Has America changed in regards to equality for all citizens since The Great Depression? Ethnicity, also known as racism, have been an impact in our society in the past and is probably still an impact in today’s society. As for an example, recently the Ferguson case in Ferguson, Missouri, where a black teenager, named Michael Brown, who was 18 years old was shot by a white police officer, named Darren Wilson, who is 28 years old because Brown was told to move and look at the officer, in which the police officer, Wilson, then shot him several times. To sum up if America has changed for equality, it hasn’t for the racism toward the blacks. For example, segregation has been an impact between the blacks and the whites. This shows that segregation now that blacks and whites could be able to go to school and sit on the same bus. Furthermore, another important fact about racist is that blacks and whites could now be in a room together. This shows that at the Tom Robinson’s trial, Scout and Jem were able to sit with Calpurnia in the courthouse. This is important because Scout and Jem were sitting at the “colored balcony” with Rev. Sykes.
More importantly, ethnicity has been an impact in our lifetime. To illustrate, in the article about the Ferguson, racism is an important role. It shows that it was similar to the novel “To Kill A Mockingbird,” of the blacks and whites against each other. Mr. Barack Obama states, “communities of colors aren’t just making this up,” meaning that colored people are not just giving advice to where they want to cause problems, but saying how something felt can be touched as a hard situation to loved ones. Consequently, this case on the Ferguson expresses the life of a Michael Brown’s death and the way his skin colored
