Henry David Thoreau(1817-1862) took a naturalist approach and lived in a hand built cabin for two years two months and two days, reading and writing works of others with beginning idealist views which he expounded and perfected in his later works. These writers were not a connected group working on a single thought but a system of artists using thoughts from one another to influence their own works and actions.
