Euthanasia in Of mice and Men
We all have to make decisions in our life in order to do what is right. But would it be the right thing to kill your own best friend? I think if what they did was terribly wrong, then maybe it would be the right thing to do. The term euthanasia means that you killed someone and it was painless for the patient. What if Lennie didn’t really deserved to be killed by his own best friend the he would do anything for. In my opinion, I think that it was the right thing for George to murder his best friend Lennie. To support my opinion the reason why I thought that it was the right thing for George kill Lennie was because I wouldn’t think that Lennie would let anyone other character to kill him. Another thing was that
But if the other outcome is worse, you're obligated/called to do the right/more humane outcome. Most people would agree with this statement in almost every other situation, but when you substitute it into context here it's no different. Many people who have read the book agrees George and Lennie had a special connection/best friends and many say friends don't kill each other. When you take a deeper look at this statement it justifies even more why George did the right thing, and shouldn't get punished. Since they had a special connection, George cared for him so much that he knew the right thing to do is to let him go and die happily, peacefully, with no struggle. Also by someone who cares for him, then someone who hates him, no matter how much it would hurt himself to do it.
Would you end your bestfriends life? I know i wouldn't, I personally feel George was not justified in shooting lennie. I don't believe George was justified in shooting lennie because first of all what George did was practically an execution which was an act of cruel and unusual punishment. Also shooting lennie was not Georges only option in protecting him. Lastly I feel George was unjustified in shooting lennie because lennie can not be held accountable for his actions because he is mentally ill .
Did George make the right decision when he killed his best friend Lennie? George and Lennie became friends when they were young. Lennie had an aunt named Clara, that would always take good care of Lennie. Due to Lennie’s special needs, George did not want to see him go through the pain and suffering of prison and mental health care. George felt obligated to take Lennie under his wing because Lennie could not survive on his own. Lennie had a very short temper that caused him and George a lot of heartache. It eventually caused George to have to kill Lennie. Although, many say that George made the wrong choice by killing him. In fact, he made the right choice when he killed Lennie because mental health care practice was very cruel and gunshot wounds was inadequate in the 1930s. George spared Lennie from a cruel hard
George killing Lennie is very immoral because Lennie does not know any better. Lennie is not killing people and animals on purpose he just underestimates his strength and does not realize that he is doing wrong. Lennie is innocent and does not deserve
If you had the choice of doing what is in your best friend’s interest, would you consider it? What if the friend’s death was a factor? In the story of Mice and Men, George may have taken Lennie's life, but he made the decision for the better interest of his friend. He knew that Curley and his men would kill Lennie, he would suffer and/or be placed in jail. George made the justified decision of killing Lennie because it was the better choice of Lennie’s foreseen future. Therefore, George was morally justified for shooting Lennie for merciful reasons.
George shouldn’t be put in jail for killing Lennie because if your killing somebody or a animal that is usually not legal to kill and you don’t want to see the animal or person suffer then you should take it out of its misery.
Imagine that you wake up and you are in the hospital because you have been just told you will be put on life support for the rest of your life. You are suffering from cancer and you don't want to suffer anymore. Then you overhear your family being asked by the doctor if they want the euthanasia process done on you.Do you think your family would really push you towards the light. This process would be a case where it would be ok to pull someone's life button because they are your loved one and you wouldn’t want them to be in pain or suffering until they can't go on anymore. So therefore euthanasia, capital punishment and in the case of George and lennie killing someone for a purposefull meaning and not just to murder someone killing someone is
In the book, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, there are many human and animal deaths all throughout the book. The most significant death was when George went against his will and killed Lennie. Lennie’s death was unjustified since he was never given any opportunity to make up for it or to just run and get away. After Lennie killed Curley’s wife no one could trust him and with that the workers on the ranch believed it was Lennie’s “turn” to die. Over the course of human history there have been many unjustified deaths leading to no charge against the assailants. Such as, death row, self-defense and euthanasia, these types of deaths are all unjustified and there are many reasons to authenticate it.
Some people think that George did not do the right thing by killing Lennie because there were alternative options for shooting him. But, if George and Lennie decided to run away, they would be running their whole life, and if George decided to turn Lennie in, he
Defend or challenge the notion that George's act of killing Lennie was one of kindness
In the book Of Mice and Men George kills his friend Lennie at the end. I do not agree with the choice that George made to kill Lennie. Some people might say that George made a good decision to kill Lennie but here is why they are wrong. My reasons are that George could have shot curly and his men when they were after Lennie. My next reason is Lennie always tried to make things the best and he always tried and didn’t give up.
Two girls died the other day, one sadly took her own life while the other’s life was taken from her brutally. Everybody's upset, putting up suicide prevention posters and talking about how this is terrible and being sorry for the families who lost a loved one. Someone else ended their life through the process of Euthanasia, yet the third death was accepted and was hardly talked about. In Of Mice and Men, written by John Steinbeck, one of the main characters, George, is faced with a decision to kill his friend Lennie. George has a hard time doing so because he has known Lennie for so long. In the end George decides that it would be best if he killed Lennie, in a form called Euthanasia, instead of Curley brutally killing him. Euthanasia, also known as mercy killing, is when a doctor kills a patient painlessly because they have no more desire to live. Therefore, mercy killing is cruel and an unnecessary practice that seems to be very similar to a suicide and homicide.
Lennie had no say in what would happen, and George, while believing he was doing the right thing, decides to end it. Killing no matter what form, is murder, and death is the easy way out. Although George may have meant Lennie’s death as mercy it was most definitely murder. Lennie’s lack of say in the matter made the fact that George calls it “mercy” an even bigger lie. Without a word to Lennie, “[George’s] face set and his hand steddied.
George has always watched Lennie and took care of him. It was promise George made to Lennie’s Aunt Clara. But after a lot of traveling due to Lennie’s behavior, George was getting tired. In the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, George, a migrant farm worker, kills his best friends Lennie, a child-like man who most likely has a mental disability [I don’t like Lennie’s description]. It might seem preposterous to kill your own best friends, like George did, but he did the right thing.
George made a good decision when he killed Lennie because he can have a better life, and also stay with the other guys and be safe. When George was forced to kill Lennie, sure it was a bad thing, but it also was a good thing for many different
