Why Is Ancient Egypt Worth Injustices?

All these important, mostly daily used, inventions have taken place since 1850. 150 years doesn’t seem so short now, does it? But, in reality it is. While it seems like a long period of time, it is only actually about three percent of human history. This paradox of the length of this time correlates to the changes of the times. While these inventions have all been created since 1850, there is something else that has not changed much. The way people think. In 1850, many people were focused on the successes of themselves, as evidenced by the way people abused other people as slave in order to acquire money and power. Nowadays, people are not abused by slavery, but instead by the corruption and need for power from others. It is rare to see someone think about the good of others before their own. I struggle with this often. In a world where success is perceived as getting good grades and gaining acceptance into a top college and eventually a high-paying job, it is simple for me to forget about other people. I will often ignore other’s requests for something as simple as a picture of the assignment due, just because I am focusing on my own work instead. In a way, how is this different from people such as the Grimke family gaining power through slavery? We both are ignoring the needs and good of others in order to achieve what we think is success ourselves. Through ignoring the good of others, I am focusing on pushing myself towards what the idea of success is nowadays. But, is this really success? The museum has always been a place for all different types of people from the public to go and appreciate art and feel reconnected with the past. People may go to the museum for these reasons or a variety of others. But for whatever reasons they choose to go to the museum it always has an influence on that person’s relationship between them and the history they viewed. Specifically speaking the museum has a big influence on the public and Ancient Egypt. The museum is already a place of history and mystery and Ancient Egypt is one of the most mysterious ancient cultures. With so little known about these ancient people it only makes sense that the museum would be a good place to strengthen that feeling of mystery.

Moreover, due to the high specialization of the workers, the efficiency of the overall production was decreased as well. As different specific processes were needed for the creation of a good, a single person could not effectively complete the tasks by himself and would depend on others to finish them. During the 19th Century in Europe, workers were drowned by their employers with too much work. This treatment was especially to those who had nothing give but their labour. A worker was not seen upon as anything important for the owners of the big factories. Owners knew that workers only needed wages just to feed their stomach and could not care less. Many famous people are continually raising questions about women social and economic equality. But was it always like this? As a matter of fact, women in ancient Egypt have had many privileges compare to other civilisation of the same time. According to Janet H. Johnson, women could be responsible for their action in the court of law, they could own and sell a property, and in the case of a divorce, men must pay the amount he promised. On the contrary, in Mesopotamia and Babylon, women were more like a slaves and servants. Ancient historian Herodotus stated in his scripts that Egypt had advanced social structure considering all the rights and freedoms women had there.

The people in Ancient Egypt created their complex religion based on their gods and goddesses that they believed in. The Ancient Egyptians had a deep belief in the supernatural and that their lives were controlled by their gods. In Ancient Egypt, there use to be an Upper Egypt and a Lower Egypt because they both believed in different religions. Each day, the priests performed ceremonies for the gods and goddesses. Before they performed the ceremonies, they washed themselves in the temple's sacred lake. Also, they scented the air with incense and sprinkled holy water before the shrine to purify the space. There are still millions of people in the world who still visit these temples in Ancient Egypt.
