The great William Shakespeare lived during a time of many noted and influential people such as Pocahontas, King James I, and Sir Walter Raleigh. Even though Pocahontas was born during the later years of Shakespeare’s life, interesting correlations exist between the playwright and the Indian princess. King James I of England wrote about witches, which gave some background information for Shakespeare’s Tragedy of Macbeth. As the special guest of Queen Elizabeth I, it is likely that Sir Walter Raleigh watched some of Shakespeare’s plays presented at court. The daughter of a Native American chief, the King of England, and the famous explorer, all lived and gained notoriety during the lifetime of William Shakespeare.

William Shakespeare was born to John Shakespeare and Mary Arden, a shoemaker and a daughter of an affluent farmer in 1564. He was born on April 23, and baptised two days later. William attended the local grammar school, the King's Scchool. He was born and lived in a smal town called Stratford-upon-Avon about 100 miles west of London. Shakespeare had three younger brothers and two older sisters. Shakespeare never attended University. Because of the lack of records of when Shakespeare was a child,some people question his existence.

He is known for the 37 plays he wrote and his 154 sonnets which are often recreated and studied today. Reading can seem very monotonous and boring if you’re not impacted by the text. A writer has to lay a foundation to pull their reader in and paint an imaginative picture in their reader’s head in order to bring a story to life. William Shakespeare was nowhere shy of doing these things. He compared aspects of life such as love, time, nature, death and even sickness to each other to create themes and importance to his poems. Many of them show strong feelings which showed the strong passion he had for writing. His passion carries along today because it painted a picture for new writers to create works that would change literature and views of life altogether. What made Shakespeare’s works so successful is his use of imagery and how he laid a path for English literature with his influential quotes and language.

In his lifetime he married Anne Hathaway, had three children, two girls but the boy died in early boyhood, he joined a bunch of groups, he learned Latin and a little bit of Greek. Shakespeare wrote his first poems only because the theaters was closed due to the plague. During writing his poems he invented thousands of words. Often combing words that are in different languages such as Latin and Greek. Some of the words that he created are; arch-villain, birthplace, and bloodsucking. His poems were described as " immortalization of beauty and love in poetry." He created 5 long narrative poems. Shakespeare is often known by England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon." He went to King's new school. After the birth of his twins, there where no records recorded, these years were called the "Lost Years." There are some theories for the sudden disappearance. One was that he went into hiding for poaching animal skins from his landlord. Another theory is that he was working

In the article , “Was William shakespeare just a pseudonym”. Henry James once stated “I am… haunted by the conviction that the divine William is the biggest and most successful fraud ever practice on a patient world.”. There is two sides of the controversy that William was not what he said he was. In conclusion I agree with the Oxfordians that Shakespeare was just an actor not a poet and playwright.

So by analyzing his genius in poetry and style, scholars and ordinary readers alike, try to understand the genius in the poet. There is very little known of Shakespeare’s personal life or feelings he had about himself. This being so a lot of scholars focus on his style and way of saying things to try and get a better understanding of Shakespeare the person. Many scholars have tried to get an insight into shakespeare by analyzing how and what he wrote. Many poets use poetry as a way to express their feelings and emotions, so readers of Shakespeare should be able to start to grasp a picture of who he was by reading his poetry and paying attention to the similarities and unique differences of his work to the norm of the day.

Love is one of many components of Shakespeare’s life shown in the sonnets. Love can be defined in many ways other than a strong affection for a lover. In Shakespeare’s sonnets, the concept of love can be seen through many uncommon means such as the love of life before death in “Sonnet 73,” love in marriage in “Sonnet 116,” love through sexual desire in “Sonnet 129,” and love through nature in “Sonnet 130,” proving that love can be expressed through many different feelings and emotions.
