When I first heard about this assignment, I thought it would be very fun and interesting, When I had to choose an event, it was a hard decision to make on what event I should do. The YMCA event caught my eyes and I thought it was going to be exciting to be able to participate this event. The assignment is a great opportunity for the class to learn how to promote health in a community.
Some similar event that I have done is where I volunteered at my old high school club where my club and I created a haunted house for kids to enjoy. We decorated, had candy, and dress up to scare the kids. The haunted house was for family to come and enjoy Halloween. It was a success and I had lots of fun being part of the event.
For this assignment the concern
I have chosen the Hockomock Area YMCA Invensys Foxboro Branch for my internal communication design project. The reason I chose this organization is because of my personal experience working as a front desk representative. My experience as an employee and member have allowed me to discuss and observe issues this organization faces. This organization lacks effective communication which leads to a hostile and difficult work environment. The organization also fails to acknowledge employees which leads to a high employee turn-over rate. This organization could see a lot of positive differences if they were to utilize an internal communication design program.
The YMCA has a very clear and concise mission statement. Their mission is "to put Christian principles into practice through programs thta build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all".
I would like to propose a health fair to improve the quality of life and prevention of the congregational community with the collaboration of community vendors. This document is intended to provide an outline of the program, objectives and what incentives will be the most important for its success. The mission is to improve the quality of life with early detection and prevention.
To volunteer at special events such as Health and Wellness fairs, festivals, parades and fundraisers:
This report will confront the issue at the Sheridan County YMCA and its lack of space for its After School Program. Over the last eight years since the program’s start it has become a wonderful opportunity for families in need of childcare in the hours between the children’s release from school and when they get off work. The program has gained a promising reputation, that being said, it has also gained a hefty waitlist of parents in hopes of their children being accepted into the program.
For the volunteering assignment, I chose two volunteering events: the “Norcal Community College Counselor Breakfast” and the “CSUEB Education Summit.” Both of these events are being held on the California State East Bay Campus. They are both classified as special events, and they are both hosted by the Prospective Student Services Department. Although each of these events has a specific focus, they are both directly related to addressing the needs of prospective CSUEB students.
Typically in October the music scene I am a part of in Bloomington throws a 'Halloween themed cover show.' It gives people who are 'too old' to trick-or-treat something fun and enjoyable to do. Local bands from Bloomington will dress up as another band and cover song that they have written.
Halloween party- At the Chanhassen Rex Center halloween party I helped out by running a game and handing out prizes, I also helped with the clean up
This event will have events for all ages. Everyone needed to focus on his or her health and live a healthy lifestyle. Studies have shown that a healthy lifestyle can pay a role in preventing or delaying diseases/events associated with heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Living a healthy lifestyle is not just for adults, children can also benefit from a healthy lifestyle. Teaching children how to live healthy at a young age will carry them a long way in life. This event will give me the opportunity to participate in events that will help the community take control of their health one step at a

There have been multiple occasions when Beverly has been approached to help with a project, and without hesitation, she jumps right in once she has completed her own assignments. One such occasion was the Chief’s Challenge, 2015. The Chief’s Challenge, an annual health and wellness initiative, is an enormous undertaking and Beverly volunteered to join the committee and become the verifier of information for activity
It was a part of Alternative Spring Break Program’s Active Citizen Week, which is a week of events that encourage students to do more in the community.
This campaign will be a non-profit organization for children and their families to be able to engage in healthy activities for their children to engage in. They will be provided with health education on healthy foods for their children to make sure they are eating properly. In order for t this campaign to be successful and a help to others we will need hands on deck. Our teachers, caregivers, and parents will all have to communicate with each other so that changes can be made for every child to succeed within this program. As the developer of this campaign, I will ensure that all education information is current, activities are tailored to the different communities across the country, and available to other countries as well.
When I started reading the description of this program, the first word that appeared amazing to me, was “Vancouver”. At that moment, I knew that this program was going to give students something special. In addition, there are many reasons why I would like to participate in the YMCA Youth Exchange Program. Furthermore, when looking at the selection criteria, it states how this program is for students who have faced long term obstacles that have presented many challenges, which I can easily relate to. Family circumstances, was a challenge for me towards my academic success. This is because of my brother. He is the child in our family who does extremely poorly in his academic studies which involves my family to focus more on his education and
This project I have learned lots about health community promotion from the five principles to the level of spectrum of preventions. I was able to utilized what I learned from class and take it with me to use it during the event. From the kids and parents, I interacted it was really a great moment for parent to tell me so many things about their kids. I learn so much other than their name, form what they like, what they don’t like, and what they want to do. Kids were lots of fun where I learned about their life where they tell me stories and I was amazed for some like one kid who never play bowling and had the chance to play at the event was grateful and had lots of fun. It is truly inspiring that what we do for the community can give opportunity for an individual to achieve. I also learned from the TAs and the professor giving advice on what to do and how we attract kids to join the activity. Professor taught me how to get kids to join the activity by acting you needed help and the kids will help which got that kid into the activity, it was fun tactic
