            The Declaration of Independence drafted by Thomas Jefferson and adopted by the Second Continental Congress expresses the thirteen American colonies desire to disjoin from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson was made in order to give the colonists a way to break free from the shackles of King George. Therefore, young children should be guided through multiple techniques in order to attain independence, self-discipline, and initiative. I believe that by promoting individuality as well as relying on consequences will allow young children to strengthen their independence. Through consequences, young children learn that what we do affects ourselves or peers. Another factor that needs to be considered when strengthening independence would be avoiding unmet needs. As we help young children to understand their own needs we are helping guide them to solving the problem and gaining what they require in order to be successful.

The declaration of Independence is what shaped and provided the freedom the United States of America has today. The Declaration of Independence today is looked at a symbol for America to reflect on as it paved the way for most of the rights we have today. This document has been fundamental to american history longer than any other text because it was the first text to use “The United States of America” and in a sense the Declaration was the birth certificate of the American nation. It embodied what came to be viewed as the most memorable and clear statement of the ideals on which America was founded: the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, while also the first successful declaration of independence in world history.

The US Constitution, The Declaration of Independence as well as the Letter to the Danbury Baptist are not just historical documents, but some of if not the most important documents of the history of our nation. Although, similar in many facets the intentions and the goal pursued by each highlight their individuality. The fact that the Declaration of Independence was the first to be implemented and signed is of significant importance as it set the pace and put in motion the proceeding documents that followed. Ultimately, my goal is to not only show their comparisons or where they may contrast, but to highlight what makes these documents profound and therefore still relative and valid even today.

The Declaration of Independence, completed and signed in July of 1776, marked the official separation between the 13 colonies and Great Britain. The appropriate practice to help a fourth grader to be responsible is creating a worksheet. I will explain to the student that this worksheet will be my responsibilities. The paper will have four big squares. In each square there will be certain responsibilities. The 1st square will be titled in class I am responsible for. Prior to the American Revolution the colonists sent a series of grievances to King George III between 1754 and 1776, addressing their complaints against the government in Britain. After the people of America were urged to separate from the Crown, they formally compiled their charges against the government in the Declaration of Independence, which made the split from Great Britain valid due to social, political, and economic reasons. Although, some may think it was not a necessity to separate from Britain because the Americans were better off economic and land wise, the colonists perceived their arguments extremely valid, therefore making their claims justifiable.

The American Revolution was not only a battle between the British and the colonists; it was a historical movement that brought about new ways of thinking. The ideas of liberty and equality began to be seen as essential to the growth of the new nation. The separation of the American colonies from the British Empire occurred for a number of reasons. These reasons are illustrated in the Declaration of Independence. Although Thomas Jefferson wrote the document, it expressed the desire of the heart of each colonist to be free of British rule. British rule over the colonies became unbearable in the early months of 1776, making it clear to the colonists that it was time to either give in

It wasn’t easy that easy to unite the colonies however, in the 1750s colonist were generally divided on their preference. According to the essay called Road to Independence, “American public opinion was strongly divided in the spring of 1775 on the question of independence from Great Britain.” (Road 1). While the “radical” belief to break off from Britain was spreading, there was plenty of loyalty to the king remaining; especially within the southern states. Georgia was one of the states which had the most loyalist within it.

The Declaration of Independence brought America its independence, and it self, as well as our constitution. The declaration of independence had many positive effects on America. The Declaration of Independence is the usual name of a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. This stated that the thirteen American colonies, called themselves the thirteen newly independent sovereign states, and that they were no longer a part of the British Empire. Instead of staying in the British Empire, they formed a new nation; the United States of America. Many people wanted independence, but John Adams really believe in and pushed for independence. America’s independence was approved on July 2, 1776. A committee of five had already wrote a draft of the declaration, so it was ready when Congress voted on independence. The term "Declaration of Independence" is not used in the document itself, but is explained and perceived.

The Declaration of Independence was written to explain, why colonies chose to separate from Great Britain. In the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson explains that if the government becomes unfair and controlling, a body of people have the right to change governments. Jefferson organized his argument in a format of writing an essay. He organized his document with an introduction, body, and conclusion.

We can help the child attain independence by giving opportunity for him to work with the materials by himself, by directing him towards a given end to develop his will, by giving him constructive work to help him in developing discipline, by letting him know and have an understanding of what is good and bad and also giving him freedom to reveal himself completely by playing only passive role.
