The Jews were always a target of the world. Other nations always made them feel less then they were and they always made them think the least of themselves. Jews never did anything to deserve this treatment but things like the holocaust made the world think that the Jews were the blame for the hatred in the world. Jews were lead into sadness, physical abuse, and being emotionally uncomfortable, which made them think their lives were not worth the trauma. Jews were forced into labor, beat to death, burned alive, separated from their families, and so many more traumatizing things that we can never even think to imagine are possible. Living as a Jew was never easy but the Jews always kept strong and always kept their spirit alive and that is why we are here today.
Dehumanization lead to sadness, anger, confusion and so many different emotions. The Germans made the Jews feel the most insignificant they can ever feel and would ever feel. They tortured them by burning them alive, splitting them from their families, making them march for long distances, torturing them until death, and so many other things that we can never eve picture to occur in this world. Little kids had to leave their houses and go to live in places like concentration camps, or death camps, and they had to learn to take care of themselves even from a young age. This lead to conflicting trauma’s and kids to start feeling so many emotions a kid should never feel in their lives. The parents had to see their kids
Throughout history the Jewish people have been scapegoats; whenever something was not going right they were the ones to blame. From Biblical times through to the Shakespearean Era, all the way to the Middle East Crisis and the creation of Israel, the Jews have been persecuted and blamed for the problems of the world. The most horrifying account of Jewish persecution is the holocaust, which took place in Europe from 1933 to 1945 when Adolf Hitler tried to eliminate all the people that he thought were inferior to the Germans, namely the Jews, because he wanted a pure Aryan State.
Horror struck on January 30, 1933, when Germany assigned Adolf Hitler as their chancellor. Once Hitler had finally reached power he set out to complete one goal, create a Greater Germany free from the Jews (“The reasons for the Holocaust,” 2009). This tragedy is known today as, “The Holocaust,” that explains the terrors of our histories past. The face of the Holocaust, master of death, and leader of Germany; Adolf Hitler the most deceitful, powerful, well spoken, and intelligent person that acted as the key to this mass murder. According to a research study at the University of South Florida, nearly eleven million people were targeted and killed. This disaster is a genocide that was meant to ethnically cleanse Germany of the Jews. Although Jewish people were the main target they were not the only ones targeted; gypsies, African Americans, homosexuals, socialists, political enemies, communists, and the mentally disabled were killed (Simpson, 2012, p. 113). The word to describe this hatred for Jewish people is known as antisemitism. It was brought about when German philosophers denounced that “Jewish spirit is alien to Germandom” (“Antisemitism”) which states that a Jew is non-German. Many people notice the horrible things the Germans did, but most don’t truly understand why the Holocaust occurred. To truly understand the Holocaust, you must first know the Nazis motivations. Their motivations fell into two categories including cultural explanations that focused on ideology and
After WW2, there was a thing called the holocaust. There were many concentration camps all over Germany where many Jews were killed in different ways. It happened between WW1 and WW2, 1933-1945. My position on why this happened is that Germany was going through a rough time, so Hitler wanted their country to resemble power. Read on to learn more about the causes and ways the Holocaust could have been avoided.
Power, could there be too much of it? Or not enough? In the wrong hands, too much power lead to millions of innocent lives being taken away. One of the world’s most famous dictators takes power and has control on whether you live or die. He may not like the color of your hair, skin or what you believe in and for that, the price you pay is your life.
One of the most sorrow thing that human would ever have been through is to be treated inhumanity and brutally abused. Like the quote clearly stated, “Band-Aids don’t fix bullet hole”, Holocaust had given the Jews a deep scar that would follow them until they buried down under the ground. The nightmare began when Hitler took over the control and targeted to assassinate 6 millions of alive Jews who were living in Germany. They were all murdered in different ways, it could be starving till death, forced to do overwork or got whipped as a punishment for not working hard. Overall life was tough for them, they were forced to work long hours and lived in a poor conditions. Jews were born to be the target for Hitler and the Nazis to discriminate
The Holocaust was one of the most despicable acts of crime committed in history. It was the slaughtering of six million Jews along with other minority groups. Anti-semitism was on the rise in Germany due to one man, Adolf Hitler. The Nazi leader is known to be one of the most infamous dictators that were able to rise to power. Leading Germany, Hitler improved the economy, started World War II with the idea of Lebensraum, and exterminated Jews due to youth anti-semitic influences.
"There may be times where we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest" said Elie Wiesel. Dehumanization played a large role in the holocaust. They labeled, did experiments, and tortured millions of people. The nazis made them less than human and it made all of what they did easier. Not only was dehumanization apart of the holocaust, it became apart of society today.
During the holocaust, the Nazis dehumanized the Jews. The capricious, or impulsive, Nazi soldiers did many horrendous things to innocent Jewish people. They treated them as if they were animals rather than human beings. Personal identities were nonexistent for them. Jews were seen as invalid and insignificant.
What causes conflict? Well, conflict is caused when there is a disagreement or miscommunication. The Holocaust was a huge and bloody disagreement that led to World War II and was a horrific event that took place in the 1930-1940’s. A man that we’ve probably all heard of, named Adolf Hitler, came into power and participated in the slaughter of nearly 6 million jews, 250,000 disabled, and 196,000-220,000 Gypsies (according to the National Holocaust Memorial Museum website). These deaths were all over the European continent that were under German rule. My position on the main cause for the Holocaust was that the end of World War I left Germany in poverty. With the government in corruption, the people were desperate for change, so they allowed Hitler into power with the belief that others could control him if he did something bad. This obviously wasn’t true.
“It is the darkest day of my life, and it is still with me.” said Israel Arbeiter. Years after the Holocaust occurred, the time remains haunting for many people affected by it. The Holocaust was a very tragic time for many people. Millions of lives were lost; many people killed or wounded. This all occurred because of a perceived opinion, prejudice, of Jewish people. Racism, antisemitism, and prejudice need to stop. Respect for people with different views is important.
Beginning in the early 1930’s, the Nazi party found ways to hurt Jewish people, economically, emotionally, and physically. Official laws and decrees were made to ensure the economic and legal downfall of Jewish people. Jews were exempted and expelled from their professions and practices, stripped of education, revoked from their citizenship, and much more. Jews were also physically harmed; Nazis brutally and inhumanely attacked and molested Jews of all ages and genders. Being physically and legislatively attacked took a toll on the Jewish people. The emotional trauma and scars would be permanent. Growing up being taught that you are inferior or deserved to be beaten and stoned is horrendous for oneself. The Nazis were purposely abusive to
The world turned a blind eye to Hitler’s dehumanizing way of destroying the Jews as a whole. They isolated Jews: socially, finically and legally. Kristallnacht “the night of broken glass” is where the synagogues were destroyed. The Nazi party rated there shops and took their money and many Jews were forced violently to concentration camps. The Nazi party was so anger at the Jews because they blame the Jews for losing WW1.The raise of the Nazi party was to isolate Jews and run them out of the country. The Nazi party installed ghettos, where the Jews had to live in over crowed, unsafe and non-sanitized environment. The Nazi doctors experimented on the Jews to try and create a perfect superior race .The Jews were transported from the ghettos to the camps in cattle cars stored away worst then animals. Men, women and children’s bodies were tossed around like they meant nothing, not handled with
Dehumanization is the proceSS the Nazis used to make the Jews feel helpless and unworthy. The Jews were dehumanized in a variety of ways. When Elie first arrived in Auschwitz, he thought he was getting sent to his death (a crematorium). The SS officers yelled things like “You will be burned! Burned to a cinder! Turned to ashes!” (Wiesel, 31). The SS officers did not actually plan on cremating all of the Jews, they just said that to scare them. That is one of the tactics they used to dehumanize the Jews. On top of that, the Nazis loved to separate families and friends. Being separated from a loved one can be very traumatic. Most of the time, the families were never reunited, most people did not survive the Holocaust. Furthermore, SS officers often beat the Jews. They used violence as a solution to almost everything. The SS officers found it very amusing to make the Jews run until
In the holocaust Jewish women, men and children were treated unfairly and cruelly by the Nazis. After Germany lost World War One they were in shock are they were searching for someone to blame. This is then when Hitler had came to power. Hitler had felt that the loss of World War One was the fault of the Jews. The German Government was willing to agree with Hitler no matter what proposal it was. Hitler proceeded to begin the segregation of Jews after he was elected chancellor. Jews were then separated from the schools, stores, and most of all society. However, not all germans believed it was the fault of the Jews, So then Hitler used propaganda and he also controlled the media to win over people. Hitler only let the people see what he wanted
The dehumanization begins when it is declared that all people of Jewish faith must wear a Star of David on their arm. This is an act of dehumanization because it takes away the people’s right to privacy and forces them to parade their religion and life style around for the rest of the world to see. As well when their businesses are all shut down, the Jewish people must resort to buying and selling items on the black market in secret. This takes all the dignity out of making a living and gaining the necessities for life. Another extremely dehumanizing action of the Nazi soldiers is how they choose certain Jewish people to watch over and control the rest of the group with the threat that the leaders would be punished if anyone stepped out of line. This is incredibly dehumanizing because it creates an atmosphere for jealousy, rivalry, and forces some people to become corrupt for their own
