Dylan et al, We have developed general arrangement plans for Tollcross Burn and feel we are now in a position to receive some input from your team and our landscape architects. These drawings show the new Tollcross Burn alignment and full extent of daylighting works within Sandyhills Park. We will follow up this issue with a briefing note to outline our design in more detail. In the meantime, here is a quick brief of our approach. The proposals are generally split into three zones: • The downstream zone extending from Balbeggie Street westwards. • The middle zone to the rear of the shops east of Balbeggie Street. • The upstream zone adjacent to Lochay Street. Scheme Options Review A typical section detailing the projected channel profile is shown in figure 2.1 below. The main channel is …show more content…
These include but are not limited to the following:- • Drainage Survey to confirm invert levels/pipe diameters. The scope of works are in the process of being tendered. • Ground Investigation works to confirm existing ground conditions • Ground Penetrating Radar Survey to highlight existing utilities which may be present, where possible • Validation that the concept designs/proposals deliver the required attenuation – to be validated through detailed drainage modelling We believe the design at this stage gives your team a good base to provide some input which will help finalise our stage 3 design. I have also included some rendering images that I’ve taken from our 3D model. Hopefully this helps visualise our design. It would be good to meet up and discuss these proposals with all those involved from AECOM. Would you be available on Tuesday the 30th for a meeting? I’m going to be on annual leave from next Friday however Calum Nicolson and Andrew Lindsay will be available in my

My goal for what i want to do is to be able to help other burn survivors. And i will do anything to be able to do that. I want to give back to others and i know how it feels to go through the same thing. I want to let them know that they're not alone and that there are people who care and will be there whenever they need someone.
Associated activities may include installing drainage systems, grading slopes, ditching for storm drainages, and conduits for service utilities. The disturbance of natural patterns of runoff and rainwater infiltration through modified drainage can lead to the concentration of water flow at sites that previously only took direct rainwater infiltration; this can result in rapid forming cover-subsidence sinkholes (Waltham et al, 2005, p. 159). The many impervious surfaces used in modified drainage activities also impedes groundwater recharge, which can consequently lower the water
Site drainage management is aim to safeguard the house inhabitants and protect the house from several damage cause by surface water and both internal and external inappropriate moisture (Master builders, 2009).
Two police officers in Canada were driving when they saw a deer jump in front of them. The officers investigated the incident, and they noticed that the deer did not survive the accident. They also noticed that the deer was pregnant, and the fawn inside of her was trying to kick its way out.
In addition to the development and maintenance of the Four Mile Run Watershed Model, NVRC staff supported local jurisdictions with many hydrologic and hydraulic analyses related to flood control and drainage issues. These analyses include different flood frequency analyses, submission of flood frequency analysis results to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), enhancement and maintenance of the Lower Four Mile Run HEC-RAS model, evaluation of hydraulic impacts of the proposed pedestrian/cyclist bridge on the water surface elevation in the lower Four Mile Run, hydraulic assessment of the Four Mile Run Restoration Project conditions, coordination with USGS regarding the maintenance of the two flow gages on Four Mile Run and the development of Long Branch HEC-RAS model.
Lincoln County fire departments responded to a fire in a mobile home at 1665 Wagner Bridge Road in Waldoboro during the early morning hours of Friday, April 22.
Political Science Introduction Political science has emerged as one of the most popular subjects for students to study. Political science is widely considered to be the definition of government and other politics, and the consequences of this involvement. This paper will explore the implications of political behavior and the role of government, and compare these issues in the context of one key political event: the day the Triangle Shirtwaist Company caught fire and burned to the ground. Problems
A traumatic event that happened was when there was a fire. I remember that the fire was just a mile from our house and that we would have to evacuate. My family I loaded the car as fast as we could. We packed as much as we could and everyone else in the neighborhood were also packing and moving out. We moved out, but got stuck in traffic. The fire was literally behind us, burning acres of grass and forests. My sister had asthma, and so she had to fight it off by constantly coughing and such for she didn’t have her inhaler. She coughed all the way until we had gotten to safety and she had gotten an inhaler. I remembered leaving my pet dog, Penn at home, and so I rushed back by myself to let him out. Fire was right near the house, and I tried
Site visit & Scope of Work Development: Projects will undergo a healthy and safety inspection by NHS Construction Specialists, who will then assist the homeowner in developing a scope of work for property rehabilitation, including addressing health and safety concerns arising from the inspection.
Development of I&I business case specific to the City and a useable budgeting tool. The budgeting tool would rely on existing data including reported basement flooding locations, overflow frequency, future intensification targets and rain and flow monitoring data. This would give the City a transparent tool to prioritize I&I work per sewer catchment.
Final surveys of the routes took place between January and April 2017. In addition, any damaged stiles, bridges, gates and access issues were reported to the North Yorkshire County Council during that time. However, from time to time walls, fences and hedges are removed, stiles and gates re-sited, new forestry established and buildings
To procced with Sec68 Drainage Application the following are required: 1) The proposed Headwall type and specification shall be noted on the plan. 2) The safety fence detail around the proposed headwall. 3) Riprap details to comply with Australian Standard (100mm stack does not comply). 4) Invert level of the proposed pipe at the headwall is incorrect
Creating these models and hierarchies gave us all a chance to consolidate exactly what the environment that this application is used in is like and how the application is used in normal, everyday situations. Using all of this information, we proceeded to create a low-fidelity prototype to address the concerns we had received in order to make the application more useful. To do this, our groups used a small-scale “design funnel” by first having each of us individually sketch out a prototype in our sketchbooks and from there meeting together to discuss the pros and cons of each of our designs before combining the best aspects of each, and any other changes that came as part of the discussion, into our completed low-fidelity prototype that we storyboarded for our task (Greenberg). Now, when we were discussing each of our designs, we made sure to use Norman’s Design Principles of “visibility, feedback, affordances, mapping, constraints and consistency” since they provided a nice set of guidelines to compare and contrast our designs. In terms of the design we went with, some of the principles resulted in ideas such as creating “consistency” with having all of the controls in panels lined across the bottom of the application, “feedback” by having the data plot take up the entire top half of the application so any change in the configuration will be immediately noticeable when the plot changes as well as
