Abortion As Cruel As Murder

Abortion is never an easy decision, but women have been making the choice for thousands of years. It has become a large dilemma since 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court passed a law making the procedure legal, and an even larger controversial issue. The controversy is divided into “Pro-Choice” and Pro-Life” views. Pro-Choice supporters believe that the woman should have to choice whether to abort or not. Pro-Life supporters believe that it should be illegal to abort and preformed. However, there are many ways for this procedure to be performed. Abortion still remains today a controversial issue, by who should determine if it is the right thing to terminate a pregnancy or not and by how the procedure should be preformed.

Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. Many people believe that women should get to decide what she would do with her body. The definition of abortion is; “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth”. Abortion is one of the most controversial topics today. Although there are two sides of the debate pro-choice and pro life, arguments are mainly centered around the Roe v. Wade decision, women’s rights and state restrictive laws.

The controversy surrounding abortion has been long debated since the Roe v Wade case (1973) as pro-life advocates and pro-choice advocates go neck to neck on whether the process should be banned or remain legal. According to APA (American Psychological Association), abortion is the “medical or surgical termination of a pregnancy and is one of the oldest, most common and most controversial medical procedures”. To be Pro-Life means to be against the termination of a fetus; one who is not in favor of the practice. Pro-life advocates believe a woman should continue the pregnancy and deliver the baby no matter the circumstance. Pro-choice represents those who believe the woman deserves a choice to carry the baby or have an abortion. Although the 1973 Roe vs Wade case legalized abortion, abortion is still currently a much heated debate in America as the surgical procedure is possibly on the verge of becoming illegalized. However, abortion should definitely remain legal for various reasons such as individual freedom, victim protection, life opportunities, failed contraception, and it is not fair for the government to make such crucial decisions for a woman’s life.

“One in three U.S. women will have an abortion in her lifetime. In America two percent of women between 15-44 will get an abortion each year.”(Sharples) Abortion is the act of stopping a pregnancy intentionally, so that the child is not born. Abortion is controversial due to it being a morally and ethically gray area. The most important question is whether or not abortion is morally wrong. If morality wasn’t enough, we then have to ask ethical questions. There are two main groups in this debate: pro-life and pro-choice Pro-life believes that intentional abortion is wrong, while the pro-choice side believes that intentional abortion is acceptable in some circumstances. Due to this controversy abortion has become a popular topic in the debates of the masses.

However, it’s reached it's supposed peak during the 21st century. In the mid-to-late 1800s states began passing laws that made abortion illegal. The safety procedures of having an abortion have drastically progressed, through the years, but people are still questioning the ethics on whether it should continue to be practiced. When abortion is discussed people usually choose between two standpoints. Pro-choice is defined as advocating legalized abortion, and Pro-life is opposing abortion and euthanasia.

Abortion is not only cruel but it is murder. Abortion is the act of killing a human pregnancy. The act of killing a human being is illegal and wrong. Life begins at conception. Unborn babies are human beings, and they have the right to live. Abortion should be illegal because people around the world people are killing innocent babies. If abortion clinics continue to close down and the government makes more laws and restrictions about it, then abortion will become illegal around the country.

The definition of abortion is not as simple as the debate over the abortion issue. A statement is never censored in the aspect of human life, but simply left open for awareness. A defenseless baby, who has not yet had the chance to breathe and function as a human being, is frowned upon by many unsupported abortion advocates. However, the reflecting opposite is just as responsive. It is a female's right to appoint what happens to her body, and she should not feel compelled to if she decides not to bring a child into existence. So many questions can arise by such a serious debate, but we must look at both views of the issue to better apprehend it.

As a very sensitive issue, abortion takes the center stage for controversy. Some people are against the idea of abortion while others are in favor. Those who are against say that abortion is like committing murder, as it entails killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born. In my view, abortion has to be considered from which stage the fetus is in. In the very early stages, I feel abortion is not murder, but if the fetus has developed viability, it can be considered murder.

Abortion is the most common way to get out of unwanted or unplanned pregnancies. Abortion is also one of the most controversial issues and one of the most heated moral debate in the United States today. An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy and expulsion and death of the fetus generally before it is viable (capable of independent life). Human pregnancy typically lasts anywhere from 38-40 weeks, and abortions are almost always done within the first twelve weeks of pregnancy. If a mother can kill her own child, then how can we tell other people not to kill each other? Abortion is unethical due to the awareness, surrounding pregnancy and the viable alternatives available.

Abortion is one of the contentious issues and mostly discussed problems of human life. According to the statistics provided by the World Health Organization there are an estimated 40-50 million abortions in the world each year, that is approximately 125,000 abortions per day. Some countries banned the procedure of abortion, while others have put no restriction on the provisions relating abortion (Makenzius, 2012, p. 11). Therefore, nowadays there are different debates around this concept that divide into two ethical positions: pro-choice and pro-life. The basic question in this debate sounds like “Are you for or against abortion?”, or with another words "Are you pro-choice or pro-life?" Consequently, there are people who advocate a right to

Although abortions are an expression of freedom for women to choose what happens to their body, some argue that it is taking one’s life away and should be considered murder. It’s easy to say that an unborn child has no opinion nonetheless there is still controversy on whether abortions should be banned or not. The option to terminate has been active since 1973, in the Roe V. Wade court case, when abortion was enacted and protected by the Fourteenth Amendment (though in many states there are restrictions, consequently causing more protest). Some women use this opportunity when there is a posed threat to the mother’s life or to the unborn child, meanwhile others use it for social reasons like being too young, not feeling ready, and so on.

Some people say that abortion should be illegal. Some people say that abortion should be legal when women’s life are endangered. Whereas others say that abortion should accept in some circumstances. This topic is still a controversial issue now in the world. Although the technology is advanced in modern society, women could nurture the fetus outside their womb, it does not mean abortion is safe now. It might be have a lower risk of death than before, but abortion still hurts women’s health and emotions. In general, abortion could be a way of birth control and it also is a personal right for women, yet, abortion is murder which kills living life; it destroys woman’s fetus that could no longer be pregnant in the future; it also makes women depressive,

In the united states, it was stated in the supreme court judgement that abortion was made legal in a landmark 1973 known as the Roe v Wade case. This situation has been going on for years. Abortion is basically the termination of pregnancy. It is when the fetus is removed before it is viable. This procedure is normally done before the fetus is 25 weeks old. In some countries, abortion is legal while as
