They set in motion the main plot of the play. It is their prophecy that causes Macbeth to turn his ambition, which has previously been manifested in loyal service to Duncan, to focusing on killing Duncan and taking the throne himself. Because it is evil witches who tempt him to do this, the audience knows that his choices are not justified and that he will prove evil as well. The witches constantly bring out the worst in Macbeth.

Essay topic: Is Lady Macbeth more responsible than Macbeth for the murder of King Duncan? Is Lady Macbeth a more evil character than her husband and, if so, why?
The dream of becoming king has ironically changed from a bright future to a tragic end due to some of the crucial decisions Macbeth has made during the course of his journey and a number of his actions will backfire on him. The first of his actions that backfired was when he murdered King Duncan which he regrets afterwards. Another action that backfired was the murder of the guards which could've drastically changed the outcome of this entire story since he could've gotten away with King Duncan's murder if he didn't commit it. The third action that backfired on Macbeth was when he ordered the murderers to murder Banquo and Fleance at which they failed to eliminate Fleance.
In William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the main character, Macbeth, is a brave and loyal subject to the King of Scotland, but as the play progresses, his character begins to change drastically. Evil and unnatural powers, as well as his own passion to become king, take over his better half and eventually lead to his downfall. The three main factors that intertwine with one another that contribute to Macbeth’s tragic end are the prophecies told by the three witches, Lady Macbeth’s influence, and finally, Macbeth’s excessive passion and ambition which drove his desire to become king to the utmost extreme. The prophecy told by the three witches was what triggers the other factors that contribute to Macbeth s downfall. In the first act, the witches
Every action has a reaction. In terms of “The Tragedy of Macbeth” by Shakespeare, The verdict of who to hold accountable for the murder of King Duncan is a question many people ponder because multiple characters like Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, The Three Witches, and King Duncan himself, made influencing choices that led to this tragic death. It is my understanding that these characters impacted the story and should receive some blame for the crime, but the blunt of the blame falls to Macbeth because with all said and done he had the biggest motive for wanting the king dead, felt the most guilt, and most important of all, Macbeth was the very person to take King Duncan's life. One of the most influential characters in this play was its leading
Macbeth, as a play is a well-known tragedy that stills retains influence largely in the literary world but also the world as a whole. The issue of who the blames for the tragedy falls upon is a misapprehended topic, wrongly thought to be controversial at all. The blame falls solely on Macbeth for several reasons. He was the one to commit regicide and follow through on the actions incited by Lady Macbeth. He had complete trust and faith in what the witches said without even an inkling of suspicion that they might be using him and decided to take action rather than wait for the fulfillment of the prophecies. He made the decision to be a tyrannical ruler bordering on being a Megalomaniac. Macbeth is the only reason and cause that everything went awry.
In Macbeth by William Shakespeare; the witches, Lady Macbeth, and Macbeth contributed to Macbeth’s downward spiral. The witches incepted the idea of Macbeth to start the killings. Lady Macbeth compelled Macbeth to go through with killing Duncan. Macbeth is at fault for his own tragedy since he was the one that let greed get the best of him and acted upon the idea of him taking the power for himself. He was responsible for his own actions but I believe he wasn’t responsible from coming up with the ideas of his actions.
The Tragedy of Macbeth: Who was to blame? Whose fault was it? That’s the most important question to ask. In The Tragedy of Macbeth you have to decide who is truly to blame.
After he listens to lady Macbeth and commits murder, Macbeth starts seeing wicked dreams and having self hatred which promotes the unbearable consequences he will be facing before his end.
In the tragedy of Macbeth, by WIlliam Shakespeare, one can blame characters for what occurs in the play. Although we are influenced by others in life it is our choice in the end the really makes the difference. We cannot pass the blame entirely on another for the actions that we have done. That is why in my opinion it is Macbeth's fault for the death of the king.
Macbeth is a general in the scottish army of king Duncan. At the beginning of the play when Macbeth was returning from a battle that he had won, Macbeth and his friend Banquo met three old witches that told them strange prophecies. The witches greeted Macbeth as the thane of Glamis and that was his present tittle, the witches also greet him as the thane of Cawdor and also as the future king. The witches also predict that Banquo will never be a king but that his sons will be kings. Within a short period of time, a messenger sent by king Duncan came to announced that Macbeth has been crowned the thane of Cawdor.
In Shakespeare’s play Macbeth, the main character’s goal is to become the king. Macbeth seeks to gain as much power as he possibly can and this ultimately leads to his demise. He hears the prophecy of the witches and becomes so obsessed with fulfilling the prophecy because it states that he will eventually become king. Having this information, Macbeth goes out of his way to force the prophecy to come true. He becomes so power hungry that he tries to force fate leaving him with an undeniable guilt for his actions, the loss of love from the people who once loved him, and a harsh death in the end.
In the play ‘Macbeth’, written by William Shakespeare, the reader watches the series of events that take place in 15th century Scotland with its numerous thanes and the King. You deal with themes that include treason, murder, and the operations of the Government at the time. Many would say that Macbeth is guilty of the themes talked about (treason, murder, etc.) and that he is completely responsible for his actions in the play. I disagree with that statement for the most part. I believe that Macbeth can’t be held responsible for his actions because he is not mentally competent therefore his ability to make rational reasoning isn't there.
His unfretted ambition and how it leads to the destruction of him and others. Once Macbeth's ambition comes to fruition; his overwhelming desire for the throne of Scotland leads to his own downfall. As well as the downfall of others. By the end of the play, Macbeth's actions have directly resulted in several deaths including his own. However, Macbeth also plays a significant role in his wife's suicide.
Then he slaughters everyone in his path to greatness, anyone whose death would benefit him, because of these visions. Just like how the narrator destroys anyone in the way of their ambition. And because of his desperate crusade to be the King of Scotland, all the loved ones he once had either turn against him or die. He drives himself to isolation, and by the end of the play, Macbeth is just as consumed by ambition as the
