1.) I would suggest the success of afterhours clinics and urgent care facilities in many metropolitan areas because environmental factor that would lead a company having an in house medical facility would be a large number of employees working in the facility, economical cheaper to treat the employees in an in-house facility that to pay for treatment elsewhere. After hours clinic and urgent care facilities success of metropolitan areas is due to the fact that is very convenient to go to the clinic after work, gives an open schedule to patients to make an appointment after their work, instead of missing a work. Urgent care centers are to treat patients that do not need to go to the ER but requires after hours emergency or immediate attention.
Carol drew the patient, her daily draw sheet shows she only drew a pink tube for the T&S and totally missed the BMP. Both labels should have printed out in Howdy same order number, location is good and both were entered as send patient, Carol just missed it. I talked to the patient and this is pre-op lab work which I thought couldn't be done any sooner than 3 days before the surgery. I told the patient I would double check with his doctor to confirm if they really want the results 2 weeks early but either way I will re-order it and call the patient back if his doctor wants the results
Northwell Health has partnered with GoHealth to instate urgent care centers throughout the tristate area. GoHealth is an existing organization with locations throughout the country, their partnership with Northwell Health has developed new locations to meet the needs of the communities currently served by Northwell Health. Urgent care units are designed to be accessible and convenient; becoming a part of the community. In the past, patients did not have an option but to visit an emergency room, the development of urgent care units offers an alternative. The idea behind urgent care units is to shift the notion that emergency room visits are for all injuries; only severe injuries should be treated in an emergency room. Such units reduce the crowdedness
While private hospitals tend to be the preferred choice because they are not as limited in their budget and are known for quality service in which patients receive individual care
What was the most impactful thing you learnt from your clinical placement? What did you find most challenging?
Over a seven hour period including set up and breakdown of the clinic process on any given day the team can see up to 100 patients. The team will see all patients that have registered at the beginning of the day. The clinic is a process where a patient is registered on arrival, waits in the designated area, is allocated seen and seen by a clinician, assessed by clinician, given either education or medication or both, a health plan and discharged. If need be the patient can be admitted into the LTL patient portal for follow up if team wants to continue care post clinic. The product that is output by the process is healthcare.
On March 14, 2017, I will be undergoing an outpatient procedure. I am requesting to use a combination of my days off, sick leave, and annual leave from March 14, 2017 to March 21, 2017. After this initial recovery time, I am requesting to return to work in a light duty capacity. The restrictions that encompass my work restrictions are no unnecessary lifting greater than 40 pounds, straining or other strenuous physical activity.
This 48-hour experience makes me addicted to eating ice cube, and even drink liquid that can not do without ice. I never thought that people would be so addicted to a thing so quickly, and it would have been unknowingly. Assume that the ice is "drug of choice", it has two disadvantages. First, as long as you take it will continue to rely on it. Second, the impact on the people around you, others do not understand you even feel your behavior is very strange. Once you are forced to rely on one thing, you will want a variety of ways to get it.
With the diminishing reimbursement of the healthcare and the growing demand of consumer, the significant portion of the healthcare delivery shifts from the in-patient environments to the outpatient facilities as well as to the offices of the physicians. The office-based procedures are also called the Wild West of the healthcare, and it continues to advance in high pace with around 12 million of the procedures carried annually (Yoo et al., 2015). The office-based environs provide the improved access together with the convenience of the providers and the patients. In addition it offers cost-effective as compared to various practice settings. Moreover, the office-based practices are not subjected to the similar state, local, and even the federal regulations in comparison to the hospitals or the centers of the ambulatory
Since it was the first time that a 48-36 or 36-48 hour schedule was implemented within Dispatch, some tweaks were made to ensure that we were all following the City’s policies and procedures; for example, we had to adjust how lunch was taken and whether or not it would be paid. Scott and Susan had voiced concerns about working by themselves during the last week of April (Josh Bogart was out and Lena worked night shift), Energy Control Supervisor talked to both dispatchers and advised that the change was only temporarily and that plans were made to cover SCADA and phone while they went to lunch.
Lastly, by expanding the availability of housing, the community's population will certainly grow. With the increase in population, will the city, state and federal government and private enterprises meet the district's growing needs? For example, will there be additional law enforcement officers to patrol the neighborhood? Will there be new schools, especially a high school for the children in the community (in light of constant budget cuts for education)? Will the existing utility lines (water, gas, electric, and sewer lines) be able to meet the expanding demand of the community? How will the medical community handle the increasing demand for acute medical care? And lastly, is there going to be enough child day care or adult
Recently our Medical Office Procedures class worked on a project that required us to keep track of how we spent our time for an entire week. This was a great project and showed me exactly how my time was divided up. While I would not say my time management is strong, I do feel as though the time I spend on my education is well spent.
practice, so their patients are receiving the best care possible. All the areas I have listed above use
In the last 5 years, the Healthcare clinic has altered clinic operating hours at least five times due to cost issues. This has led to a high turn over rate as employees felt that they cannot keep up with the scheduling requirements and expectations from corporate. Employees felt that there was no work-life balance with corporate mandated scheduling. In 2012, when the clinic was short of Nurse Practitioners, clinic closures were inevitable, which in turn led to loss of revenue. This led to the inevitable workforce reduction in 2013 which put the Health care clinic at the bottom rank financially.
The provision of care in the pre-hospital setting is often delivered in conditions that are unpredictable and chaotic, the primary step in scene management relies on the first assessment of any immediate physical dangers including the general environmental impressions; the location, position and general appearance of the patient and any bystanders; the obvious signs of illness; and the activity and awareness levels of the patient. As a primary care provider attending to the patient, it is important to focus on our own safety as the highest priority. When responding to a dispatch call it is necessary to consider all information provided to assist in your risk assessment even prior to arriving at the scene. When entering the situation focus should
Hospitals can be very complex organizations; there are many components that make a hospital successful. The way the hospital is represented within the community, and what the hospital does to make its services and presence be known, play a major role in the success of the hospital. All employees and affiliates play a crucial role in the daily, monthly and yearly functions. Who better to have in line to contribute to the success of a company than those who are on the front lines delivering the service? There are many measurements that are used for monitoring the quality of an establishment’s performance , which drives the success of the facility in line with their goals and mission.
