13 Minutes Book Review The book I read was 13 Minutes. It was written by Sarah Pinborough. It was 343 pages long. 13 Minutes was a very action-packed book. It changed the point of view each chapter. It was about a girl named Natasha Howland. She was the most popular girl in school and was part of a group of three girls called the “Barbies”. She was pulled out of a river after being dead for thirteen minutes. When Tasha gets to the hospital, she is in a coma. Her two other Barbies, Hayley and Jenny, and her ex-best friend, Becca, have gone to visit her. When Tasha finally wakes up, everyone is in a panic, but she only asks if Becca had been there. When she had gotten a little better, she started to go through therapy. Tasha had said she had …show more content…
Natasha has been feeling like Hayley and Jenny don’t want to be friends anymore, so she goes back to Becca. Together, Natasha and Becca try to find out how she got in the river. Later on, everyone was at play practice. Tasha wasn’t feeling good so she sat out. Becca’s best friend Hannah stepped in her place. When Tasha went to go move the overhead light, it came crashing down over Hannah. It killed her. Both the police and the girls had decided that Hayley and Jenny had led Tasha into the river and did something to the light for it to fall. The two girls were sent to prison and counseling for murder and attempted murder. After that, everything was going fine until Becca started to get a little suspicious. She asked the police if she could look over all the evidence again. She then came to the conclusion that Natasha had done all of it. She had thrown herself into the river and framed Hayley and Jenny, and she loosened the light so that it would fall. The police did not believe her. One night, Becca and Tasha went out into the woods. Becca was going to try and get her to confess. Natasha did end up confessing, but then she

I would recommend this book to other people because it may be 346 pages but goes way faster than you think. I would recommend it to people they love funny and sad book at the same time. It also a good read because you kinda relate to this person because these girls are you age and they go through jealous. At the end I would definitely would read again if got the

Angelyn Mitchell interprets Chopin’s work “The Story of an Hour” as a feminist piece of work. She believes that Chopin wants to prove the double conscience of females, which is when women connect their inner self with their outside and gain freedom. “In ‘The Story of an Hour,’ the quest for freedom is complicated by three important factors: biological determination, patriarchal social conditioning, and the patriarchal institution of marriage.” Mitchell uses Mrs. Mallard’s heart condition to show biological determination. “Richards, a friend of her husband, rushes to relate the sad news of his death before someone ‘less careful, less tender’ can do so.” Patriarchal social conditioning is shown by showing that Mrs. Mallard does not act as a woman

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, is about a boy who has been bullied his whole life and he decides to take matters into his own hands. He comes to school with guns and shots every person who has ever bullied him, except the girl he was in love with. This book is important to me because it shows what bullying and depression can make people do, how it can destroy many people’s lives. This book reminds me of real life, how depression can make people do awful things, but it doesn’t mean they are awful people. It shows how some people need help to be guided down the right path, which is what I try to do.
