It was unnecessary for the united states of america to join the world war 1. The united states getting into ww1 t actually made the war last longer. The united states was not in any real danger in the first world war. Germany had no long range weapons or planes that could come close enough to america to do anything to it or a big enough navy that could hurt america. So why fight an enemy that isn't a threat to you that money and time could have been spent on actual problems that affected america . 53,402 american soldiers died in battle and 63, 114 deaths for other reasons such as illness resulting in a total of 116,516 deaths. In ww2 405,399 deaths happened. That's more than 3 times the amount of deaths from ww1. Just imagine how hard it must have been for all those families to deal …show more content…
They could have put that money towards something else. The united states remained neutral during ww2 until japan bombed pearl harbor. They entered ww2 because of this reason and for what why enter now except for revenge but it's one thing to attack a military base like the Japanese did and a completely different thing to drop weapons of mass destruction on regular people that had nothing to do with the war. The united states dropped two atomic bombs killing over 200,000 thousand people . the bombs did so much more then just kill it destroyed buildings, houses, schools, playgrounds everything within its area of damage. It wiped out animals plants some of those areas are so radiated that even if you wanted to build back what was destroyed you couldn't , you couldn't Evan be there without certain clothing like hazmat suits or you'd die. The radiation also caused children, people to suffer from mutations . What did these innocent people do to deserve this it was a complete over kill as if there wasn't enough death. These bombs changed the world and not in a good way. If america did not enter the war there would be a lot less deaths and damage that the world would be better off
World War I was the result of leaders' aggression towards other countries which was supported by the rising nationalism of the European nations. Economic and imperial competition and fear of war prompted military alliances and an arms race, which further escalated the tension contributing to the outbreak of war. One cause of the World War was militarism, which is a policy in which military preparedness is of primary significance to a situation. Another cause of the World War was nationalism. Nationalism is the pride and devotion form one towards his/her country. It played a great part in the causes of World War 1 because citizens wanted to stand up for their country, and fight for them. The third
World War 1 was a war that lasted from 1914 to 1918 and was a war that involved and was molded around alliances. This war in Europe would eventually turn into a global war that would involve 32 countries. United States involvement was crucial to the outcome of World War 1 and made a serious impact in our country. Both positive and negative effects were felt by Americans during and even long after the war. Mixed feelings were felt from many Americans for entering the war that would affect society.
World War I, a war that started out locally in Europe between Austria-Hungary and Serbia that later ended up including thirty two different nations. This war has been around for almost a century and yet the causes of it are still being debated. There are many different scenarios that have been considered. Some of the key reasons that were believed to have instigated WWI were nationalism, imperialism, militarism, and an arrangement of treaties. Also the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand was believed to be one of the immediate causes.
Great War, also known as The First World War, lasted for four year (1914 to 1918). It brought a huge development of war technics and weapons. More number of countries had been involved in the Great War than any previous war. It involved the mobilization of the whole nations, not just an enormous army that turned the war into a “total war”. (Clare 6) However, historians are still arguing about the major cause of the World War I. The major cause will be one of the four long-term causes of WWI, which are Militarism, Alliance, Imperialism, and Nationalism. In my opinion, the two major causes would be Alliance and Nationalism. Alliance is an association between two or more countries for mutual benefits that formed with different treaties, while
I believe America’s involvement with World War I was justified. America’s entry into WWI started because of a violation that the Germans broke, this violation was the usage of war submarines in the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea. Another important incentive of America’s involvement was Germany’s attempt to entice Mexico to revolt against America. Because of these actions of the Germans, it led president Wilson to declare war.
The Report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on Social Insurance and Allied Services, known commonly as the Beveridge Report was an influential document in the founding of the Welfare State in the United Kingdom. It changed the state function by expanding National Insurance and with the creation of the National Health Service.
Before World War 1, the US experienced significant changes. As a result of the Spanish American War, the US gained much territory and began expanding into the Pacific Islands in a small amount of time. American expansionism in the late 19th and early 18th centuries was a continuation of past American expansionism because of the idea of 'Manifest Destiny', spreading US ideas, and acquiring territory for economic gain but it fostered change in the way the land was acquired and the location of acquired lands. One was American expansionism fostered continuity was the extension belief in 'Manifest Destiny'. The US wanted to acquire territory because it was the 'fittest' of all nations as seen in Document 2.
I feel like the U.S. should not have joined World War 1. I think the reasons we joined the war were not big enough reasons to send our soldiers to war over. I believe our reasons for joining the war are good reasons, but still not good enough to send people into battle to lose their lives for.
The U.S entering World War 1 was justified. The United States didn't decide to get involved until a couple Americans died because the Germans sunk the Lusitania which was carrying about 173 tons of war munitions for Britain and contained American soldiers, 128 died. Second, it was the Zimmermann Telegram, Germany told Mexico to declare war on America which outraged them, and lastly, Germans would sink anything that goes in their way with their submarines. I believe it’s good they fought or else we wouldn't have our freedom or money back from Britain. They created a marine warfare by shooting down anything that
World War I, also known as the “Great War” was a global affair that started in Europe. This tragedy began August 1st, 1914 with Germany declaring war on Russia for multiple reasons. The acronym M.A.I.N is used to analyze the war and the four causes for why it happened. M-militarism, which was building a stronger military that was always prepared for war. A-alliances, were agreements between countries to keep peace among the Great Powers. I-imperialism, when nations seek to take over other countries politically, economically, and socially. Last N-nationalism, which is believing people should be loyal to their own country or nation. The top two underlying causes of World War I are alliances and nationalism because of how they effectively impacted
Have you ever planned something to protect against a problem but it backfired? The intended use became a major reason that the situation went horribly wrong. For instance, say you do homework early so you don’t stress out later. When you go through it right away, you accidentally missed important directions. After you finish the project, you feel accomplished until find out that you did it wrong. Now you have even less time than if you just procrastinated before, and you don’t know how to fix your original project or start all over. That’s pretty much what happened to cause World War I. Alliances and treaties, nationalism, and quick reactions led to a series of events that started World War I.
World War I, or the Great War, was one of the largest widespread wars in all of world history. However, it set the path for World War II when other countries came to blame Germany and thus crushing their government and economy, and amassed large destruction over multiple countries in Europe, such as Britain, France, and Germany, especially. It is important to understand how these wars came to be. During a dispute between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, which led to the assassination of the Austria-Hungarian leader Archduke Franz Ferdinand, years of separate alliances, bad international relations, and growth of arms all brought up the then inevitable outbreak of World War I.
In today’s digital age, development of new technology and weapons are at an alarming rate, hence arises the need to stay ahead of advancements in order to properly defend the nation, as well as coalition forces and allies. In this period of warfare, the number one threat comes in the form of air breathing and ballistic missiles. During World War II, this threat was present, but was not thought to be prevalent.
When war broke out, there was no way the world could possibly know the severity it would have taken on the people of the world. Fortunately one country saw and understood that Germany and its allies would have to be stopped. America’s Involvement in World War II not only contributed in the downfall of the insane Adolph Hitler and his Third Reich, but also came at the best time and moment. If the United States entered the war any earlier the consequences would probably have been worse.
