When touching the subject of abortion, one must consider that there are two sides battling for control. That is right, abortion has literally turned into a war zone where even the unlikely of individuals do the unthinkable. Each side has their motives and methods for contradicting the other. For instance, there are cases and events that support both sides of this issue.

Many individuals fail to understand the sheer magnitude of bloodshed, tribulation, and despair legalized abortion has initiated into the human experience – both in the United States and worldwide. Far more human lives have been violently ended by this immoral decision than any other war or genocide in history. It is one of the most controversial issues in today’s society. Abortion is the intentional decision to murder a human fetus by chemical, medical or surgical procedures. Those who support the rights of abortion argue that women should be able to decide what can be done to their bodies, yet the unborn baby inside a woman is a living being, and terminating that pregnancy is the equivalent of murder. These innocent children should not be held responsible for your mistakes. Don’t terminate pregnancy now, because you may not have children in the future at all.

According to Guttmacher institute only thirty-nine states in the United States require a licensed physician to perform an abortion while forty-six states have the right to refuse to do an abortion. Also many laws affect minors a well as thirty-seven states require some type of parental notification. Also when looking at who is generally getting these abortions, women in their twenties are account for more than half of the abortions that occur and also most women that are receiving these abortions are single women. Also taking a look at the financial situation of many of the women getting an abortion forty-two percent of women are living below the poverty threshold. There are also many contraceptives to prevent one from having to have an abortion such as birth control pills, condoms, and other contraceptives. However when all else fails abortion has held strong for women in America when they are not ready to provide for a child or cannot. These statistics show how important keeping abortion legal truly is in the world.

If life begins at conception, abortion should be considered murder. How can society permit the taking of a precious human life without consequences? An astonishing 1.06 million babies were killed in the United States alone in 2011. This major issue must be talked about no matter how uncomfortable it may be.
