Physical therapists determine a plan for rehabilitation for patients which may include stretching, strength training, exercises and physical manipulation. There has been a significant increase in the demand for physical therapists, the employment of physical therapists is projected to grow 34% between 2014 and 2024. Completing this project influenced my aspiration to become a physical therapist because it showed me how perfect this career would be for me, it showed me that being a physical therapist wouldn't even feel like work because I would enjoy the daily tasks and challenges such as giving motivation to patients and making them feel stronger and more confident in themselves. During the research of the project I read articles on other physical therapists such as Timothy DiFrancesco, former PT for the Los angeles lakers and also Emily Beyer, the team PT for the Minnesota Lynx, they kept saying how challenging it can be on a daily basis, whether it was trying to get athletes to work up to their limit or just simply trying to get the patients to trust them. Reading those articles made me tell myself that being a physical therapist was clearly challenging which is what I like, I believe that because physical therapy can be such a complex job it really influenced me to pursue a career in that
Ever since I was a kid, it has been my life goal to help as many people I can. I have moved around in many different areas of the medical field, but no career had caught my eye as much as physical therapy. As an athlete, I have been in and out of the physical therapist’s office for a majority of my life. Each time I have went I could not help but be beyond grateful for what these people have done for me; they have given me the ability to play the sport I love despite all the hiccups. Physical therapy is a dynamic field within the field of medicine because as a physical therapist one can make a difference in the lives of his or her patients, enjoy job security, and enjoy a rewarding and personally satisfying career.
I have always been passionate about helping people. This, coupled with the fact that my favorite subject has always been health, especially human anatomy, is the reason I decided I wanted to work within the medical field. I was in 8th grade when I decided that I wanted to become a physical therapist. As a physical therapy patient myself, I really connected with my therapist; she was caring and compassionate, put her patients’ needs first, and was dedicated to the excellence of her practice. She has had a huge influence on my decision to become a physical therapist. It was observing her that I realized I possess all those same qualities, and that I could excel in this profession.
Life can change in a split second when an unanticipated injury or disease hinders someone’s normal daily life. Modern medicine, physicians and families can only do so much but physical therapy can help recoup the life many of us take for granted. It often isn’t until we lose something that we as humans realize what we had such as the value of our body’s ability to take us through each day. A physical therapist is the person who stays with a patient for the duration of the rehabilitation process. A physical therapist leads the patient through the process of regaining physical strength and helps the patient regain control of their future. Much like many careers that involve interaction with individuals, physical therapy reaches beyond
The article that I chose was published by Mayo Clinic School of Health Science, the title of the article is “Physical Therapy”. The article informs the reader on the roles, goals, as well as the overall definition of a physical therapist. According to the article, “Physical therapists (PTs) work with patients who have impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes.” Therefore, a physical therapist works directly with the population that has a form of impairment in their movement, whether it is from an injury or an illness. The roles of a physical therapist are examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis
When considering the physical therapy career field, I concluded that my interests and skills are compatible with the career requirements in this field. My sisters friend whom I chose to interview for this paper, contributed to my interest in physical therapy. By doing this research I would like to learn the average pay for a physical therapist. Also, what are suggested classes for a physical therapist while in college? This research will help me better understand what a physical therapist does and will either help me lean towards or away from a career in this field.

There are many many careers to choose from in this world. Not all are for me though. There are three careers that I would consider doing. The most unlikely one is to play football professionally. Second is be a sports PT. Lastly I would like to be a banker.
Ever since I was young I knew I wanted to work with and help others. Now at that young age I imagined being a teacher or a veterinarian. As I’ve grown older I’ve discovered both those careers weren’t exactly what I wanted. My dreams have changed slightly but I do still have the same dream of helping others. I hope to go into the medical field and become a physical therapist. Physical therapy is a career that not only reaches my goal of helping others but reaches other goals I have developed as I’ve grown up. One thing I know now is that I want to be someone who helps people get back on track and become their best self. Along with that I hope to help prevent future injuries and issues.
Finding a career may be an imitating approach conversely, it may be the most important factor in the long run. The world offers thousands of various occupations that benefit everyone around them. The occupation I assume would benefit me also others around would be to become a Physical Therapist. Physical Therapists, also abbreviated as PTs, are sharply-intelligent health care providers who educate, rehabilitate, treat, and prevent their patients from pain in the human anatomy (American Physical Therapy Association). Aspiring physical therapists should take into consideration the duties, education, requirements, offering schools, salary, and alternate jobs to ensure their decision in this profession.

Not everyone will be able to be a doctor, or work on the space shuttles at NASA, but everyone has something that would actually suit them best. After doing the research into the field, and having it done on me, I have decided the career of Physical Therapy is one I can tackle with passion and empathy. A Physical Therapist is often referred to as a PT, and is one who helps rehabilitate people of all ages who have functional problems from damage to body (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2015). There are many different uses and areas that a physical therapist works in. they could
Throughout high school and half of my college career, I believed that I was going to be a physical therapist. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges this profession presented, as well as the sincere interactions with people and commitment to their health. However,
Being a Physical Therapist has been one of my long-term goals since I was in High school. I came across physical therapy as a child when I would visit my cousin who acquired multiple therapies. Seeing how he improved throughout the years gave me great joy and was intrigued about the therapy aspect. If accepted into a DPT program, I will be committed and manage my time wisely for the program so that I know I will succeed in school and as well as a Therapist.

Majority of the people that I know around my age are still trying to figure out what career they want to follow. However, when it comes to choosing a career for myself, I already know what I want to be, which is become a physical therapist. I decided I wanted to be a physical therapist since I took a health prevention class my sophomore year in high school. Being a physical therapist was the first and only career that I have ever shown any interest in, other than being a firefighter as a kid. The future for physical therapists seems to be bright. The reason being is that many people play sports which means more injures. Also, everyone gets old so they will have aching body parts. In my eyes the future of being a physical therapist is very gratifying.
