In Source I, the reader is presented with a picture that displays Transnational Companies (TNCs) dressed up as their symbols running out of a schoolhouse while chasing a group of what appears to be terrified students. Above them in the sky, there are planes dropping TV sets and cans of Pepsi. The message that is intended to get across in this source is the negative impacts of economic globalization in the world through the heavy influence of TNCs. This is depicted in many ways, one of them through the TNCs, by looking at their faces one can assume that they have a trick up their sleeve and are in the process of doing something atrocious. They also have their arms wide open which symbolizes that they are open to new consumers and

The world has seen a huge rise in the number of Transnational Corporations. Since the 1970s the number of TNCs has risen from 7,000 to over 60,000. To begin with, around 95%
Source III’s perspective is the view that because of globalization, specifically Americanization (to absorb or assimilate into American culture), transnational corporations (any corporation that is registered and operates in more than one country at a time) have become a dominant part of global culture. This source describes this as a negative consequence of globalization. The heading “Problems of Globalization”, clearly shows that the source is trying to convey a negative aspect of globalization. This can be interpreted by examining the political cartoon; the family of three each talks about the different places they’ve been and yet they have all purchased merchandise from American companies. This is possible through the fact that American transnationals have spread all across the globe and have taken up monopolies (the exclusive possession or control of the supply or trade in a commodity or service) on certain industries. This source probably feels this way because of the basic principle of economies of scale (the cost advantage that arises with increased output of a product). As a transnational becomes larger it expands to different countries and the local small businesses stand no chance of competing with wealthy transnational corporations. In this way, business is crushed and transnationals become a staple of global culture.
International bribery is a highly important activity that occurs between corporations and governments. As a result of globalization the world has become far more interconnected and as a result of that interconnectedness it has become easier for corporations to engage in activities such as bribery or corruption. The video dicussed how corporations engage in bribery so that they can obtain jobs in the regions that they engage in business. As a result of globalization businesses have a greater capability of engaging in business around the world. Furthermore other than increasing their ability to engage in business, globalization also infleunces how the world views business.
I feel that transnational cooperation’s have had a large impact on globalisation. A transnational corporation (Multinational Corporation) TNC is a corporation or enterprise that manages production establishments or delivers services in at least two countries such as Coca Cola and Nike. Very large multinationals have budgets that exceed those of many countries. Multinational corporations can have a powerful influence in international relations and local economies and play an important role in globalisation. I feel that the economy is the most significant motivating force
In the event that we take a gander at figure one on the past page, we can see this by analyzing an artist's delineation of offshore outsourcing. This astute representation proposes that if an organization does not utilize offshore outsourcing that organization may fall flat. This is noted by the exemplified manufacturing plant holding a sign that says, "China or forgets about it." Pepito composers that some say outsourcing helps organizations

With the progression of globalization, commodities can be transferred to all over the world. That people from different countries can purchase the same products is no longer a dream, that also lead to the similarity between countries. Personally, I strongly believe that the development brings more negative influence to local communities than the positive ones.
After reading the PPT. file and watched Globalization pro and con video, I saw that both of the globalization and TNC's, can be good or bad.
The term of Transnational Corporation (TNC), as its name suggests, is a reference to a firm whose influence is not limited to a single nation. “A transnational corporation is a firm that has the power to coordinate and control operations in more than one country” (Dicken, 2011, p. 110). This influence can take many forms such as subsidiaries or production facilities in other countries, but ownership is not mandatory for a corporation to have sway in another country. A TNC could gain power in a country other than its home through connections to suppliers or through the act of outsourcing (Stevis, Transnational Corporations, 2013).
There are many ways to look at and understand modern globalization. In general terms, globalization means that the world, as a whole, is leading to a more utopian society, meaning that the globe is become very interconnected and similarities are growing between different regions and cultures of the world. Globalization is a phenomenon that has been evolving since before 10,000 B.C. This constant evolution can cause many problems, but it can also solve many issues positively as well. Development of any country, however, seems to be a key issue when discussing globalization. Globalization and development present two different factors in the world today. Many countries are lacking in their own development while the world around them is becoming more developed and globalized. Globalization hinders development because with globalization, less developed countries depend on more developed countries to help them to sustainability and self-reliance.
Transnationalism as an economic process which involves the global reorganization of the production process, in which various stages of the production of any product can occur in various countries, typically with the aim of minimizing costs. Economic transnationalism could also be known as Globalization. Multinational corporations could be seen as a form of transnationalism since in those they seek to minimize costs, and hence maximize profits, by organizing their operations in other countries by expanding borders and giving opportunities to people from all around the world who then later, interact with each other through work. However, I think the most interesting space for discussing transnational cultural practice is in the realm of technology. The world grows smaller as modes and types of communication become faster, more efficient and more easily accessible globally. For example, WebEx and even Facebook is in many ways a transnational cultural meeting space where people from different nations, groups or cultures are all updating status, liking and scrolling together.
As transnational corporations (TNCs) grow more powerful than some nations and dominate the world market, governments favor neoliberal policies. Neoliberalism, a movement toward less government involvement in the regulation of markets, illustrates the push for open markets and free trade by core countries. (Knox, 299) Since the core countries already gained wealth and power, they possess the means to adopt neoliberal policies without the fear of being exploited. Without state intervention, the TNCs form monopolies and outsource labor to the cheapest bidder without concern for the factory conditions. Therefore, many argue abandoning social goals and standards leads to profitability for businesses. (Knox, 299). Others claim making the markets open and free improves political and social relations between nations. Although businesses are able to make a larger profit without governmental standards, neoliberalism causes deregulation of industry and factories, creating problems for the future generations.
The author expresses the adverse belief through visuals. Many of the characters and logos in the pictures are easily identifiable and really shows how much exposure society has had of these major corporations. From the weaponry and the endless line of characters you can tell that these corporations have gained power over the people through globalization and that their basically unstoppable because of all the power they have. These corporations don’t work with the people as much as they work with each other to get the most of globalization. The Cartoonist is saying that major corporations are becoming so big that they require more land for more resources, and this downgrade of resources will cause extinction to all useful materials for company purposes. Globalization is homogenizing people to the point where they look alike, where diversity no longer exists. The boats, planes, and ships show major advancement in technology but for own selfish
Up to now the literature review has given an insight into the concept of globalization, and the understanding of several academics in the light of how this phenomenon developed over the years. It is then essential to cover what the economic benefits of globalization are, and how these may impact a sector or company. Most of the literature study’s that have been written on the economic benefits of globalization have been after 2006. The reason is because the studies used the globalization index which was created by Dreher (2006) then further developed by Dreher (2008) again. Many of the empirical studies used this index as indicator as a base to form their findings.
