Alcohol has been around for years. There has even been a point in time when it was safer than water. As time passed the drink evolved and so did the problems that followed. Addiction, severe health problems, violence, rage, crimes, and even death have been the outcomes to those who fall victim to the beverage. Although the simple solution would be to just ban alcohol all together, I believe adding a system that puts a regulation that can help limit the negatives things caused by it.

When it comes to teaching teens how to drive, parents are understandably concerned. MADD Canada reports that car crashes, often due to inexperience and immaturity, are the leading cause of death for teens. In addition to this, parents can feel frustrated if their teen resists taking direction and ignores common sense safety precautions. Below explains four ways to help you teach your teen to drive while maintaining your sanity.

The horror stories continue to increase, the lives of the innocent are silenced in one moment, and no highways are safe to use to escape this trauma that has taken the country by storm. The trauma that has caused so many lives and so much tax money is drunk driving. Drunk-driving is not only dangerous for the driver of the vehicle, but also for the passengers and everyone in proximity of the driver 's path. If the penalties are raised for drunk-driving offenses, all of the horror stories of crashes on highways and the loss of innocent lives can be prevented and the frequency of other alcohol related criminal activities would decrease dramatically because the deterrence from the laws would be more effective and have a wider audience.

Impaired driving is a very serious issue, not only in the United States, but all over the world. There is a growing problem with impaired driving, drugged driving is increasing while drunk driving is decreasing. The toll of impaired driving on society is sad and should not be taken lightly, people die or are involved in traumatic crashes due to an impaired driver. Ways to combat this crisis is changing every day and the way people view impaired driving needs to change. Many people say they would never get behind the wheel after being impaired, but people lie and research shows that. There is a growing problem of impaired driving that is taking a serious toll on society and the ways to combat the issue is slowly evolving to address the issue.

Marijuana, like alcohol, undermines the driver's judgment and consequently is unnecessary. Marijuana is the most illicit and illegal drug that is being used and detected in drivers that are impaired, detected in fatally injured drivers, and detected in the crash victims of a motor vehicle, that is why our concern for drugged driving, which is driving under the influence of drugs that acts on the brain could “impairs one’s motor skills, reaction time, and judgment, is so important and crucial” (Drugged Driving). Also, according to the article, it states that, “it is illegal to operate a motor vehicle if there is any detectable level of a prohibited drug, or its metabolites, in the driver’s blood” and “studies conducted that 4-14% of drivers

Although, these campaigns are great, but there was one that stood out to me that may be very effective in bars. I first saw this video on YouTube and caught my attention very quickly and thought to myself, this might really work. Many studies show that about 50 billion dollars’ worth of alcohol crashes occur a year (“Drunk Driving”). Alcohol messes up communication pathways that affect coordination and response time to the body.

The most common reason why people drink alcohol is to relax, however drinking alcohol more than they should, will lead to problems such as alcohol intoxication and alcohol poisoning. Drinking alcohol responsibility means limiting yourself to a certain number of drinks as well as not getting drunk and preventing alcohol from controlling your life. If you are going out to a bar or restaurant with people, it is recommended that you drink with people that you know and avoid drinking with people that will encourage binge drinking or look down on you for not drinking a lot. Drinking and driving is a sad and destructive action. Someone could die from this and sometimes it's not the one who is drunk. Everyday 28 people die in a drunk driving accident, the cost is of alcohol related injuries is 44 billion dollars. In 2014, 9967 people were killed in a year from drinking and driving. This problem is far too common, especially among the young. Despite numerous attempts to enforce the slogan "don't drink and drive" into the minds of people everywhere, it can often fall on deaf ears. A person needs to understand this message early and needs to be exposed to it often. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Today, only one in every three parents have discussed a clear “no use” message about alcohol behind the wheel with their children. The problem is not just going to vanish into thin air. There needs to be some sort of action. If not, the problem of alcohol use while driving will remain a problem for people of any age. What people don't seem to understand is that one cannot make a good and informed decision

The generality of impaired driving is amidst high school students; due to drug use, drinking and driving, and texting. It is sad to say that drunk driving is very common in today’s world, it is especially common in teenagers. Teens would go to parties and drink and get behind the wheel without thinking about the consequences that lie ahead. They do not listen to those movies or information about drunk driving and they usually think that something like that could “never happen to me”. Me being a teenager myself I know how we think. That is why I think drunk drivers should be jailed, even for a first offense. Teens will think that if they get behind the wheel drunk for the it will be okay because it is only their first offense. That should not be the case for something this serious.
