Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the Treasury, struggled to create the first Bank of the United States. Republicans such as Thomas Jefferson argued that the formation of a national bank was not one of Congress’s enumerated powers; thus claiming the proposal as unconstitutional. Respectively, Federalists such as Hamilton favored a strong central government and the promotion of manufacture, while Republicans preferred securing the states’ powers and sticking to the agriculture foundation of the Union. Consequently, such ideological divisions have established “the dual party system under which the U.S. operates today” (Pearson).

Alexander Hamilton never achieved the highest position in office, but he was a few of America's Founding Fathers. He first joined the army during the Revolution and became an aide for George Washington. Hamilton quickly moved up in society. Political parties began to form during the struggle over ratification of the Federal Constitution of 1787. The attention changed for the creation of a new Federal Government to the question of how powerful the Federal Government would be. Led by the Secretary of Treasury Alexander Hamilton, a Federalist, really wanted a strong central government. Alexander Hamilton's view on human nature was shaped by his war experiences. People had their own hobbies, interests, and money put above patriotism and of the country. Another role that Hamilton played in establishing the U.S. Government was that he really depended on the United States developing a strong economy. In all, there were three roles Alexander Hamilton used in establishing the U.S Government which were forming a strong central government, his view on human nature, and developing a strong economy.

Few Americans are aware of the profound impact Alexander Hamilton had on our nation’s development with his creation of multiple, important institutions. Hamilton, a true Founding Father of our nation, is primarily accountable for the design and establishment of Federal institutions, especially for the financial system which helped form the states into a nation. These creations of his helped put this nation on its path toward an industrial economy. Hamilton wanted a manufacturing economy founded on financial principles. He played a key role in shaping President George Washington’s foreign policy based on American self-interest.

In the late 1700s, Alexander Hamilton was appointed Secretary of Treasury by George Washington. It can be assessed whether or not Alexander Hamilton was more influential than George Washington in those first years under the Constitution. Alexander Hamilton set up multiple ways to pay off the nation’s immense debt. Hamilton founded the Bank of the United States which is known today as the Federal Reserve System. Hamilton influence also extended into making the United States a commercial nation instead of an agrarian one. Alexander Hamilton was a very important role in american history. Alexander was born on January 11th, 1755 in Nevis, British West Indies. He was the child of Rachel Faucett Lavien and James Hamilton. He started working at a very young age of 11 as a clerk. He later moved to Elizabethtown new jersey and also attended grammar school there. In 1774, he entered and graduated King's College in New York City in just one year.

Alexander Hamilton, the father of the American treasury system, a signer of the Constitution, one of the essential authors of the Federalist Papers, the man on the ten-dollar bill, and the failure of the infamous fight with Vice President Aaron Burr. This influential person made huge impacts of the American economy. Hamilton believed that what the United States needed was stability and order to progress as successful nation. When he was 12 he and his mother were bedridden by a sickness but Hamilton got better while is mother died. At age 16 he entered King’s Collage in 1773 and left school in 1774 to become a politician. The same year he wrote “A Full Vindication of the Measures of Congress" which defended the First Continental Congress.

In 1776, a man by the name Alexander Hamilton came to the United States for a better life. His life turned upside down when he met Aaron Burr. After meeting with Aaron Burr, he began to fight to unite our country and to create the United States. He succeeded and is recognized as one of our founding fathers. However, this wasn't his only life changing experience. His turning point in life was when he had an affair with another woman, Maria Reynolds. After two years of sleeping together, he publicly published a pamphlet speaking about the affair. Hamilton could not be president because of the affair. His wife was distraught by this entire incident. The situation only gets worse because it was under Mrs. Reynolds’ husband knowing consent.

Alexander Hamilton was one of our important founding fathers. You have probably heard of him from the Broadway show Hamilton. He has done a lot for our country that may go unrecognized.
