It is very easy to determine Shakespeare’s feelings and emotions through his sonnets. It is still a big mystery on his personal life, no one really knows much about him besides being an amazing writer. One shocking thing I learned is that he was in fact gay. He was in love and admired The Prince. In many of his sonnets he mentions the Fair Youth and how he is attracted to him. Shakespeare reveals his feelings towards the Prince in his sonnets. He states that nature’s own hand created him. He describes all of his features and compares them to a woman. In his sonnet he says “By adding one thing to my purpose nothing,” Shakespeare is saying nature made a mistake by adding that one extra thing(males part).Shakespeare believe that The Prince is meant to be a woman. The one extra thing that nature added prevents Shakespeare from being with the Fair youth. He ends the sonnet by saying “But since she prick’d thee out for women’s pleasure, mine be thy love and thy love’s use their treasure.” Even though he is

As the special guest of Queen Elizabeth I, it is likely that Sir Walter Raleigh watched some of Shakespeare’s plays presented at court. A writer has to lay a foundation to pull their reader in and paint an imaginative picture in their reader’s head in order to bring a story to life. William Shakespeare was nowhere shy of doing these things. He compared aspects of life such as love, time, nature, death and even sickness to each other to create themes and importance to his poems. Many of them show strong feelings which showed the strong passion he had for writing. His passion carries along today because it painted a picture for new writers to create works that would change literature and views of life altogether. What made Shakespeare’s works so successful is his use of imagery and how he laid a path for English literature with his influential quotes and language.

In the article , “Was William shakespeare just a pseudonym”. Henry James once stated “I am… haunted by the conviction that the divine William is the biggest and most successful fraud ever practice on a patient world.”. There is two sides of the controversy that William was not what he said he was. In conclusion I agree with the Oxfordians that Shakespeare was just an actor not a poet and playwright.

This occurs not long before he first thought of the play. Shakespeare grew up in the United Kingdom, a predominately Catholic society. Despite time passing, this suffering still seeped into his work. Shakespeare’s writing holds grim themes as a result, such as Fate and Apathy. Shakespeare has also become an icon of the concept “Tragic Hero.” A Tragic Hero, as defined by Aristotle, is “a person who must evoke a sense of pity and fear in the audience. He is considered a man of misfortune that comes to him through error of judgment”(Janko, 1987). Shakespeare uses mortality

He accepts her essentially, because of her mediocracy. At times, he is outraged by her additional lovers, but he still is wrapped around her finger. He blames himself for staying with her even though the relationship is toxic and copes with her infidelity. Shakespeare turns the traditional feeling of a love sonnet to that of hatred, resentment, and lust. It seems more in line with the reality and harshness of falling in love, as opposed to the traditional googly-eyed admiration of a lover. Since Shakespeare avoids this fictional theme, he gives readers a good reason to believe his Sonnets may actually be true.
