This supports my claim because Jonas was making a good decision of saving Gabriel’s life, therefore Gabe was not released. Another piece of evidence is when Jonas was starting to regret leaving because he was starving, but then he realized that “If he would have stayed he would have lived a life hungry in other ways. He would have lived a life hungry for feelings, for colors, for love” (173).
