Introduction
The Roman Empire was the most successful ancient civilization. They conquered most of the land. They also worked as one government not one leader. They lastly, had great architecture.
Who Rome Conquered
At first, Rome was just one, small city-state who spoke Latin, on the west side of Italy’s peninsula. Rome, as a monarchy, couldn't even keep foreign powers from ruling it. It started gaining strength from about 510 B.C. until the middle of the 3rd century B.C. During this the early Republican period, Rome made and broke strategic treaties with neighboring groups in order to help her conquer other city-states. In the end, after revising her battle tactics, weapons, and legions, Rome emerged as the undisputed leader of Italy.
The City-state of Rome became a republic in 509 BC. Rome fought numerous battles to become what it was at its height. It all started with the Punic wars. After they won, there was no stopping them. By the first century BC, Rome controlled most of the known world. (Mahoney, 2001)
The story of ancient Rome is a tale of how a small community of shepherds in the central Italy grew to become one of the greatest empires in history, and then collapsed. According to Roman legend. Rome was founded in 753 B.C. By 275 B.C., it controlled most of the Italian Peninsula. In the A.D. 100’s, the Roman Empire covered about half of Europe, much of the Middle East, and the northern coast of Africa. The empire then began to crumble, party because it was too big for Rome to govern.
Rome was once a powerful aristocracy empire that was feared and didn't want to mess with but down the line things went wrong time and time again like the negligence of the army, the constant natural disasters, and the treatment of their citizens, because of this happening Rome eventually fell and was no more.
Many people know Rome as one of the greatest and powerful cities of history. Rome started out as a little city and slowly started gaining land as time went by. In the beginning of Rome the Greeks were the most powerful and wealthy of the area. Again as time drove by the Romans gained more power and wealth without really meaning to. The fall of Rome occurred because as Rome grew older it started to turn into an Empire with one sole leader, they conquered people who were unwilling, and the economy was starting to crumble.
Rome was a very powerful empire when it started they had conquered many empires at the time this is one of the reasons why we still study them to day. They had made many enemies and were at the top. Until one day they had became weak and lazy this will soon lead to what we call today the “fall”of Rome. First of one of the main problems were the case of foreign invasions.
Like waves, Rome once was tall and strong, but eventually, every wave comes crashing down. Starting around 750 BCE was a strong and powerful empire- Rome. After fighting to get territory and succeeding, Rome took over places such as the Mediterranean sea and colonies in North Africa, the middle east, Egypt, and the asia minor. Caesar became a powerful emperor and led Rome to a time of peace (Pax Romana). Rome rose, but like most, eventually fell due to laziness, then causing invasion.
Beginning in the eighth century B.C., Ancient Rome grew from a small town in the center of Italy near the Tiber River into an empire that, at its peak, defeated and conquered most of continental Europe, Britain, western Asia, northern Africa and the Mediterranean islands. From the start, the Romans showed a talent for borrowing and improving upon the skills and concepts of other cultures. The Kingdom of Rome grew rapidly from a trading town to a prosperous city between the 8th and 6th centuries BCE. Among the many expansions of the Roman empire, they started to gain dominance over other well-known practices and were able to widespread the Romance languages derived from Latin, the modern Western alphabet and calendar, and the emergence of Christianity
Rome is located in Italy, which includes a peninsula and islands in southern Europe. Rome became an empire around 14 C.E. In 476 C.E., the last emperor in the west loses his throne to a Germanic leader, which pretty much marked the fall of Rome. The reasons the Roman Empire fell is because it grew to big to protect, military soldiers were unloyal to Battle, and Invasions in Rome. Due to Christianity Rome hired foreign soldiers to fight for military.
As pointed out early The Roman’s army conquered many terrioties from modern-day Scotland to Spain, and gained control of the whole Mediterranean Sea, and established colonies in North Africa, Egypt, the Middle East and Asia Minor (DBQ).
How did Rome become Great in History is a good question and I want to give you some ideas that I saw during my week reading. Historians divided Roman history into three categories: the kingdom of Rome ( beginning in the 8th century B.C.), the period of the Republic (beginning in 509 B.C.) and the period of the Empire ( beginning in 27 B.C.). All of these played a role in Rome becoming Great in History. Rome did not start off as a big Empire the rule most of the Middle East. Rome began as a small city-state on the western side of central Italy in the 8th century
Rome is known for its’ empire (The Roman Empire). Rome started out small and ended up becoming this huge and undefeatable force of nature. Rome received their success by either attacking other nearby towns/neighbors or granting them treaties or citizenships. E. Badien, the author who created an article called, The Organization Of Italy, explains how Rome organized Italy, and got their neighboring cities and nations to join them and turn ancient Italy into a leading state of power. In Badien’s observations, he finds that granting citizenship and the Latin’s helped Rome to become powerful and assisting Italy to be more structured.

Rome, considered by most the greatest empire of the ancient world, stretched from modern day England to Palestine and was more successful than all previous Empires. Rome's government, military, economic and civic structures were all superior to those of their predecessors.
As the story goes, Rome was founding in 753 B.C. by two brothers Remus and Romulus who were raised by wolves. The two brothers started fighting over the leadership of the land. Eventually Romulus killed Remus and took control own his own. The city was only a small settlement
