Before Adolf Hitler became known for being the famous German totalitarian dictator, he believed that he was destined to be a world famous artist (“Adolf Hitler” American). By exploring the early, median, and final years of the life of Adolf Hitler, one can begin to fully understand the disappointments that filled his existence. The disappointments that Adolf had experienced throughout his life started during the early early years of his life, beginning with his childhood and continuing throughout his adolescent and early adult years. Hitler had always said that he had a terrible childhood, though in reality his childhood was actually quite comfortable (“Adolf Hitler” American). The beginning of World War 1 started a new chapter in the life of Adolf Hitler. At the start of the first world war Hitler had no intention of being drafted for the military, so he decided to flee to Munich, Germany to avoid service in the Austrian army (“Adolf Hitler” American). He was then arrested and brought back to Austria (“Adolf Hitler” American). Hitler was then forced to take the physical exam for the military and was deemed unfit to serve (“Adolf Hitler” American). Eventually Hitler decided to volunteer for service in the Austrian Military (“Adolf Hitler” UXL). He served in the “Sixteenth Reserve Infantry Regiment of the Bavarian Army” (“Adolf Hitler” American). Hitler spent the majority of World War 1 on the front lines, because his role was to run messages between the different trenches (“Adolf Hitler” American). Near the end of the war, Adolf was temporarily blinded in a gas attack while in the trenches (“Adolf Hitler” American). This injury helped to influence the rest of his life (Wiesel). Hitler did not discover this party on his own. A higher ranking military official had assigned him to be report on the activities of military regiments that were believed to be losing their focus (“Adolf Hitler” American). He was told to report specifically on the German Workers’ Party, eventually renamed the Nazi Party (“Adolf Hitler” American). Hitler started to sympathize with the party as he became more familiar with the inner workings (“Adolf Hitler” American). He decided to join the party, and slowly worked his way up to becoming the recruiting officer for the entire party (“Adolf Hitler” American). He became very good at what he did, and then became the leader of the newly renamed Nazi party in July of 1921 (“Adolf Hitler” American). Hitler started to do a lot of public speaking in order to recruit people for the party, and he became very good at being able to charm people that he wanted support from (Wiesel). The main message that Hitler had while he was speaking to crowds was that Germany had been betrayed (“Adolf Hitler” American). He named off the groups of people that he happened to dislike as the traitors that caused the German depression; these included Jews, liberals, socialists, pacifists, and the people that still held a belief in democracy (“Adolf Hitler” American).
