It is suggested that you take high school classes in math, and sciences, such as biology. Most states will require Veterinary Technologists and Technicians to pass the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE). Technicians and technologists must also have work experience in a lab and pass the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science examination (AALAS).
