The story of Romeo and Juliet is a very interesting and complex tale. The death of Romeo and Juliet can be blamed on many people. Some might blame their deaths on Romeo, Juliet, The Friar, or even the Nurse. Though there are many opinions, I think it can be blamed on Romeo for the death of the two lovers. First reason I think it's on Romeo is because, Romeo was upset that the one he ''loved'' didn't feel the same so he is upset and is not acting as himself. Romeo loved another women, yet she does not love him back so he is speaking with Benvolio of how he is upset and wants her to feel the same. According to the text Romeo speaks'' out of her favor, where I am in love.'' This reasoning is pretty much saying that he is looking for love where love is not, and is acting as if he is desperate for love. …show more content…
Benvolio explains to Romeo that he should come to this party to help him get back on his feet and get happy again. Romeo, at first says no that he doesn't think a party would help and that he wants to just stay home and be alone. Benvolio and some other friends eventually get him to agree to go to this party and they sneak in. Romeo feels as if this party is going to end up going terribly wrong. According to the text, '' I have a feeling this party tonight will be the start of something bad, something that will end with my own death.'' This to me is ironic, because them meeting and falling in love ends up with both of them
f Romeo didn't go to that stupid Capulet party he would've never met Juliet and neither of them would have died. Unless he killed himself because of Rosaline but that's not my point. Its Romeo’s fault they're both dead. If he wouldn't have fallen in love with Juliet, if he wouldn't have kissed her, if he would have wanted her so bad, if he would've waited, and slowed things down they would both still be alive. But nooo it's all Romeo’s fault. If Romeo didn't get the poison, they would still be alive. If he wouldn't have killed himself he would still be alive, they would still be alive.
In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Romeo the main character falls in love with a girl named Juliet. It just happens that the two families, Montagues and Capulets are feuding over something they do not remember. Romeo’s two friends are Benvolio and Mercutio, Benvolio is a peacekeeper and most of the time he thinks before he acts. Mercutio is the complete opposite, he acts with his emotions and his emotions are erratic. The better friend between Mercutio and Benvolio is Benvolio due to the following reasons, he wants to make sure nothing is bothering Romeo, and he listens and cares about what Romeo has to say about his irrational love life.
Who’s fault is it for the various deaths? In “Romeo and Juliet” by William Skakespeare there’s various deaths. Teenage lovers fell in love but their familes hated each other. When they got married no one knew. Friar Lawrence married them in private but, the nurse did know. In Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence is to blame for all the various deaths. He married Romeo and Juliet and came up with the plan for Juliet to appear her death.
In the film, Friar Lawrence foreshadows the fate of Romeo and Juliet as he states, "These violent delights have violent ends / And in their triumph die, like fire and powder, / Which, as they kiss, consume" (II.vi.9-11). He explains the violent delights refers to the lust and the intense love between Romeo and Juliet, which inevitably leads to violent ends for Romeo and Juliet as they both commit suicide. He relates Romeo and Juliet to fire and powder, explaining as soon as they meet; they will consume each other at the peak of their love and it will result in their mutual demise. In addition, Juliet asks the Nurse to acquire Romeo’s name before he leaves. She exclaims, “If he be married. / My grave is like to be my wedding bed” (I.v.135). This reveals that if Romeo is married, Juliet will die rather than marry anyone else, but she is also unknowingly foreshadowing her fate where her grave does become her wedding bed, next to Romeo. Lastly, Romeo receives a vison before going to the party, stating, “I fear, too early: for my mind misgives / Some consequence yet hanging in the stars / Shall bitterly begin his fearful date / With this night’s revels, and expire the term / Of a despised life closed in my breast / By some vile forfeit of untimely death (I.iv.106-113). This foreshadows that something bad will happen this night that will result in Romeo’s death. It’s true, as
Romeo was saying that love can be dangerous but that he would do anything to call Juliet his. This shows how the two shouldn’t have been married because it can end poorly. Their love was new and strong and they got so caught up in their first real love that it became all they thought of. Both of the characters knew about the dangers of keeping something a secret, yet they did it anyway. This lead to conflict because nobody knew. The marriage was done in secret for a reason, and that secret would lead to lives of three people.
Through the use of a metaphor, Romeo compares love with smoke. This represents how Romeo feels about love. He is saying that smoke is similar to the sighs of people that are in love and that when the smoke clears just like when the people get happy again and fire burning is just like a lover's eyes filled with love. With this it shows Romeo as a character feels strongly about love and that love can be amazing but it can also be terrible. In the surrounding lines, Benvolio was crying about how sad Romeo was, the quote was a part of Romeo explaining why he was sad and how love is the reason for this sadness. This also shows that Romeo has an effect on other people and what he feels does not only affect himself but also others close to him.
Death and despair has plagued the Verona streets due to Romeo in the so called romantic tale, of Romeo and Juliet written by the famous William Shakespeare. Every single tragedy that happened in Romeo and Juliet the repercussions of one man, the blame should only be placed on the one who caused the crime, and the guilty party is Romeo.
At the beginning of the play, Romeo is very depressed. Montague and Benvolio are discussing what he’s been doing as a result of feeling so unhappy, “ Away from the light steals home my heavy son And in his private chamber pens himself” (1.1.140-142). Romeo is locking himself in his room from being so depressed due to his love for
Romeo illustrates the naivety of youth and the desperation of a young man who is madly in love. In the beginning of the play Romeo decides to
After the fight had taken place in the town square, Benvolio gives the Montague’s a simplification for all that ensued. He doesn’t skew the anecdote, advocating any side, but is simply honest in all things. Benvolio is also a good friend to Romeo because he was told that Romeo had suffered the loss of rest because of his felt like attachment to Rosaline. Romeo trusted Benvolio in telling him about his heart because he knows that he will not hurt him and he knows that Benvolio will hurt with him until it has been solved. Benvolio informs Romeo about the veracity endearment can engender. This part of the story shows how much of a solicitous friend, he is considering he has developed trust with Romeo because he knows that Romeo’s heart is up for repair by stating “ This is the truth, or let Benvolio die” (1,iii,137). In this quote Benvolio shows his honesty by stating that his works can be appraised against his life. Which makes his words of purpose because he is able to separate himself as a prejudice. Benvolio being a trustworthy friend is important to the play because if it was not Romeo trusting Benvolio as a friend, then Romeo would have never found the love of his life Juliet which was for the affect of Benvolio being trusted.. This too is important seeing that Romeo trusted Benvolio about running away, foreshadowing that Benvolio is of limited
6. Shakespeare makes Romeo express the readers how miserable and confused he is towards his love Rosaline. Romeo tells Benvolio how he has “lost” (1.1 Line 205) himself and that “this is not Romeo”(1.1 Line 206), he is “somewhere else”(1.1 Line 206) He tries to declares his pain through love. Romeo confesses to Benvolio that he is into her deeply and can’t think of anything else.
This shows how much Romeo despises death for taking away his true love and all that he can do is follow her into the unknown showing the theme of tragedy. The invited reading is to foreground the idea of tragedy as the quote symbolizes that the light of their love still shines
Romeo admits, “I’ll go along no such sight to be shown but to rejoice splendour of my own” (I.V.102-103) Romeo’s quote emphasizes that the women at the party are influencing Romeo and his comrades to attend. The women causes them to forget that they could be caught. For example, even if one wears a mask to a party to hide his identity, one can still recognize the individual by their voice and their by their actions. This evokes to the reader that Romeo and his comrades ‘love for women distracts them from reasoning, and make them decide to attend their enemy’s ball. Additionally, Romeo’s decision to kill himself without any genuine reasoning after hearing about Juliet’s death, illustrates the point that love is more powerful than reasoning. Romeo cries, “Well Juliet (Romeo) will lie with thee tonight”(V.I.34). This quote proclaimed by Romeo shows he has given up on life right after hearing the horrible news. This diverts to the reader that Romeo, who always seeks the Friar’s assistance when something important would happen,
Benvolio, being best friends with Romeo, had felt it was his duty to get his buddy’s mind off this stupid chick Rosaline that didn’t even like Romeo back. So Benvolio’s final conclusion was to go to the Capulet Ball and show Romeo there are much hotter chicas out there. Despite the feud between families they both decided to venture to the Capulet manor and get their party on. Immediately the two are spotted by Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, but fortunately for them Lord Capulet told Tybalt that Romeo was not a threat and to leave them be for the night. Later that night Romeo and Juliet meet and fall in love and blah blah blah, but we aren’t
