxy is a superhero film that shows bravery and leadership. Leadership should be demonstrated and utilized every day. In Guardians of the Galaxy leadership is expressed through coming together, helping allies, speaking up, and having
Selflessness is a key factor in recovery.as people give up their wants to help others needs communities are brought together. In the book, Hiroshima by John Hersey father Kleinsorge went into a burning house to acquire Mr. Fukai showing that he was selfless. Mr. Fukai said”leave me here to die” because he saw the fire and all the death and he just wanted to give up. But Father Kleinsorge was selfless and wanted to help him out. As you are selfless you can help others and you in the path of recovery. Helping communities grow toward a satisfactory future
Despite many well known names (such as Ian Mckellen) appearing in X-Men all the actors fail to make this film exciting. Hugh Jackman, who has recently starred in the film 'Australia', returns as Wolverine again. Compared to his performance in Australia, X-Men was pretty rubbish. However in my opinion I think Hugh Jackman puts 101% effort into this role. He brings emotion to the character and makes it believable. Especially towards the end of the film when he is faced with a decision on whether or not he should kill Jean to save everyone. He does an outstanding job and makes the whole scene believable. It captures the audience's attention and keeps them on their toes.
It is not selfishness we need to get rid of, it’s exploitation. “The dictionary defines
"Selflessness is what has brought me the most happiness." I heard this statement countless times from my grandmother while growing up. She was constantly providing for others in public settings by organizing events through our church or helping other elderly people load their groceries in their car on her weekly shopping trip. She was just as giving in private settings with nobody around to note her selflessness, rarely taking time to do anything for herself before she made sure everyone else was content and happy.
People have always felt the urge to classify characters as heroes or villains, however today more writers and readers recognize that the morality of characters is not as clear-cut as pure good and evil, allowing characters to step out of the traditional label of hero and villain. Despite this fact, fans still feel the need to restrain a character’s morality into a definable box, whether it be anti-heroes (protagonists who have flaws), anti-villains (villains with heroic goals or virtues), or the classic heroes and villains. Yet debates arise amongst fans when a character’s morality does not clearly fit under one label, especially when their morality does not match their literary function in the story. A prime example of this conflict can be witnessed within the X-Men fandom.

Generosity is another belief of mine in which it becomes embodied in the way I live because I’m blessed having to grow up without lacking anything. Whenever I wanted something, I could head over to the store and purchase that item without having to worry about money being an issue. As I grew up, I noticed that not everyone has that kind of luxury in their life, I’ve known many people in my middle and high school
