Zach Flash is a model student here at North Atlanta, representing our very best. He is our 2016 JROTC Battalion Commander and with a 250 person program under his influence, and what a great influence that is. Last year as an Executive Officer he helped lead JROTC to 12th place in the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl national competition. Aside from JROTC he is in a slew of other student organizations including: Students of Excellence leaders, ACE member for school (Ambassadors and Champions of Excellence) Football leadership team, Student Athletic Leadership Team and the Rifle Team captain. In all of the business of being a leader in and out of the school Zach stated that “Time management. Very very effective time management. It’s all about
Zach was one of the only few to attend law school. Zachery has a mentor by the name of Clayton Forrest, a white lawyer that wants to help Zachery Taylor pursue his dream of being a lawyer. Zachary Taylor decides that he likes Lily later after they build a strong relationship but he quotes “Lily, I like you better than any girl I’ve ever known, but you have to understand, there are people who would kill boys like me for even looking at girls like you.” This quote is significant to me because it shows that Zach has dedication for the Civil Rights Movement. He later decides to ask Lily to go see a movie with him and she says yes. But right before they both enter the Zach Taylor gets arrested because he is seen with Lily a white girl and he’s black. They beat him up then take him away. He later gets taken out of jail on a bail from his mentor Clayton Forrest. He comes back more determined when he gets out of jail more determined than ever. He decided to keep his distance
Riverdale is an American television program that is based primarily on the Archie comics which were first released in the 1940’s. The comics focus largely on a love triangle between the three main characters, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Archie Andrews. Unlike the television show, Betty and Veronica see one another as frenemies and are constantly at odds over Archie, who is never at fault for any of the mishaps that happen. The Archie comics were never big advocates of feminism and instead focused primarily on Archie and the two female characters invented to fight over him, cementing the idea that girls are only around to win boys affection. In contrast, Riverdale the television show focuses on Betty and Veronica as friends instead of frenemies and builds upon the idea that girls are smart, capable, and are stronger when they work together. The new television spin on the original comics brings together the old characters and main plot points and puts an innovative feminist attitude towards them to mesh them with the beliefs and issues of today’s society. The characters in this show are much more than the typical jock, nerd, good, bad stereotypes that are commonly depicted in teenage dramas viewed on the television today. The women of Riverdale prove that for positive change to take place, friendship must take precedent and sticking together as girls is the most important aspect of driving forward social change.
It can come from being in charge in a school project for language arts literacy or running a fundraiser to help raise awareness to a disease. They take charge in something with an effective sense and choose to embrace their acts of self assessment. What their group or themselves is good at,their weaknesses and strengths.Once they figure that out, everything goes smoothly.Even from a project once the topic is clearly explained and managed by the leader there is no problem getting across from the littlest of obstacles. True acts of leadership here in Terence C Reilly, is not being carried out by bad influences. They have a good ethic of relations with other classmates and prove to work collaboratively.Although teamwork and cooperation is part of a leadership, it all leads up to an effective communication within others.Students have different leadership skills, but never do it in a bad way. They are integrated and not even in schoolwork do they have to be leaders. You can hall moniter and you’re the leader of the hallway or perhaps setting up a new fundriser you had created. You are managaing something for
In the TV show of Riverdale, the main character, Archie Andrews, is much like Socrates because both of their decisions are based on whether to save themselves or to benefit society. The basis of this is that Archie has to decide whether to do something that goes against his best interest, (due to the societal torment both him and Miss Grundy will receive if their relationship is discovered) but will help society as a whole (by finding out information to help with the murder), or do the opposite and help himself, but not help society. This connects to Plato’s argument in the Crito as Socrates has to make a similar decision on whether to save himself, and hurt society, or save society and let himself die.
Who school leaders are – what they do, attend to, or seem to appreciate is constantly watched by students, teachers, parents, and members of the community. Their interests and actions send powerful messages. They signal the values they hold. Above all else, leaders are cultural “teachers” in the best sense of the word. (Deal & Peterson, 1990, p. 201)
Another example of Zack’s popularity is shown by his likeness at his school. Winnifred explains the many things Zack was proficient at during his time in school “He was athletic, won races, amassed trophies. He got lead parts in school plays. He won class elections. And he was beautiful” (Wilson 103).
Zach is a student at the middle school and is a bully to cap. Zach gets school because of the way he acts to Cap. He was schooled because on page 67 it shows that Cap was meditating and Zach thought it
Most students seek to define themselves in the positions they gain, whether it is being president of a certain club or captain of a sports team, but Travis is unique in that he sees leadership differently. He thinks that the best leaders are those who are a part of their followers. He doesn’t lead by being at the head of a crowd. He leads by walking with them, sometimes lingering at the back to make sure everyone makes it. He is truly a man of the people. I have experienced this firsthand. I am one of those typical high achievers. I have so many positions that it requires two hands to count them all, but I frequently find that Travis does a far better job in leading. I am the student representative for the Governor’s School students at FCHS and it is my responsibility to keep everyone informed of events and bring any issues the students have to administration. It is my job to help students wherever possible, yet I find that most student seek help and advice from Travis. And I understand why. Travis makes everyone around him comfortable. He will go out of his way to be a helping-hand, a confidant, a friend. He is incredibly trustworthy, loyal, and kind. Travis is the kind of person who brings everyone up with
Zachariah is the Seahawk's cook, surgeon, and only black man. Originally from Africa, he is around 50 years old (the oldest on the ship), cannot read, and knows very little about Christianity. (He does like the story of Jonah, though.) He's also, as it turns out, Charlotte's closest ally on the Seahawk. Zachariah gives Charlotte the dirk (a knife) for protection and sews for her a miniature set of sailor clothes. Unlike Captain Jaggery or her father, Zachariah presents himself not as Charlotte's superior, but as her equal. He becomes a trustworthy friend and a loyal mentor. As he's the one singled out and punished for the crew's mutiny, Zachariah also becomes a compelling figure of sacrifice who is thought to be dead by Charlotte and Captin
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader” - John Quincy Adams. Eric Troy is a very inspiring and motivational speaker. Over the course of one a hour session I learned so many valuable lessons that I will use in life. I learned many things like the characteristics of a global leader, how to be a better leader, and how to write a one year action plan. Mr. Troy has inspired me to be a leader, not just a leader but a global leader.
One who may be viewed as evil is someone who enjoys hurting others and may not think about the consequences their actions towards someone or something may do to harm or affect the people around them. Through the book “Z for Zachariah” written by Robert O'Brien one of the two main characters Mr Loomis some may consider as evil. The other main character is young female called Ann who lives on her own until Mr Loomis entered the valley. Through the book, Mr Loomis has proven to be evil firstly because he had attempted to shoot Ann while she was doing him a favour because he had driven Ann out of her own home by an attempt of rape she came back each day to the garden to take care of the plants and animals giving him half the resources and the other
Leader and determined, are two words to describe Scott. Scott has mastered the role of student with ease. It has been a pleasure to know Scott throughout his high school career. He is a student who has needed minimal direction and truly loved high school from day one. As a freshman, Scott entered high school motivated, driven and ready to get involved. He is a goal oriented individual and continues to reach his goals with tremendous success. Throughout his life, just as in high school, he is involved with various activities. Each one highlights talents and strengths of Scott that I have seen grow throughout the past several years.
I have been able to watch Cody as he has grown from a rather shy junior high student into a mature, positive senior high student. Cody is the student that younger students want to emulate. Cody shows others that hard work will pay off. In the classroom, in athletics, and in other school groups, students see Cody at work. He does not need to be the "star" to be noticed. For example, he works hard with a group whose purpose is to reduce student use of alcohol consumption in our school. The presence of Cody (and others like him) gives a sense of importance to the group. The group is having success, not because of a leader, but because of numerous respected students, like Cody, who are there every day spreading the message though their words and
Ildefonso has proven to be a servant leader since his high school days. From day one, he had committed himself to going to college and inspiring his peers on campus to become college bound, focused and prepared. He has been committed to getting all of his peers excited about attending college and has proven his abilities as a leader on and off the campus. For example, Ildefonso decided to take a leadership role and start the first Be A Leader Club on his campus. Due to his focus and energy, hundreds of his campus colleagues have become active members of our Be
The leader of the group, P, had been new to this particular group of kids the year before, but by the end of the year had a good system in place and was very active in the classroom. This year, he is
