Abortion is not the solution to your problems. Murder is not acceptable“[in] regard to innocent human existence” (Judie, Evangelisto). Only “God should decide who lives or dies, and that applies to the ‘preborn’ as well as the born” (Judie, Evangelisto). Ever since the 1973 Supreme Court case of Roe vs. Wade legalized abortion, it has been an extremely debated issue. Still, legalizing something doesn’t necessarily make it morally appropriate. This is the circumstance with abortion; therefore, it should be illegal since it is unethical, violates human rights, and is a form of genocide.
First and foremost, the practice of abortion is unethical by any standard. Abortion violates all I stand for as a Christian. Isaiah 49:1 warns, “Listen to

All living things have the ability to respond to their environment. All living things have the ability to reproduce. All living things have the ability to adapt. “According to this elementary definition, life begins at fertilization” (Association of Pro-Life Physician).
In essence abortion is labeled a form of genocide. Throughout history there have been different forms of genocide. When Germany was trying to invade neighboring countries, they collected many Judaist groups and sent them to death camps to be murdered or worked until they fell ill, and died. “Genocide is viewed worst of the worst” (Hunt, Meredith, and Eugene). Genocide is committed when a whole part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, are killed out (Hunt, Meredith, and Eugene). Many nations have many forms of genocide, and others may be broader or narrower than other nations determining on religion and ethnic groups. According to the French definition to genocide stating that “[G]enocide begins with the recognition of targeted groups of ‘national, ethnic, racial and religious’ but adds, ‘or of a group determined by any other arbitrary criterion’” ( Hunt, Meredith, and Eugene). Which labels abortion a form of genocide by, “the group of human beings intended for destruction “in whole or in part” is determined by size, age, degree of dependency, location, level of function and a vague, and an imposed condition of inconvenience ” ( Hunt, Meredith, and Eugene).

Nowadays, in this world, there are a lot of problems that can make tremendous conflicts for human beings. They are very complicated and bring a lot of argument and nobody knows what the exact answer is. They also have pros and cons. One of the most complex problems is abortion. This is due to moral and ethical values which we all have. The majority of us are Christians or are brought up in that kind of ambiance which means that as small children we were taught values that are based on the bible such as that famous phrase “Thou shall not kill”. This phrase relates to this topic because an abortion is the murder of a human being.
Women may have an abortion for a variety of reasons, but in general they choose abortion because a pregnancy at that time is in some way wrong for them. “Abortion is the removal of a fetus from the uterus before it is mature enough to live on its own” (Kuechler 1996). When this happens spontaneously we call it a miscarriage. Induced abortion is brought about deliberately by a medical procedure that ends pregnancy. Legal abortion, carried out by trained medical practitioners, is one of the most common and safest surgical procedures. “About 1.5 million American women choose to have induced abortions each year. Less than 1% of all abortion patients experience a major complication associated with the procedure” (Kuechler 1996).
The issue of abortion is one of the most sensitive and controversial issues faced by modern societies. This issue leads to topics of whether abortion is right or wrong, if it is the actual killing of a person, and what actually defines the moral status of a fetus. In this paper, I will be arguing against Bonnie Steinbock, who believes that abortions are morally acceptable. So I will be supporting the view that abortions are not morally acceptable.
The abortion controversy has been debated for years. The presidential election this year has become very involved with this topic. On one side, John F. Kerry, along with third party candidate Ralph Nader, the pro-choice supporters, sees individual choice as central to the debate: If a woman cannot choose to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, a condition which affects her body and possibly her entire life, then she has lost one of her most basic human rights. However, George Bush feels the complete opposite. He thinks having an abortion is unethical and unjust. I agree with Kerry. The government has no right to interfere with a mother’s decision and trying to deny abortion to any woman is denying that mother’s civil
Marquis contends that abortion is impermissible, he expresses that executing adults isn't right since it treacherously denies them from their potential future and fetus removal is denying the fetus of their future, in this manner fetus removal is impermissible. "The loss of one's life is one of the best misfortunes one can endure." (p. 367). He goes one to state, that it is indecent however there are uncommon situations where it may not be. In agreement to Marquis contention, I trust that abortion is unethical in light of the fact that the baby can possibly be a feasible piece of society, the embryo is a living individual, has a privilege to life.
As a Christian, I am aware that the act of Abortion is clearly immoral because it clearly goes against the 6th Commandment “You shall not Kill”. Many respectable medical journals such as The Lancet, states life start at contraception and abortion of a fetus is the act of killing.
Abortion defies the word of God. First of all, it is clearly stated that God told us not to murder. It is stated in Exodus 20:13, “You shall not murder”. It is a part of the Ten Commandments, which is directly given by God in Mount Sinai. This shows how important those commandments are that we must obey it. Not only does the bible mention murder in the Ten
Over several centuries and in different cultures, there is a rich history of women helping each other to abort. Until the late 1800s, women healers in Western Europe and the U.S. provided abortions and trained other women to do so, without legal prohibitions. There were many different ways they attempted to do this procedure; such as a pennyroyal tea, which according to Thorpe, is toxic at just five grams. They believed that jumping and kicking yourself in the buttocks would also make a women have a miscarriage. Sitting over a pot of hot onions, and using camel saliva, ants, and deer hair was also a popular way to have an abortion back then. In today’s society abortion has become a major social issue that will never be resolved. It is a topic that some people avoid in our society. They would rather pretend it does not excite than recognize it as part in our society. The two advocacy groups that stand firm in their moral beliefs are conservatives who stand for pro-life and liberals who stand for pro-choice. They do not take this issue lightly, there has been countless debates about whether it is murder or not. However, it always ends the same way with now solution. There are four major points to look at when discussing the issue of abortion, legal precedence, human rights, religion and when life beings. It is important to look at what functions do these point play in society and what conflicts it has in society.
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. Since 1973 abortion has been an important controversial issue within the United States. 1973 marks the year that the famous Rowe versus Wade case was decided before the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled that abortion be legal and available to all women. Legal abortions can be performed up until the sixteenth week of pregnancy, after sixteen weeks most doctors or clinics will not perform the procedure unless keeping the baby presents a medical risk to the mother. Even in these situations abortions are very risky after sixteen weeks.
Religion wise, abortion offends God himself and his creation. It is murder and a sin to kill what breaths life and grows.
The argument of abortion has been raging since the Supreme Court case, Roe vs. Wade, in 1973. This court case has divided the country into two factions: pro-choice and pro-life. Pro-life advocates argue that abortions are murder and extreme levels of child abuse. While pro-choice advocates believe abortions are a justifiable means to end pregnancies. The pro-choice argument is that the fetus is not yet a human being and its rights should not override that of the mother’s.
Abortion has been a very controversial subject over these past few decades. Every time you pick up a paper or magazine it seems there is always some protest regarding abortion, whether it be for fetal rights or women's rights. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica the definition of abortion is "the expulsion of a fetus from the uterus before it has reached the stage of viability (in human beings, usually about the 20th week of gestation). An abortion may occur spontaneously, in which case it is also called a miscarriage, or it may be brought on purposefully, in which case it is often called an induced abortion." This paper will focus only on those abortions which are considered to be induced and will
Abortion is wrong. This is a bold statement for a twenty-one-year-old, white male raised in a middle class home, and one that I am not at all comfortable making. It is not just that the debate over abortion is so heated, or that I fear being labeled a Bible-beating fanatic. I am uncomfortable because the issue of abortion is mired in uncertainty. We all know that child abuse and rape are wrong. Under no condition can rape be justified. This is simply a fact that we all accept. The problem of abortion, on the other hand, is not nearly as straightforward. As pointed out by Frederick Turner in Abortion Can be a Moral Sacrifice, pro-life people can be sure that late-term abortions are murder. However, the same
Abortion may be one of the most ongoing disagreements throughout time, some may consider this act as wrong such as specified in this quote by Mother Teresa: “The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.” Abortion not only murders an unborn child, causes guilt for the mother’s decision to end her pregnancy and may cause problems to the mother’s health; abortion is irreversible that child will not have life. Some women having an abortion can suffer from damage to the uterus, internal bleeding including having pieces of the baby left inside her body causing difficulties. By means of ending the pregnancy, the mother may
Abortion is the surgical termination of a pregnancy. How odd that people are able to define something, that is such a controversial issue, so easily. There are hundreds, thousands, and even millions of things to say about abortion. When it comes to abortion, I find myself thinking like a symbolic interactionist. Abortion is a personal social issue and it needs to be seen on a micro level first. Although abortion can also be seen on a macro level, seeing abortion on a micro level lets people see the different symbols of abortion. No social condition creates the same symbol. If abortion is seen on a macro level, all the myths and stereotypes of abortion seem more realistic. For example, some of those myths
