Abortion : Pro Life And Pro Choice

Out of all modern social controversies, perhaps the most heated controversy is that of abortion. In today’s society you are either a Pro-life or a Pro-choice, there is not a middle ground. Pro-life are individuals who believe abortion is immoral and should be stop for the wellbeing of women and unborn babies. In contrast, the Pro-choice individuals do not necessarily promote abortion, they just believe women should be the ones to make decisions over their bodies and health. Although the two main sides of the abortion debate have concerns for human life, pro-life activists worries more about the fetus and morals, a clear difference from the pro-choice that worries more for the women and their rights. Based on the points I explored, the pro-choice arguments are stronger than pro-life arguments. Most of both groups arguments comes from peer-reviewed researches from well-known sources to support each individual concept. Effects on women,socio-politics, and fetus are some of the main point of conflicts between the pro-life and pro-choice advocates.

Women’s rights have always been underestimated. One aspect of women’s rights that receives a lot of attention is reproductive rights. Often times, people think of reproductive rights and automatically think of abortion, but, reproductive rights can include many things like abortion and birth control/ contraceptives, etc. Although reproductive rights are for both men and women, women often have a harder time exercising their rights. The famous 1973 case of Roe v. Wade made history in women’s reproductive rights by legalizing abortion, its efforts for abortion to not be criminalized were reached and allowed women to receive abortions without being criminalized. Yet, since 1973 there has been many efforts that set up undue burdens which have strained the rights of many women. There have been many social groups that work towards both side of the spectrum of reproductive rights like: Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Campaigns, which work as political or social organizers that strive towards achieving a particular thing or area, have made the efforts to fight for the reproductive rights that they believe in. Furthermore, there are many key campaigns that work towards a specific aspect of reproductive rights. As of today, Abortion has not only been unethical way to prevent life, but every day is thought to be the reason why stem cell research hasn’t progressed as much as it has. Abortion not only makes stem cell research seem unethical, it shows how much curiosity a human has that could make it unethical. Most individuals know this. What many don’t realize, however, is that it’s also the number of babies that are killed everyday by a legal murder: Abortion. That’s 3,000 potential lives, hopes, and dreams that are cruelly put to a halt by the person who is supposed to love them most; their mother. All simply because they are unwanted. Every single day. And I can almost guarantee you that not even a single prayer is said for them. Abortion, as defined by The National Right to Life Organization, is any premature expulsion of a human fetus, whether naturally spontaneous , as in a miscarriage, or artificially induced, as in a surgical or chemical abortion. The topic has been highly debated for centuries, and it is very likely that the opposing sides, pro-life and pro-choice will never completely see eye to eye or understand each other’s perspectives. Regardless, I stand before you today as a pro-lifer. I strongly believe abortion is wrong, not only because of it’s immoral and unethical aspects, but also because life is a privilege, and nobody, especially a helpless unborn infant, deserves to have that privilege taken away from them.

Abortions can be the hardest thing a woman can ever have to do. Many women have abortions not because they want to do it, but because it is something that has to be done. I know this because I myself have had one done. I sat around for four weeks deciding if it was really for the best. Looking for high paying jobs and low costing apartments.
