In a zombie apocalypse a person needs survival skills to stay alive. There is even a book called “How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse.” This book tells the readers the skills they need for the disaster such as short hair, tight clothes, aim for the zombie head and blades. The same can be said for college. A person needs survival skills to become successful throughout college. The situation might not be as scary as a zombie apocalypse which is life threatening, but it can be just as serious. Students need to use college survival skills to help them make their college lives easier because, some students become overwhelmed with the work they are given and how to juggle their regular lifestyle with their college lifestyle. Some students even drop out because they can’t keep up with the college work. But, college students don’t get too scared because, there are some survival skills that are here to help college students: developing a sensible schedule, socializing and networking and taking the initiative.
For example, developing a sensible schedule would make a college student life more bearable. For example, in my schedule, I know what time the bus comes, so I will never miss it and become late for class. I also make time for studying and to complete my assignments. Afterward I try to make some free time for my friends. Basically when a student is making a routine for him/herself it is the same as time management. In my college I take a college success class as it states, “this
It is said that “Time and Tide waits for none”. As an upcoming college freshman I need to understand the value of time to succeed in life. I have to understand that everything needs to be prioritized no matter the case. That being able to manage my time correctly will teach me discipline which is exactly what I need to get through college with the goals I have set for myself. Individuals who stick to a time plan are more likely the people who realize their goals and objectives within the shortest possible time span. This will help me get my work done before the deadline instead of working on it the night before.
Self- Discipline and scheduling effectively are critical factors when it comes to successfully managing your time. Having self-discipline is a vital necessity, when you are preparing for college success. Deciding to study for an important exam, or hanging out with friends, will need to be carefully decided. If you chose the obvious, Studying, you'd eliminate unwanted stress like, cramming days before the exam. Being self-Disciplined means you have control over your behavior and you do not make decisions on impulse, instead you make your decisions logically. Accomplish everything you can complete today and do not put it off for tomorrow. Creating an effective schedule will be a helpful tool when it comes to your college success. In order to plan
Fear itself is seldom a cause of trauma in everyday existence, but having to face close-range interpersonal aggression is a traumatic experience of an entirely different magnitude (Grossman). During the initial outbreak of terror while everyone is scrambling to save his or her own life, survival mode kicks in and an individual starts to plan on saving one’s self. The need to be a powerful motivator drives an average person to do what any normal person would consider unthinkable. Abandoning monsters plaguing the entire world, helping others in need, or deciding to save one’s self is a decision that will be made. The decision to save one’s own life will bring a person to question his own humanity while discovering the benefits of self-
Being the logical person that I am, surviving a population growth of zombies at my school would not be a real struggle. Other students my age would not hesitate to either hide in the most sophisticated of places, or run with gusto, and scream with all their might, chainsaw in hand, as they try to defend their fellow classmates. I, on the other hand, would take the better mannered approach. As a teenager, I have been taught all of my life to make new friends, and always be polite. So there would be no hiding for me. Instead, I would be socializing. Zombies aren’t dead and the chances of being killed rather than turned into an undead human by people that you know from school, walking dead or not, are slim. There is no point in living a life as
Survival and disaster preparation are relevant in the stories in the novel. Several interviews, especially those from the United States, focus on policy changes designed to train the surviving Americans to fight the zombies and rebuild the country. For example, when cities were made to be as efficient as possible in order to fight the zombies, the art of using real places and locations to describe these disasters, or when the ultra-rich hide in their homes, which had been turned into fortified compounds, they were overwhelmed by others trying to get in, leading to mass slaughter. Throughout the novel, characters demonstrate the physical and mental requirements needed to survive a disaster. There were so many disasters that can be related to the outrageous earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcano eruptions, etc. Zombie apocalypse can most likely be a reality through the spread a deadly virus. Brooks described the large amount of research needed to find optimal methods for fighting a worldwide zombie outbreak.
Time management is a problem for both non-traditional and traditional students. Non-traditional students who have a lot on their plates. They normally have children, husbands/wives, bills etc. They have a lot riding on getting an education. Which is motivation for them to strive to be the best at in their studies. Whereas traditional students are not used to having to get up on their own, and not depending on their parents for everything. “It is harder for traditional students to deal with the transition because they are starting to figure out what to do with this new found freedom.”
Reading the 1st chapter of Guide to Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse or The First Year of Teaching, I had the following impressions.
I have recently adopted a new routine to life since I graduated high school. I feel less concerned about the amount the time that I have to complete assignments and less stressed about balancing my work schedule and my class schedule. College has already proven to be less structured than high school, which gives me more time to focus on work for only four classes instead of eight. The way that the entire semester is printed on a syllabus is also a relief, because now there is a printed version of what and when things should be completed. I like to have structure because it makes me feel like I have my future in control. The way that I keep myself feeling structured is by keeping my surroundings and responsibilities organized and familiar.
People have always thought out a plan for a zombie apocalypse, but most people don’t overthink it like I do, and in my opinion overthinking is going to save my life. I have thought of a full proof plan that will keep me alive for a full average life for a human. My plan consist of traps and strategies that will be remarked as clever and witty.
If a zombie apocalypse broke loose during school hours at St.Labre, The key to survival is to go to your house right away. I would get the best guns for a zombie apocalypse. Furthermore, I would get all the food at my house. Finally, I would get vehicles ready and go to towns and loot grocery stores and gun stores.
There where once four farmers out on a one hundred acer ranch living in an two white and red ranch house, living a happy life. The farmers name was Billy and he had a wife named Jill along with there two children Anne and Little Johnny. They where a really happy family, never fought or argued they just all got along. But one day Anne and Johnny where fishing in their pond and Johnny caught a fish, so he brought it to Jill to fix for dinner. When Jill cut the fish open she then noticed that there was a a cold grayish, blue, bloody finger inside the fish, she was stunned yet confused.
As we drove down the deserted road we heard gun fire. I drove up a little further, and in the back of a large clearing, I noticed a group of several survivors open firing on a mass of about twenty biters, none of which had hit the ground. The crackle of gunfire continued to drift up towards us
As the years go on its becoming hard to turn on the TV and not see a show about zombies. It leaves people thinking that if a zombie apocalypse really happens what is the best location, shelter, and weapons to use. I think the best way to survive to a zombie apocalypse is to be in a big city in a Walmart and the best three weapons to have is a gun, a steel bat, and a knife.
College freshmen who hold the skills of managing time should not be required to take an effective study skills course. Students with more control over their time are satisfied with their life and would be less likely to change it in anyway. Encouraging students to be happy with their lives is much more important than requiring them to take an effective study skills class that will not satisfy them. College freshmen that are satisfied with their lives are academically intelligent, have a high self performance, and GPA. The repetition of waking up early also engages conventional time management, in high school, students have the habit of waking up early to make it on time to school. Waking up early is a form of controlling time effectively
How I manage time is a reflection of what I value. Managing my time corresponds to how successful I will be in college and throughout life. Knowing and setting priorities to meet goals, carrying out plans, taking control of time, and staying focused are some events that are involved with time management. For many of us, balancing school with work and family is the greatest challenge involved with prioritizing. Good advance planning will help in meeting these challenges. Staying focused is usually difficult, especially for first-year students. Staying focused entails remembering and dedicating to the most important purpose for being in college. Sacrificing unnecessary commitments and keeping my
