There are many reasons a person may give as to why he/she loves Jesus. My reasons may be simple to some, or selfish to others, but I believe they barely scratch the surface in understanding the depth of His love for me. The apostle John supposed that if every act of Jesus were written, the world could not contain the books that should be written. How much more than the love of God and Christ for us? To narrow it down to three main reasons why I love the Lord Jesus would be becuase He loves me, He keeps me, and because in Him I find my all. The love of God. How does one begin to describe it? It cannot be done. Men and poets have tried over centuries to describe it, but words still fail to comprehend the height and depth, the breadth and width of the love of God. The first reason why I love the Lord Jesus is simply becuase He loved me first. He loved me before the foundations of the world were laid, and He loved me enough to die in my place for my sins. In essence He loved me not only before I was, but even when I was at my darkest and it would cost Him everything to love me still. Romans 5:8 says "But God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Earlier, Christ said in John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." To love such as this, how can one not love in return? Secondly, I love Him because He keeps me eternally secure and forgives me by His grace. In John 10:28 Christ said
I have always been in the Catholic faith and I really like it. To me Jesus is the Son of God. I also think that Jesus is amazing. He is my light, my soul, my everything, and he will always be there for me and I love him. I think he is important because he died just for us. Jesus plays a big role in my daily life. If I am having trouble in life Jesus is always there for me. He guides me to make the right choices and do the right things. He always loves me every single second
Moreover, he was crucified because of pardoning our sin. I know this stories about Jesus, but, at that time, Jesus existentially came to me as the incarnation. I realized that Jesus Christ is my lord but also sincere friend as he came down to Zacchaeus in the plan of God. This is my experience of and understanding God and God’s love.
All of this stems from a love for God that is to be a sacrificial love, an unconditional love. A love that puts God’s agenda ahead of his own. It is a love for
Savior came to earth to save me from sin and death. I am nothing without him, and I know that he loves me no matter how it feels or seems. He promised to be with me every day of my life, I am not perfect, but I serve a perfect God who loves each one of us. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16 NASB).
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NABRE)
First of all, Jesus is my Savior through justification. Justification by faith is being attributed by God as righteous, even though we have sinned, and are therefore relieved from guilt and punishment. “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” –Romans 4:5 The two principles of justification are as follows: the One who has been
Love is often a word mistreated by most people. Now days, the word love is thrown around so much, it has lost its meaning. People forget why we are living, breathing humans today. People forget about the sacrifices made for the sins we acted out. People forget about the love that God has for us. It is easy to misinterpret the meaning of God’s love. Human love and God’s love are two different things. The love from the Lord is invincible and no human can come close to that type of love. God created mankind because He loved humanity.
The definition of love for God is to love God with all your heart, mind, and Saul, and this is nothing but to be faithful to him.
MIM: God’s love is the gift of mercy expressed to us through the suffering of Jesus caused by
No emotion has such universal meaning as love. It is an integral part of the human condition. Love is the basis for by which all other emotions can be gauged. Friendship and even grief are steeped in love. Love is so central to our lives that it is fitting and proper that it should be the topic of so much discussion. Every culture and every writer has some commentary or evaluation of love. The New Testament has its share of love commentary. The entire basis of the Christian tradition is God's love for humanity. "God so loved the world that he gave his only Son." (John 3:6) Jesus preached a great deal about love of neighbor, love of God and even love of enemies. (Matt 5:44) Shakespeare's Biblical knowledge is well known and he
They don’t completely describe how he was made me a better person and how he has helped me. Jesus is literally the only one I tell everything to. When it comes to talking about my feelings and about everything that is going in my life there is no other person I would talk to, this includes all people including family. We just have this truth between one another and he gives me the best advice when I ask for it. He helps me through tough times and through times when I just want to quit everything. It is just so natural and easy to talk to him whenever I need to. Also his way of being with me is just like I would be with him. He has the exact same sense of humor that I have which makes it that much funnier whenever one of us cracks a
God is love. John 3:16 states "For God so LOVED the world, that he begot his one and only son, that whoever believe in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life". I have made many wrong decisions in my little life span, but he has shown love and mercy by forgiving each and every one. My life in church had started off alone and detached. I have never been an outgoing person, I never imagined the ability to go up to a random person and make them a friend , but Christ gave such a wonderful and joyful personality to me. Ever since I have been walking with the Lord , he has grown me closer to my loved ones. I saw some of my cousins only twice a year, but now I have the opportunity to see them multiple times a month… I have made a family through Christ and I would do anything for them. There are a family of nine that attend the same church as I, and I look at them as if I were birthed into the family. I'm not blood, I'm not adopted, but I am connected through
My personal general theology is based on the scripture John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” This has always impacted the way that I have talked about God to others. I’ve spoken about God in a manner of love because He loves us enough to give His only begotten son for our salvation. God loves us enough to make our process toward salvation easier by allowing our requirement to merely believe in Him. God loves us enough to allow our souls not to perish, if we believe in Him. God’s love is the foundation of my personal theology. In this project I will cover areas that relate to God’s love for us. The topics
When Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree, sin entered the world and that which was once good became corrupted. From that moment, we were separated from God. Yet because we were made in His image and He love us so much, He gave up his one and only son to die on the cross for our sins. One of God’s attributes is His benevolence, which means that He loves and cares about all His creation. He is also merciful, which means that He is very compassionate and tender-hearted towards us. I mention these specific attributes to emphasize the fact that these attributes were also present in the person of Christ. Jesus said, “He who has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9), meaning that if we want to personally “know the love, the holiness, the power
When asked the question “What is Love?” what are some of the first things that come to mind? Some people might say it is an emotion that we experience when we interact with the world around us. People can have love for many things such as money and other material possessions, family and friends, even the world around them. These are just a few examples of how we often use love in our lives. However, love is not only confined to our lives, it is also a very important emotion in religions as well.
