Scout, in this book, is the main character. She dislikes being a “lady” and prefers trousers over dresses. Scout is aggressive and confident but she is also thoughtful of others. If Atticus was the main character, the book wouldn't be from a child’s perspective but an adults. The truth about the real world would be exposed. Therefore, there are no signs of innocence and no lessons between good and evil are learned. Atticus and Scout are both open minded about equality; whereas Atticus is older and wiser, but Scout is younger and quick to judge.

In 'To Kill a Mockingbird' many morals about the themes in the novel are portrayed through different issues and events. The major themes are appearance vs. reality courage, maturity and prejudice. Each of these themes has an event in the novel that help the reader understand its message.
In To kill a mockingbird Harper lee uses characters to tell us that people people are not inherently evil however society corrupts them. Aunt Alexandria is scout’s aunt who has been raised in the traditional ways of the south in United states. Mr Cunningham is father to walter cunningham a classmate to scout. He is also a client of Atticus's and pays Atticus for his services in goods rather than money because that's all he can afford. To kill a mokingbird takes place in the early 1930s in a southern fictional town of Maycomb in Alabama.
The main concept of good and evil is extremely prominent in 'To Kill a Mockingbird', as well as the real world today. Many are faced with the challenge of determining what "side" they occupy in certain situations or beliefs, such as when the men and women of Maycomb County are faced with the topic of racism during Tom Robinson's trial in the mid 1930's. Like most concepts, philosophies, and situations, there is always the "gray" area. When we focus on good and evil, we tend to only look at the absolute good and absolute evil, when, in turn, there is also neutral good and neutral evil. These aren't looked at as much because we tend to ignore the gray areas of every aspect in life unless we are forced to see it, and in 'To Kill a Mockingbird', we are.
The conflict between good and evil is very common, even in day to day life. It is impossible for pure good and pure evil to coexist, and this is apparent in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. In this book, we see a racist town of Maycomb in the mid 1900’s react to injustice through the eyes of Scout Finch, a young girl with brother Jem and caring father, Atticus. While young, we see the children of Atticus Finch grow and mature through his teachings and good morals, as well as see them experience and witness the good and evil in their townsfolk. Through characterization and figurative language, the author develops a theme of good vs. evil. Lee uses characters Boo Radley Bob Ewell to convey the idea that the conflicts
The main character in this novel is Jean Louise Finch (Scout) and the supporting main character is Jeremy Atticus Finch (Jem). These two characters are children go through things and events that provoke tough questions and reveal their loss of innocence. Near the end of the book Mr. Ewell tries to kill Scout and Jem,
Atticus values equality and justice and he thought now would be a good opportunity to display the importance of such values to his children. 3) Scout Fights with Ciel Jacobs and Francis because she wanted to defend her father, Atticus. The boys called her father a “Nigger-lover” and hearing this insult towards her beloved father, who she knows is incapable of being anything but a fair a kind man, makes her want to fight back. 4) Aunt Alexandra disapproved of Scout because she believed Scout was too much of a tomboy.
From the beginning, humanity has exhibited opposing principles. This can be seen in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, where characters differentiate themselves between two sides, good versus evil, by their morals. A person with morals will not be overruled by evil but push themselves and others to strive for righteousness. On the contrary, a person without morals can be persuaded into committing evil deeds. Therefore, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird displays that there are a lot of opportunities for humans to behave in an evil manner; however, those with strong morals will resist.
Scout is the main character of the book and shows herself throughout the the book. When Atticus was appointed to the case of Tom Robinson the town turned against Atticus and also Scout, the main character. Scout endured An entire town being angry with her amongst the racial slurs and threats directed to her and her family. She kept her “cool” in other words. Stayed level headed. Scout showed bravery also at the jailhouse. Scout said “Hey Mr. Cunningham.” (Lee 204). Then Scout went on to talk about Walter to Mr. Cunningham, as if nothing was going on and they were friends. She acted normal and that resolved the problem with the mob. The book says also
Characters, Jem and Scout Finch, don’t let the Depression ruin their day and show childlike humor throughout the novel. To Kill a Mockingbird has an abundance of themes, but three themes have the best effect on this “masterpiece of American literature.” First, people never seem to be what they show others. Scout and Jem refer to Atticus as being boring and too old
To Kill a Mockingbird has a wide variety of themes and motives throughout the book. However, the most prominent issues are racism, or in a more conventional meaning, the moral nature of human beings.
The theme of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is that the innocent must be protected at all costs. The first example of this theme in To Kill a Mockingbird When the Children get air guns and first learn about the Mockingbird. This shows the theme rather effectively because it is downright explained by Atticus and miss Maudie. thay explain that the reason why it's a sin to Kill a Mockingbird because the Mockingbird has done nothing wrong it only sings for people and make them happy, it is innocent. The second example is rather more abstract It is when Atticus shoots the Mad Dog. This represents the theme of To Kill a Mockingbird because Atticus is doing everything in his power to protect the innocent children even if using a gun goes against
To Kill a Mockingbird shows how a child grows throughout his or her childhood. Throughout the novel, Scout becomes a mature girl by going through several experiences with her brother and father which form an understanding of the world to her. By allowing the reader to see the coming of age of Scout by the use of first person point of view, Harper Lee shows the many lessons that Scout learns from her father, Atticus; the lessons are that you do not really know a man until you have been in his shoes, don’t kill mockingbirds, and don’t judge a person because of their race.
The illustrious capital of Pandæmonium was brought upon to the humble town of Holcomb by a mere four shots on the night of November 15, 1959. Four proved enough to convert every man, woman, and child from mirthful laughs into lamenting cries. It has sunken the land into a city of woe and all its citizens into agents of paranoia. Neighbors that once seen each other as brothers and kin now observe each other with scrutiny and suspect. They have slept restless believing (falsely) that the sinner was amongst them. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury and your honorable judge Gratch, the tragedy of Holcomb was but one of the many left in the wake of this grotesque soul that has long been tempered by malice and hate. In the darkest hue is his ethereal essence which finds itself unfaltering against an endless deluge of pleas; of change, of mercy, and of light (Repetition: Anaphora).
