The Smolinski family in Bread Givers was a typical immigrant family who faced struggles during the assimilation process. By looking at Sara and her father¡¯s perspectives that there is a gap of cultural differences and generational differences separated between them, where most immigrants¡¯ family faces. Adjusting in a new country is not easy. I studied in India from elementary to high school in hostel separate my parents as they were in America. But I knew that India was a country where I have my own culture and it was easy to adjust and suddenly my life took a big turn when I get to know I got the visa for America and I have to do my college in abroad country where I have to adjust in new culture, new people, new environment.

I have a new coworker at my office named Jorge who is from Central America.
