Explain in your own words how the threat, the attack and the response to the September 11, 2001 attack moved American policing into the era of Homeland Security

During 9/11 a tragic event happened. Two planes were hijacked and crashed into the twin towers on a beautiful Tuesday. Everyone was surprised and shocked about what had happened on such a beautiful day in Manhattan. Now from the perspective of what was occurring inside the building, it was obvious people were unaware of what was happening. After a plane crashed into the first tower, people at the bottom floor got out of the building. In the other tower, some people were confused about what was going on. After someone came onto the intercom and told everyone in the building they were safe, and that everything was going to be fine, they told everyone on the bottom floor to go back up the building but, some others still remained

It was a normal day in New York City, with business workers rushing into the World Trade Center. They thought it was going to be like any other day in the office but they were wrong. These office workers were in for the biggest surprise of their life. Planes flown by hijackers crashed into both the Twin Towers, and the Pentagon was hit by a plane as well. Now there is a memorial in New York where the bases of the towers were honoring the people who died that day.

The day's events started with 19 men getting on 4 different flights. Those 19 men were part of the radical Islamic group Al-Qaeda (History.com staff). The first plane hit at 8:45 am on a bright sunny Tuesday morning (Anderson). The plane killed many people instantly. People on the 80th floor and above were trapped and could not get out. When the plane had hit it took out all the stairways so there was no way of getting down. 18 minutes after the first plane hit tower one a plane flew into the second tower. This time the plane hit directly in the middle of the building, cutting off many of the floors above (History.com staff). The people on the top floors of the towers were faced with a decision. 9/11 was the biggest terrorist attack that has ever been done on American soil. It killed hundreds of people, injured thousands, and forced nearly a million to evacuate their homes. It was a massive slaughter and marked an important moment in U.S. history.

“The 9/11 Report” by Sid Jacobson and Ernie Colon is a graphic adaptation of the Final Report of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. The graphic novel helps give a new insight on the events that lead up to the events on September 11, 2001. “The 9/11 Report” explains the contributing issues to the terrorist attacks that rocked the United States. This Intel entails the growth of Al Qaeda, the failure of the United States government/intelligence to discontinue Al Qaeda, and the inadequate planning from New York officials. There is not much known about the management of Al Qaeda but that Osama Bin Laden was the head of unit that murdered innocent people.

It’s a warm Sunday afternoon at Newark International Airport in Newark, New Jersey and my bags are filled with clothes like I am filled with excitement. I close my eyes and imagine the coastal calmess of Barcelona, tounges releasing the Catalan language while I strolled in awe. Take a turn and suddenly it’s the bustling streets of Paris, Seine River bridges and towering landmarks all in the name of liberté, fraternité, et égalité.

The September 2001 attack in the US that brought fear in this country and other parts of the world demands an increased effort to have a better security policy in the airports. Accordingly, one of the effect of the 9/11 terrorist attack was the government’s decision to come up with laws that are intended to provide better security for airline passengers. The success of the terrorists in planning and fulfilling the attack in September 2001 showed the weakness of the security system in the airports. The government has to respond with the passage of laws in order to deter further terrorism plans in the country. Further, there is also the implementation of guidelines about the screening of passengers and their baggages that may be inconvenient

The incident of 9/11 is considered as one of the most dreadful terror attack occurred in the recent years. It is believed that the attack was regulated by Al-Qaeda and its chief, Osama Bin-Laden. It happened on September 11, 2001, when 19 militants of Al-Qaeda, the Islamist extremist group hijacked four American planes. Someone is crying her name, the crisp voice breaking and he realizes the state she's in.
