American Revolution Research Paper

The American Revolution was the most important event to ever take place in this country. This war took place from 1765-1783 and involved Great Britain and the United States of America. Without this revolution, the colonies would have never gained independence from Great Britain and the United States could still be under their control. However, this revolution did not occur without a cause, early Americans fought for independence because of unfair treatment from England. There were many causes to the Revolution including high taxes, unfair laws, and even colonists being killed.

The American Revolution set the ground work for a major change in the New England colonies. It was a time of significant governmental changes on political and social levels, and a growing ideology on the obedience of a women and the dissolution of slavery.

The American Revolution was a political separation between Britain and the original Thirteen Colonies. It occurred between the years 1765 and 1783, resulting in a lot of bloodshed and casualties. With tension building between the two powers, the revolution was a battle that formed what America is today. The Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre, and the many taxes imposed are factors to what lead the colonists to form together and fight Britain. The reason why America won against its former owner is because of the alliance with France, the knowledge of the terrain, and the determination that the soldiers had.

The American revolution took place in the time frame of 1765 and 1783. The reason was because of the feud with the thirteen American colonies and the British government. The Americans went to war with the British and won their freedom, but how much actually changed for the Americans?

The American Revolution which took place from 1765 to 1783 was a direct result of the colonists’ anger and displeasure towards Britain. Colonists rejected the British monarchy and overthrew their aristocratic government, forming the United States of America. Essentially, the 13 colonies organized together because they rejected the authority of Britain and the country’s ability to levy taxes and impose unjust laws. Protests began to escalate as the colonists took part in the Boston Tea Party in which they destroyed consignments of tea from the East India Company. Consequently, the Intolerable Acts were imposed by the British, and the colonists responded by forming an alternative government to stage their resistance. The war was finally set in

The change of American ideas between 1763 and 1783 became more anti British as colonists became increasingly ridiculed by British forces and enraged by their actions. They were uncompromising with their taxes and abused the colonists with their military forces. Starting in 1764, there was a stream of many taxes set in place including; the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and Townshend Acts. These made the colonists angry, but there was more. The quartering act and Boston massacre were both actions of the British forces’ brutality and uncompromising behavior.

During the time period from 1775 to 1800, thirteen colonies were fighting for their independence from Britain. By declaring their independence from Britain, Americans were on a long journey towards freedom, which would later be won even if it damages the relationship between the two nations. During the time of the American Revolution, American women’s roles changed because they were given more responsibility. Americans were expected to provide for themselves because they could no longer rely on Britain economically. The newly freed Americans had to come up with a successful government that also had to work to create positive external and internal relationships. Have you ever wondered how America got to where it is today? Well, the revolution from Great Britain is a big part of how we are. After the French and Indian war, Britain started to tax the colonies huge amounts of money. They weren’t respecting the colonists economic. This soon led to anger from the colonists and then a revolution.

In the year of 1776, the colonists of America declared themselves independent from Great Britain. Five years later, the Americans defeated their English tyrants in the Battle of Yorktown. This era in American history was named the American Revolution. But was this event revolutionary? In the 1700s, the only forms of government in Europe were absolute dictatorships or monarchies. Both systems did not give the power to choose their leader. And any power given to the people was reserved for white men of rich families only. Was this new country, the United States, really so unique? Yes, the United States of America was revolutionary for its time, because it changed is views on some social groups and politics.

Post the American Revolution, the Articles of Confederation (1777) became the rulebook that filled the vacuum of power that the British regime left. However, the Articles of Confederation was not a powerful enough document for the United States hence the founding fathers of the country once again convened and created the Constitution of the United States (1787). Even though many founding fathers of the nation aimed to abolish slavery, they were unable to due to the need of unification. Despite this, many of the people in the nation including many of the founding fathers started to develop their dislike towards slavery through the abolitionist movement. The American Revolution, although was unable to abolish slavery completely, was able to kick start abolitionist movements which eventually led to the freeing of slaves in 1865.

but later, with the introduction of the constitution, developed into a revolutionary society. The American Revolution greatly transformed America. America signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This was the start of the Revolution because America stopped all the unnecessary taxes that they were liable to pay due to the French and Indian war.

Halfway through the 18th century The French and Indian War was fought between British America and New France in their attempts to colonize North America. In order to keep British colonists safe, King George III of Britain had to invest large amounts of money in supplies for his military and colonists which would led the British government to extreme debt. In order to recover from his debt, King George began taxing the colonies without consent. The American Revolution was a series of events in the 18th century caused by disagreements between the English Parliament and British citizens in America. Along with taxation without representation, the American revolution was triggered by acts of rebellion and unfair enforcement by the British government.

The American Revolution, the war for Independence is the war that changed the world and the way it looks at political ideas. Many historians ask the question “was the American Revolution really Revolutionary?” The American Revolution influenced many of the rebellions in Europe. The Americans provided the rebellions and the world with many new ideas of freedom, rights, and social change.

On March 4th, 1776 Washington moved his army to Dorchester heights because it overlooked Boston. He placed his cannons and troops on Nook's Hill, which overlooked General William Howe's army. As the general awoke the next morning, he saw how the patriots were positioned and decided to retreat from Boston to Canada. This was significant because it forced a large British army out of Boston. This affected the colonists because now the place were the rebellion started was now in the hands of the Patriots.

The reason I chose the American Revolution as my topic was mainly because to me I thought it was very relevant subject to speak upon and not many of us have knowledge of how we even became the United States of America. Basically the American Revolution was one of many steps taken to develop our democracy type of government that we do have today. Also it tells about how the original thirteen broke away from the British harsh government taxes. To be honest I chose this topic simply because it was and I’ve done a report on this back in grade school. These are the causes that led up to the war (not the signing because its already prior knowledge)
