The American Revolution is a very significant event because it was the birth of a new country and independence from another. The American colonists fought very hard for their freedom and for the future and rights of generations of Americans to come. Many documents that guarantee rights and freedom of Americans. Because of the Declaration of Independence America is it’s own country and because of the Bill of Rights we have many wonderful freedoms that are unalienable like freedom of speech and freedom to practice whatever religion we want. There were different countries that aided the colonists’ efforts to become free of Britain’s rule. One the international governments who offered their support to the colonies was the French ("France Allied”). On February 6, 1778, Benjamin Franklin signed the Treaty of Amity and Commerce and the Treaty of Alliance which allowed the colonies and France to trade and allowed France to …show more content…

Germany offered Britain offered it’s support in the form of 30,000 troops, these troops were called Hessians ("Hessians."). The British treated the colonist poorly in many different ways such as the Stamp Act, Tea Act and Quartering. On March 22nd, 1765, Britain placed a direct tax on the colonists on documents such as legal papers, magazines and newspapers and money collected for this tax went toward to British instead of the colonial legislations(“Timeline”). On March 24th, 1765, the British parliament passed the Quartering Act which caused British soldiers to stay in the colonies at the expense of colonists (“Timeline”). The Tea Act was passed by parliament on May 10th, 1773, and it called for only Tea from the British East India Company to be imported to the US (“Timeline”). Which caused the British East India to become a monopoly because they were only company supplying tea which in turn angered the colonists ("The Tea
