The United States had the belief that American settlers were meant to stretch from coast to

coast. In the 1840s, Manifest Destiny enhanced the western settlement and provided a motivation

for continued territorial expansion. It formed war with Mexico and Native Americans were removed

from their territory.

all they can. American exceptionalism is the thinking that the America is superior. We are too

good to follow rules, which gives us a unique character of the world.

Manifest Destiny continues to have significance for the United States and the rest of the

world. We continue to try to see the world in our image. Everyone has their own perspective on

the world. One aspect of Manifest Destiny was the idea that we had the best culture and

government in the world. This thought made us want to spread out and take more territory. It is

as we want most of the world under our culture and government. Today, we don’t have the right

to more land, but we still have the best culture and government. We influence all other countries

to be more like us. This is one of the reasons many immigrants come from different countries to

be under the best. This can be seen as evidence that the idea of Manifest Destiny remains with
