We are all interconnected
Yehuda Berg said once:’’ Every little action creates an effect: We are all interconnected.’’ The ecological thought by Timothy Morton shows that everything on earth is interconnected. Every choose that you make will have an impact on something else. An example of this book that can apply to everyday life is soccer.
Timothy Morton was born 19 June 1968. He is a Professor and Chair of English at Rice University. Morton is an explorer and also a member of object-oriented thought and ecological studies. He wrote one of the famous books in 2014, the ecological thought. A book that shares a connection that penetrates all dimensions of life. It took an example from art to share his message about global warming to the world

If the wind is too high, the ball will have more curve if not, the will go to the place you throw it. We can master those skills by feeling the wind. If you don’t feel it, you won’t know where does the ball go. At the time the ball is in the air, you cannot control it anymore. It will follow the wind and also the force of gravity. That’s why you need to have the vision and sensation when you shoot a ball. There is no lucky shot if you become a master of the wind. The most spectacular thing in soccer is to see a player curving a soccer ball into the net. Many fans will choose Roberto Carlos and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best free kick specialist because of his incredible techniques in dipping and bend the ball. Soccer players make it possible do this by applying physics skills. The ball is a projectile that is flying through the air with an initial velocity. The reason the ball curves are because the kicker kicks that ball at a specified angle and speed. At the time the ball is in the air, it is the air that is bending the ball. Pro-soccer players will usually kick the ball and add a little spin on it to neglect as much air resistance as possible. But in a free kick, which is 18 to 30 meters away from the goal, players would want air resistance because the air will curve and bend the ball in a way to trick the goalkeeper. It might sound easy, but it is pretty tough. Players must hit the soccer ball with a …show more content…
Cristiano Ronaldo states that before you shoot the ball, always look for flat space, because you will feel more comfortable when you apply power to the ball. If the field is not flat, your foot will have more chance to hit the ground instead the ball. The ball will keep bouncing, and you will have a high percentage of missing it. Vision is one of the most skill that makes you score. We need it for a good pass, to score, to defend, and to be in the right position. To get a great vision, we have to be a focus on what you are doing, and also to be ready to take risks. For example, if the ball is the air, you should picture where the ball will fall on the ground. Follow the ball, feel the wind, get a great view of your opponent, and space. Not following one of those, you will get injured and missed an opportunity to score. Speed also help a lot, the ball won’t wait for you, in that case, you have to go at the same speed as the ball goes. The air and water can also affect your performance. Don’t have energy equal to no endurance, and no endurance is similar to stay on the bench. Controlling the breath and the energy is not something that is easy to do. We need to practice respiratory system and running exercise, that allow us to conserve energy by not wasting them.
I think that soccer shares a link with the ecological thought by Timothy Morton. In the book, Timothy states that human and the environment are interconnected.
With the establishment of soccer in England, and its growth across the globe, the impact of the sport could be seen on the many different countries that played it. Take the Ivory Coast for example. This is a country that was in civil war until its team qualified in October 2005 for the 2006 World Cup, after which its captain, on behalf of the team, asked for the country to come together and was fairly successful as the country’s president resumed peace talks with the opposition and eventually had a deal in place (Cahill). Here the ability of soccer to bring a nation together, as well as literally stop a war, is seen. The ambitions of the nation become more important than the separate goals of the individuals, acting as a cohesive agent. Another advantageous impact that soccer has on nations is its contributions to the economy. An excellent example of a positive economic impact
All over the world, soccer is the main reason how some social classes, religion, and ethnicity are today. Foer believes soccer is everything and it can decide how a country does in politics and economics for years to come.
If you play soccer, you have to practice in order to win, just like any other sport. When playing a game, you need to do moves that you have practiced, to get past the other teams defense and score a goal, and you also have to teach yourself mentally to think before you react. If you have the ball, you can’t just kick it randomly and hope to score, you have to think of your other teammates and work with them to get the ball up the field. Another part of soccer that is very critical is passing. You have to pass the ball and develop new techniques and ways to control how the game is played.
The environmental issues are one of the most overwhelming issues of today due to the consequences of global warming and climate changes. Given with the global environmental concerns at hand ,various aspects of the human activities has been scrutinized, from economic, social, scientific, technological, academic, medical, social, political, and social aspects. One of the interactions in the human dynamics that has been associated with environment, where its consequences and impacts are scrutinized and assessed, is the sports. Sport is one of the biggest sources of enjoyment and recreation for billions of people around the world. While there are some that actively participate in various sports, majority of the people around the globe serve as spectators of these events. However, the love of man to sports is coupled with consequences and responsibilities.
More than 270 million people play soccer around the world soccer is one of the most popular sports in Europe and America it is said that the early growth in England. It is a sport that has two teams and eleven people on each team kicking a sphere ball. The goal keeper is the only player to touch the ball with his hand or arm in the penalty area if a player touch's it with his hand in the penalty area it’s a indirect free kick but if it is a tackle inside the box it’s a penalty and if you tackle outside the box it is a normal free kick which lots of people score. Soccer has been played for many years now.
Soccer requires combined efforts of communication and team work to achieve a common goal. In many aspects of life this structure applies. Using strategy and tactic can lead to new opportunities, whether is an open gap for a pass or a job promotion at work. Soccer is now the seemingly more logical choice when analyzing its similarities to
Soccer is a popular sport played all over the world. Even though it has only been popular in the United States for the past 30 years, soccer has been a long time favorite most everywhere else. The sport dates back to the Egyptians, who played games involving the kicking of a ball. Now, the sport has grown to a global pastime, including men’s and women’s teams, and the World Cup (which is played every four years).
The first song that serves as a musical tribute is “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi. This song accurately describes the personality of one of the main characters in State of Fear, George Morton. Morton is a well known millionaire and an avid supporter of an organization known as the National Environmental Research Fund, also known as NERF. When one of Morton’s friends, NERF founder Nicholas Drake, calls Morton’s lawyer and asks about the state of his mental health and whether or not he will be attending an important fundraiser, the true colors of George Morton begin to show: “”I want you to promise me you’ll deliver him.” “Nick,” Evans said. “George does what he wants.” “That’s what I’m afraid of.”” (Crichton 134). This shows that George Morton may
Since its conception, soccer continues to dominate the global sports scene. As of 2015, 265 million people play soccer in the world. This widely known game was invented two centuries ago in England and quickly became one of the most popular sports in the world. Soccer is also exceptionally influential in the political world. The sport has the capability to spark war and bring peace to entire nations. Along with its effects on the political world, soccer is also a considerable part of many cultures. The daily lives of people culturally and politically would be vastly different if it weren’t for the major influence of soccer.
There are two other ways the ball can curve and those are up and down like when you kick the ball from the bottom making it spin upwards the ball is gonna curve up sending the ball flying in the air and when the ball is in the air and you go in for a volley kicking the ball making it spin downward the ball is going to go down also known as dip. There is also such a thing as a shoot with no spin in soccer which is unpredictable known as a knuckleball. The knuckleball because of no spin gets turbulence which like I said is unpredictable on where the balls direction will be. One of the most famous uses of a curveball is Roberto Carlos free kick shot for the brazilian national team where the kick left goalkeeper Fabien Barthez perplexed, as the ball apparently was headed to the corner flag. However, it curved back, glanced the edge of the post, and stopped only when it hit the
Soccer (Football) is the most popular and fastest growing sport in the world. Over 240 million people play it regularly around the world. However, most people only get to view one side of soccer in their lifetime. They never get a glimpse of it in any other setting. For many people soccer is a very competitive organized sport. For others it is an everyday, fun activity. In some countries, soccer is their life, while in others it is just a sport. For those of you that don’t know, soccer is a sport where the objective is to score goals by kicking a ball into the other teams goal. It is a mix of offense and defense, with very fast paced action. You are allowed to use any body part except your hands and elbows. Soccers first appearance traces back to 3000 years ago in ancient China. But, the first modern version of soccer originates from Victorian England. Since then, soccer has spread around the world to the point where almost every country plays some form of it. I am going to address how it is different around the world and the reasons for this.
Research shows that soccer is the world’s most popular sport. Many people might not realize that soccer is the most important sport played in the world. Billions of people watch the telecasted national teams from countries around the globe compete for the World Cup. The history of
The distance that you are able to kick the ball can be summed up with the equation for distance, d=RT, distance equals rate multiplied by the time. So speed and time are both very important when kicking the ball because it directly affects the distance. Soccer players vary the distances that they want to kick the ball. Skilled players can estimate very quickly how fast to make the ball move to make it go where they need it to. Before learning this equation in physics I just thought you kicked the ball, but now I know that when this equation is applied to soccer it means so much more. Soccer players can use this to help them judge how hard and fast they need to be able to kick the ball to make it go a certain distance. This is just another example of how physics, the small details, can be used to improve ones soccer skills.
Kicking a ball is a fundamental movement that most individuals have learned to do since taking their first steps. However, kicking in the sport of soccer is the single most important aspect of the game. The success of the team derives heavily on proper technique and form of each player on the field. Good technique will not only increase the quality of the game
Through Ball Passing – is a very useful type of pass used in soccer used to split the opponent’s defense. The player passing aims to strike the ball it with enough force and accuracy to travel in the space between the opposing team’s defenders to be met by behind the defenders by a sprinting teammate (See Figure 8:9: /qjkzcpy).Through passing takes a lot of practice because players need to know where to strike the ball as well as to determine the angle of the pass for different situations. A successful through pass is dependent on the passing player’s strength and accuracy as well as the pace and acceleration of the defenders and the player receiving the pass. It is also dependent on the condition of the filed because a field with puddles of
