In today’s concern for global security, it’s expected that government employees and officials treat sensitive government information and data with the utmost security. Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State (2009 - 2013), failed to take the initiative by securing her governmental email account. Thus, she potentially exposed thousands of sensitive emails from government officials regarding the Benghazi raid which may be potential security issues. After the email scandal was leaked in 2015 to mainstream media, Mrs. Clinton was in the middle of her presidential campaign. She has used several methods of influence and power to regain creditability of the public and her constituents.
To begin, the presidential nominee has used rational persuasion to answer questions of public concerns relating to the email scandal. Her explanations have tried to persuade the media “with reason, logic, or facts” (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013, p. 433). After turning over work related email to comply with a congressional subpoena, she has stated “the server was initially set up for former president Bill Clinton for his home office, adding that it was a guarded by the Secret Service and had numerous safeguards” (Spiering, 2015). The logic for using the secure server from her residence was to give “her aides more control over her email records” (Diamond & Labott, 2015). In fact, the discussion concluded that the former Secretary of State’s Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice “both had personal email accounts
As many know, Hillary Clinton has been exchanging confidential emails on her private email domain and private server for years. Clinton is not fit to be the president of the United States. There have been many scandals such as the Benghazi issue with Clinton in the past. She may as well be lying about her whole entire campaign. These are not new, they have been going on for many years.
Economics, national security, and democratic values were all factors involved in explanation of United States’ response to Japanese and German aggression. To the superior degree, economics did not surpass the national security and democratic values. The United States are acknowledged for their freedom and equality, therefore their democratic values are a focal precedence. Meanwhile, our nation’s wellbeing is essential to use consequently the national security is foremost aspect in the response to Japanese and German aggression. America sought to be isolated at one point and avoid going to war with other countries for the protection of our country, but then the Pearl Harbor attack occurred. Bearing in mind the attack the Japanese put upon us, we entered the war which triggered these factors to take place, we insisted on spreading our democratic ideals. The aggression that the German and Japanese placed with us managed to make us secure our nation, preserve our nations self-governing principles in mind, along with the economics involved. It is said that if the French and British strength weakens, “…the United States will find itself alone in a barbaric world…” it is continued by saying that dictators all agree “Democracy must be wiped from the face of the earth” which exemplifies that America insists on spreading their democratic views and building their national security. Although there are many candidates in the presidential campaign of 2016, we citizens focus most on Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. They both make efforts to demonstrate ethos or credibility in their presidential bios. Furthermore, they both stress their reputations/expertise and authority to persuade the people that they are worthy to lead the nation. As Republican Secretary of State Henry Kissinger had stated in Hillary’s bio, she “ ran the State Department in the most effective way that I’ve ever seen.” From this feedback, she showed that she can work under the conditions of the government and still go over expectations. This is a valuable skill that is claimed useful for a president and in the end, she is capable
As I write this book, Democratic and Republican candidates are getting in position to run for the President of the United States in 2016. Hillary Clinton was the first Democrat to throw her hat in the ring and right away the Republican Party began attacking her for using her personal email and business email together.
Over the course of American history the United States military has been in need of more able bodied men to fight for the security of the nation than it has had. George Washington needed men during the Revolutionary era, George W. Bush needed men after the events on 9-11, and the next president will need men to continue the fight on terrorism. America has been reactive in their efforts to maintain a well-regulated military by only calling upon healthy abled bodied men during time of war. When in fact, America, should have been proactive by keeping a well-trained and well-staffed military on hand at all times. Every able bodied male should serve at least four years in the United States Armed Forces because the United States need protection at any given moment. The security of the United States is more important than ones right to choose to be in the Armed Forces. The rights of the people of the United States will not exist if there is not enough able bodied males to protect those rights. Of course non able bodied males should be excluded from this. A law to force every male to join the Armed Forces would go too far.
Clinton told the press that, "she preferred not to carry two phones,"(Bradner). She decided to create a personal email and send top secret Federal information out of pure laziness; and this is the woman running to be America's next president. "Voters say they distrust Clinton,"(Bradner). As a result
The moment Hillary became the secretary of state under the Obama administration was the exact moment where the email scandal began for Hillary. She wanted her work related emails to be put into a
During the Democratic presidential debates on Tuesday, frontrunner Hillary Clinton was backed by her fellow Democratic contenders, most notably, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VA), who remarked in response to Clinton 's e-mail flap, “Let me say something that may not be great politics, but I think the secretary is right. The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails.” http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/10/14/us-usa-election-democrats-idUSKCN0S70B920151014
The United States national interest should always be extremely individualistic and based solely on what is best for our country. The civil war in Syria is something that is grabbing the attention of nations all across the world. The question is, should the United States step in to the civil war in Syria, and if so how do we go about it? Should the United States join forces with unlikely allies in order to defeat Isis? The national interest is very difficult to define and everyone has a different definition to it. Professor Ferraro exclaims that “Some states may have an interest in securing more resources or land; other states may wish to expand their own political or economic systems into other areas; some states may merely wish to be left alone,” (Class Lecture, September 8, 2016). I believe that the United States should wish to be left alone, and only intervene in issues when they could affect America directly. The United States does have a national interest in the civil war in Syria in terms of security for our citizens; we should not allow Syrian refugees into our country at all until we completely destroy ISIS by teaming up with unlikely forces such as Russia and Assad. However, the United States shouldn’t be involved in the humanitarian aspect of the civil war in Syria due to the horrific national debt and the social issues we already have present in our country today.
Hillary Clinton has stated she received no classified emails and stated she only has deleted emails that she felt were personal.
And it seems that Hillary has gained another piece that she has to scrape off with the e-mail debacle. If you've been living under a rock here's a brief summary of the dilemma. When Hillary was still Secretary of State she was told to use only a government server when dealing with emails for work, which can possibly contain highly classified information. So she decided to use a private email server instead. When she was found out she was asked to hand over the e-mails to be placed under investigation, she handed over about 30,000 emails while she also deleted 31,000 other emails due to them being personal. After being investigated by the FBI she wasn't charged with anything, but was deemed "extremely careless" by the FBI director. 22 emails were said to hold classified information, and now some experts say that there's a high possibility of her server being hacked. Now was she being just careless or was there a more sinister underbelly. Some people find it suspicious that over half of her emails were deemed that personal that they had to delete them before they could be investigated. Could she be hiding something that we don't know about? Hillary's main defense is that she never broke a specific law, and that other Secretaries have done the same thing. She has also said that she merely used the server out of convenience and that she regrets
Hillary Clinton has argued that her emails were archived in the system because she was in the habit of sending them to other government employees with .gov email addresses. Under this practice, the State Department records management system would have captured emails from Hillary Clinton to a State Department employee, but it would not necessarily capture emails from Hillary Clinton to government employees in other departments or non-government employees or foreign dignitaries which makes her in violation of the NARA's rules in the Code of Federal Regulations because there are no records of all those
One of Hillary’s duties is to direct the State Department. The state department was under investigation because of the attack of the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya. The U.S. ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others were killed on September 11, 2012. The state department had “systematic failures and leadership and management deficiencies.” Clinton was scheduled to testify in December 2012 however she had contracted a stomach virus and then suffered from a concussion. Republicans thought the timing of her illness was very suspicious. She was in hospitalized for a while she recovered. On January 23, 2013 Clinton testified, she took full responsibility and officially stepped down of her post on February 1 2013. It did not end there she testified again on October 20, 2015. On both occasions, Clinton was cleared of any wrongdoing or participation. There was no evidence of her being involved or at fault. The media ate Clinton alive by stating her lack of control meant she not capable of sustaining a government post. (Harp,
“There is no doubt that our nation’s security and defeating terrorism trump all other priorities.” The quote by Arlen Specter stresses the importance of a strong and persistent security system in America. After the dreadful events on September 11, 2001, the issue of whether privacy or the nation’s security is more important arose in the United States. Even after fifteen years, this debate is still relevant in politics. Our nation’s security is more important than the citizen’s privacy because lives will be protected and saved, the average person has nothing to hide for the government, and privacy has already been breached.
Emails. Can she be trusted? Why did she have a private computer service set up outside the official system? Hillary has very often contradicted herself over the years. Saying she didn't believe in something and then later on saying she has been all for it. Hillary hasn’t had a mission statement that makes voters want to be on her side. Trump has “ Make America Great
