America's Role in the World

The United States has been a super power for decades, and since America has always involved themselves in other countries' problems. Instead of isolationism, the country has practiced getting involved. Since the Monroe Presidency, America has been named the World's police force. Dispelling anarchists, and stopping coos, the united states portrays itself as the world protector. Since Monroe, some Americans have felt that isolation is the way to go, and most feel that it is our right to offer assistance. Two recent incidents, Operation Desert Storm and The War in Bosnia have allowed the United States to show off it's strength, both on the military and political level. It has also given the chance for America to evaluate it's foreign policy,

After receiving a charter from the British Massachusetts Bay Company to settle across the lands of current-day Massachusetts, and abandoning his manor lordship in English, John Winthrop would declare towards those settles of the Massachusetts Colony that "We shall be as a city upon a hill,". The idea of American exceptionalism is an idea that has been dated back towards the time of settlement, and that could be traced into the current twenty-first century. When we trace this idea from beginning to end, one is able to see that American exceptionalism was a good thing for the world as a whole. By analyzing the spreading of the American political ideas into the European nations, and how American acted as the defense against tyranny, one will be able to understand the reasons why American exceptionalism has created good in the world. Additionally, there will be discussion of the pro-team of the team, the process of their research, the reason why they lost, and what could be improved.

For years America has been seen as the world’s hero swooping in and saving the day from foreign bad guys, or at least that’s America sees itself as. To many other countries however America is often seen as the world’s bully or just a nuisance. America has its fair share of issues on the political agenda. Debates about taxes, gay marriage, health care, and gun control are all major issues that come up in Congress during almost every session. There is one issue, however, that has been debated since the early colonial period, before the United States of America was even a country. The issue of immigration is not only one of the most heavily debated topics in Congress; it is one of the most complex. It is an issue that affects both the nation’s foreign policy and domestic policy. America is, at its core, a nation of immigrants. This melting pot of people from around the world is what has caused this nation to be so successful. Unfortunately, the current immigration system that America has is in need of a complete overhaul. A comprehensive immigration reform package would be beneficial all across the board. The benefits to the economy would be immense, especially in times like these with America’s struggling economy.

The president of the Unites States has a variety of special powers and privileges including those granted by the Constitution, implied powers, along with the powers granted by the Acts of Congress. These powers are not available to any other branch of the Unites States Government. The job of being the president is balanced by five main constitutional roles. These are the Head of State, Chief Executive, and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Chief Diplomat, and the Chief Legislator of the United States. (Bardes 324)

It is a great honor to be a citizen of the United States of America. This is due to the fact that in this country, people are blessed with many freedoms that other places do not have. Some of these freedoms include freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and the right to vote. People should be very appreciative that God has provided a place where freedom prevails.

America has a long and rich history. Today, the majority views the United States as the most democratic and civilized country in the world. It is one of the largest economies on the planet. Additionally, it has massive social influence over other nations around the globe. It is for this reason that United States’ opinion is important in the formulation of global policies. The US is a world leader in several areas and has significant influence over global organizations such as the United Nations.

The United States has arguably been a nation which has changed the world multiple times since its foundation when they declared their independence from Britain in 1776. After the 18th century the US has been involved in several conflicts, not just within the country, but also in foreign lands. And today, America is still a powerhouse in both military and economically. And lately, USA has been stamped as aggressor and as an egoist country only caring for themselves.

During the war, many visions of America's postwar role began to emerge. One of the key roles that began to emerge was the idea of equality for all. Americans established that Americanism rested on toleration of diversity and equality for all, while the enemy's philosophy was racism. So, by the end of the war the new immigrant groups had been fully accepted as loyal ethnic Americans, rather than distinct and inferior "races." Another idea of America's postwar role, was brought to light in 1944 when the president called for an "Economic Bill of Rights." Franklin D. Roosevelt proposed to expand the government's power in order to secure full employment, an adequate income, medical care, and a decent home for all Americans. Already ill and preoccupied

The main flaw with this point of view is the assumption that, because America has a strong grip on world economy and politics, it is ethical for her to take control of world affairs. The reality of the matter is, America’s massive wealth and military force does not necessarily mean that the government of the United States is wiser than the rest of the world. Rather than abusing her power, America should focus on being a team player and promoting democracy at home and abroad through allying themselves with countries holding similar values. I took it upon myself, as a freelance writer, to write an optional essay about the level of my responsibility to America. In the beginning America was mothered by England. Writers expressed how they felt about America, who America was, and what it meant. The writers all had different points of view, but many thought America would be or should be on her own. Writers like Thomas Paine, J. Hector St. John De Crévecoeur, and Thomas Jefferson thought America was strong enough to be independent. Between 1765 and 1790, the contradicting ideas of writers surrounding the definition of America built the identity of America through the argument stating that England was no longer America’s mother country.

     America has been a world power for as long as anyone can remember. But how did it become what it is today? Through decades of racism and greed! Our country is one of the most racist country’s there has ever been! But without it America would be nothing like it is today. Slavery made America and racism made it grow. America has proven itself to be a selfish, greedy, and racist country.

Today, America has to justify their acting like a world’s policeman, that they want to fulfill their mission to bring freedom all over the world.

In today’s concern for global security, it’s expected that government employees and officials treat sensitive government information and data with the utmost security. Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State (2009 - 2013), failed to take the initiative by securing her governmental email account. Thus, she potentially exposed thousands of sensitive emails from government officials regarding the Benghazi raid which may be potential security issues. After the email scandal was leaked in 2015 to mainstream media, Mrs. Clinton was in the middle of her presidential campaign. She has used several methods of influence and power to regain creditability of the public and her constituents.
