2. This genre is a combination of comedic drama, however it is primarily comedy, and dark comedy at that. Whether it be jokes or poking fun at others in the acts there is clear comedic nature in the writing. Characters poke fun at one another and act in flamboyant ways. I have to problem saying that this is a comedy despite its romantic plot and nature.

A romantic Comedy is described to be a humorous story about two people who are in-love or falling in-love with a kick of humor to spice up the romance. Romantic comedies can come about in many different ways, when two people meet or when theirs a conflict between the two and when people reunite with someone that they’ve been thinking about to live a happy ever after. Every love store has some type of humor of nature in it. It’s funny how life can lead you in a path of romance when you least expected. The unexpected romantic films can be the most exciting films to watch because you never know whats going to happen during the film.
Screwball comedy has elements of gender identities that are contrasting to those of film noir. First, there is the charming, self-confident woman in screwball whose optimistic, carefree tendencies contrast with film noir’s self-serving, manipulative seductress. Secondly, we have the screwball male. Ultimately he ends up with the charming female, but fate does not make his endeavors easy just as it does with the noir detective (citation). Despite the character similarities, a strong sense of synergy is evident with the sarcastic humor of screwball and the cynicism of film noir. The tempo of
With New Comedy or Romantic Comedy: as a drama concerning finding true love (usually young love). historically these stories have resulted in wedding. Booker makes a valorous try at an improved definition of comedy, however finds he cannot apply a similar plot structure to that likethe opposite basic plots. Instead, he loosely defines Comedy in terms of 3 stages: The story takes place in an exceedingly community wherever the relationships between folks (and by implication true love and beneathstanding) ar under the shadow of confusion, uncertainty, and frustration.
During this unit, my understanding of humor in literature evolved from believing that it was simply comic relief to grasping that humor is an entertaining method of conveying a universal truth through many different methods. Comedy comes in countless shapes and sizes, which all have different purposes and appeal to a variety of audiences. However, although the forms of humor are diverse, Springboard Activity 4.3 expresses that they can be categorized as either low comedy, which is "straightforward and generally easy to follow and understand"(1) or high comedy, which "can take a bit of reflection to realize the humorous intent"(4). Naturally, high and low comedy have different purposes in comedic literature. An author might use high comedy to

The true meaning of comedy is thought of in many different ways. The basic structure typically includes high spirits, the rise in fortune of a central character, and requires a happy ending (Simpson). There are different types of comedy, which include farce, satirical and romance. Farce means to contain foolish humor, satirical includes human corruption, and romantic comedy involves two young and likeable lovers (Simpson). This information is important because it helps classify the type of comedy a piece is. A quote from the book evidently shows how it relates to this definition and it is, “If then true lovers have ever crossed, it stands as an edict in destiny” (Shakespeare 1.1.152-153) . This quote follows the stated definition of comedy because the novel contains romance and two lovers as the main characters who run into obstacles on the way. Midsummer Night’s Dream fits this example because it is composed of each three genres of comedy. Shakespeare wrote this way to entertain and keep

The main type of play was ‘comedy’. This was a combination of high and low comedy. Plots based on coincidence and/or mistaken identities The characters usually puppets of fate. They were usually unable to get married because they were too poor or too rich. They would also suffer a loss of identity due to an accident. Another popular plot was where twins were separated and then they are unaware as to their double.
Once Williams made a name for himself, during his time at school, he rose in popularity rather fast. While he was at the start of his career, he would become so full of energy “[h]e probably needed some of those boosters’ to help maintain that fast-paced, energetic level of performance” (Herbert 65). Even though he was energetic enough and look as if to have unlimited jokes, he was said to have stolen other comedian jokes. Many other comedians would not perform in front of Williams in case he decided to steal their work. Ultimately, he began staying outside whichever club he was performing at that night so one could blame him for stealing jokes but, “there [appeared to be] some professional jealousy going on” (Herbert 67). Once this rivalry
This film was a social satire because it was a satire about too much ‘sexual freedom’ existing in the society. In the film, the exaggerated ways of displaying sexual freedoms (Bob openly telling Carol about his affair) that has a shocking way of condemning the many people in the society who forgot about their moral virtues. The film was ironic in that Ted and Alice who first were revolted by the behaviors of Bob and Carol, later on being influenced and showing the filthy side of greed and lust. This is a ridicule of how people who initially has the awareness of self-control later on being swayed by the repulsiveness of the society, forgetting morality. This film represents the later type of satire that it aims to not only criticize
Comedy to me is something that you see or hear that makes people laugh. What I find funny are impersonations, things that are expected or sarcastic jokes. Impersonations can mean the way someone talks, walks or acts. I personally find some accents to be hilarious and if someone imitates the accent, it will just crack me up., If its someone famous that everyone knows and if that person talks funny or walks funny, then it will cause other people to laugh because they know its true. An expected joke is when, someone tells a joke but you already know how its going to end so you start laughing before the joker finishes the joke. Sarcasm is probably the best jokes to me. Here’s one: A couple walks in a restaurant and the waiter says “Would you like
