It was the second week of Junior year for the unfortunate threesome of Alexander Hamilton, Hercules Mulligan, and Gilbert ‘who can remember the rest of my 200 names’ Lafayette when it happened. Soul mates were imbecilic in Alex’s opinion, and he didn't keep quiet about his say on it. He had never had any other person’s writing appear on his arms, although it would be hard for anyone else to tell with how many notes he took on his own skin. He tried not to complain about the ‘system’ to much around his best friends though, since Hercules and Laf were each other's soul mates and were fully fooled by the idea that the soulmate system worked. Alex hadn't always hated the idea of soulmates, but then his dad left his mom to fend for herself and ultimately …show more content…
I haven't met them yet….” He pulled his hoodie a little tighter. All the eyes on him were starting to make him nervous and he didn't want anyone to know what he hid. Before he had moved to New York and this school, his classmates would bully him for all the writing on his arms, since he had told them he was gay, and his dad hated it. He called the words to flowery, and had said it's not respectable for there to be writing on him especially not from another fa****. As soon as it was legal his father had shipped him off from South Carolina to live with his grandmother. “Ah, well I wish you the best of luck. See Eliza and I are soulmates, and Herc and Laf are as well.” Maria told him. John was quite shocked when he was told that his friends were gay. He had never had any friends like these. He glanced back at Alex, who was starting to head back to his work. “You don’t believe in it?” “Ha, of course not. There's no such thing as a perfect relationship. Soulmates are a load of bull.” Of course, Alex couldn't help but be a little excited that John didn't have a soulmate yet, even if it was all crap, it meant the cute boy was available. John sighed a little. “But doesn't it sound amazing? Don't you want to find the one person you were made to spend forever with? Your other half?” “No. I wasn't made for anyone else! It's all a load of crap. Anyone who believes in it has their head in the clouds!” At that Alexander left the lunchroom, not wanting to get in a debate with the gus he thought was
There are many characteristics that could impact one’s life in a negative way causing them to lose everything in life such as selfishness, messiness, untrustworthiness, self-righteousness, or ego. In the award-winning musical, Hamilton: The Revolution, by Lin-Manuel-Miranda, the character of protagonist, Alexander Hamilton may be described in many ways. However, one character trait stands out among the rest. The main character trait of Alexander Hamilton, self-righteousness, shaped everything about his life: how he grew up, how he dominated in debates, and even how he fell from grace. Hamilton always stuck by his ideals, not caring whether it affected other people. These traits led him to lose and gain
“[T]he man on the ten-dollar bill is the father of the American treasury system, a signer of the Constitution, one of the primary authors of the Federalist Papers, and the loser of the infamous duel with Vice President Aaron Burr. Alexander Hamilton's earlier career as a Continental Army officer is less well known. Yet Hamilton's first experience in public service is important, not only because it was the springboard to his later career, but because it also deeply influenced his values and thinking” (Hamilton).
Conflicts always happen as when people discuss with different perspective of views, especially within the parties of politic. Likewise, the spilt into the Federalists and the Democratic Republicans is the most well-known above them all as the result from the disagreement from the two brilliant politicians: Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. During George Washington’s presidency, he pointed Hamilton, as the Secretary of the Treasury and Jefferson, as the Secretary of the States in his cabinet. Despite the worry of Washington of damaging the unity, Hamilton and Jefferson had so much objections in each other’s idea of a modelist government they desire to be. As a result, in the end of Washington’s presidency, they declared to separate into the Federalists, leaded by Hamilton and the Democratic Republicans, leaded by Jefferson. Although both of the parties all wanted the best for the United States, like their leaders, the parties has so much contradict believes in the government power, the economy and foreign relations but with so less similarities.
[1]One thing that makes Alexander Hamilton unique compared to several people of his time, is that he did not have a sizeable span of schooling. [3]Interestingly, Alexander’s birth date is not known for sure, but most believe it was January 11th, 1755. [1]He started working as a clerk when he was somewhere between 11-13 yrs old, and left that job in 1772. [5]When Hamilton, who was a hard worker, quit being a clerk and decided he wanted to gain knowledge, so he joined a school in New Jersey. [2]After he left the academy in New Jersey a few months after he had enrolled, he knew he had gained the knowledge he needed desperately to join a college. [6]He joined King’s College, in NYC. [4]Awaiting fame and success eagerly, he left King’s College
So who is Alexander Hamilton besides being the dude on the $10, the best-looking founding father? He was George Washington’s chief of staff during the revolutionary war, and he was our first treasury secretary. But before that, he was an immigrant, he was born in Caribbean. But he came to our country, and by sheer force of will and intellect, changed our country
"I met both Alexandru and his wife...ah lifemate." Desiree corrected herself. "It's hard to believe we are expected to find our soulmates here. Perhaps I should ask them how they knew. What's it feel like to..." she smiled shyly and bit her lower lip. Desiree felt silly for being so unsure about the idea. Finding a soulmate, or as Razio put it a lifemate was the point of the whole show. But how did someone honestly know if they loved someone in such a short amount of time? She supposed it was a good thing Alexandru was an honorable man, considering how much trust everyone seemed to be giving him.
In early 1790, Alexander Hamilton presented an idea that initially established the National Bank. While Hamilton’s plan was the best solution to the financial difficulties the United States faced, it received a large amount of criticism. Thomas Jefferson vehemently objected to Hamilton’s proposal mainly regarding the constitutionality of the National Bank. In this paper, I argue that Alexander Hamilton’s proposal for the National Bank was better than Thomas Jefferson’s because it created a path to a self-sufficient economy, potential for a thriving economy, and expanded the interpretation of the Constitution.
In 1790, the United States was becoming one of the largest and fastest-growing entities in the world. At this time, the United States consists of 15 states with a population of roughly 3.6 million citizens. Of course, eventually each state would be required to have representatives to delegate for the people. Two years later, two of the most influential people in the history of the United States; Alexander Hamilton, the first U.S. Treasurer and Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States both clashed to find the most efficient way to assign either 120 or 105 Representative seats to the 15 states.
Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s greatest statesmen, was born January 11, 1757. Although his achievements are too vast to summarize in a short blog post, here are five highlights:
Alexander Hamilton was selected for this project because of his involvement in our countries beginning and because he is known as one of our founding fathers. Hamilton was a major author of the Federalist Papers, the first Secretary of the Treasury, a member of the Constitutional Convention, founder of the Federalist Party and thought by many to be one of General George Washington's most trusted advisers. As impressive as his professional career may be, both his personal and professional life would be shrouded in mystery and turmoil Along with the normal, biographical information associated with traditional research papers, discovering the little known facts about Hamilton proved to be interesting, dramatic and thought provoking. If the main stream media were in existence during this era, it is very likely Hamilton's name would have been splattered across the tabloids and breaking news
Alexander Hamilton carried the labels, illegitimate child, immigrant, and orphan. Unlike most people, he let this motivate him to rise above his given life. He had to make a name for himself. To receive the credit another man was given, he had to work ten times harder. He was also in the right place to do this, America during a revolution. The revolution inspired change and more acceptance. Hamilton’s ideas for a new form of government were accepted because of how desperately they were needed. To get his ideas across he made friends with other hard workers and revolutionary men. George Washington, the first President had more influence on Hamilton’s life. He gave Hamilton a role in the new country, securing his place in American history.
In 1776, a man by the name Alexander Hamilton came to the United States for a better life. His life turned upside down when he met Aaron Burr. After meeting with Aaron Burr, he began to fight to unite our country and to create the United States. He succeeded and is recognized as one of our founding fathers. However, this wasn't his only life changing experience. His turning point in life was when he had an affair with another woman, Maria Reynolds. After two years of sleeping together, he publicly published a pamphlet speaking about the affair. Hamilton could not be president because of the affair. His wife was distraught by this entire incident. The situation only gets worse because it was under Mrs. Reynolds’ husband knowing consent.
Alexander Hamilton’s vision came closer to becoming a reality in the 1820’s. By the 1820’s, the Embargo Act, War of 1812 and the Panic of 1819 played a very important role in the reshaping of our countries economic development and scope and power of the American government. The conflict between Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton visions was necessary and made a huge impact on the American development. The main topics of conflict between Thomas Jefferson was the type economy, how much of a role the government played in the lives of the people and how they felt about slavery and the growing black population in America.
“My ambition is so prevalent that I contemn the groveling condition of a clerk,” written by Alexander Hamilton, age 12, on November 11, 1769.
“How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore…” These adjectives are direct references to Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton and the inception of the sensational broadway hit, Hamilton. The concept of writing a play on Alexander Hamilton originated from actor, rapper, writer, and broadway performer Lin-Manuel Miranda who introduced his work for the first time at the White House Poetry Jam in 2009. I was exposed to the YouTube video by social studies teacher and did not pay much heed. Along with President Obama, I chuckled when Lin Manuel stated that Alexander Hamilton’s life “embodies hip-hop.” But, the music began, Manuel began his performance, and it was explicit that he had truly captured the essence of a man who impacted our nation in
