Likewise, in the play, “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, Friar Laurence is a father-like figure to young Romeo. Although an adult, Friar neglects his responsibility to guide Romeo on the right path. He gives Romeo bad advice throughout the whole play. This leads to the downfall of Romeo and Juliet.
