A: In keeping with our procedures for special circumstances, individuals may apply for Alumna Initiation no sooner than five years from the end their collegiate experience in order to be considered. Q: What is an example of someone who would be eligible to join as an alumna member?A: Examples of alumna initiates include sisters, mothers, and friends who did not previously have the opportunity to join Kappa. University staff and active women within our communities are also great candidates. Anyone who believes in our ideals of friendship, mutual support, and lifelong learning may apply. Q: What fee standards would an alumna initiate meet : Alumna initiates would be required to pay an initiation fee of $175 in addition to their annual alumna dues. Like our current members, alumna initiates will also be expected to support the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation when possible. Q: Should they be required to retroactively pay what collegiate members accrued during their active years? A: No. We do not currently require special circumstance initiates to pay fees retroactively, so our policies for alumna initiates will follow the same structure. Since many of the costs accrued by our collegiate members relate to room and board and collegiate events, these costs would not be passed on to members who will not be participating in those activities. Q: Under the initiation section, it states "the chapter of her choosing." How will the chapter be involved in that process (e.g., working with the Marshal to coordinate with regular Initiation, etc.)?
