Amy, for as long as she could remember, always loved going to bookstores. Looking at all those shelves full of books she had yet to read and experience the stories written within, gave her sense of calm and excitement she could not achieve any other way. When she was reading, she felt as if she was being taken into another world, another universe, where she could be herself without the dreading fear of society judging her every move. She felt happy. Happy and not alone. But she knew that feeling would not last. It never did. She closed the book she was holding and placed it back on its shelf. She glanced at the clock that on the wall opposite her and swore quietly. The time was nearly ten and outside the window she could see it was
Some of the conversation consisted of us being very annoyed at the fact people could not pronounce Ryan Beatty’s name correctly.
It wasn’t like any other swim practice, no, not like any other I’d ever gone to. No one usually moved to Minot, North Dakota that was also in swimming, so when Emily Pitcher and her family moved to town and came to practice, it was quite a shock for everyone on the team. She moved from Colorado and she had 2 younger brothers and a younger sister as well. They seemed nice enough but there was something about Emily, who was my age, which seemed a bit off.
First of all I was in my dark room with the only light being my t.v, I playing Xbox with my friend Skylar, we were playing Rainbow Six Siege a counter terrorism shooter. It was a late on a dark, stormy night, it was bomb objective and only I was left on the team to face five other enemies defusing the bomb and I slowly and stealthy with his silenced pistol picked off about two enemies outside the objective roaming and then pulled out his primary the 416-C Assault Rifle and went in blazing in the objective and his heart was racing he picked off another two enemies and that’s when he began guarding the defuser waiting to find the last enemy. “Can you search cams Skylar?” I asked Skylar.
Bethany Hamilton screamed "I got attached by a shark". Her friend Alana, her dad Holt, and her brother Bryan rushed to get to her. Holt got there first, staring at her arm being gone, but stops because he knew if he didin't hurry she would die of blood loss. Bryan called 911, and waited for the ambulance. When the ambulance came, they rushed to get her to the hospital. A couple of hours went by, Bethany got out of surgery. After all the visits and stuff she asked when can she get back in the water? The Doctor said it would take a long time for her to get use to having only one arm. The doctor talked a lot but all she could think of was the ocean. Thats when she made a promise to be on a surfboard by Thanksgiving Day.
"If my men are too scared to return without Hannah Curtis, I will happily let Miss Curtis kill them. There is no room for cowardice in these ranks, boys. I, however, am no coward and an honorable warrior will let me go free back to my Queen." The Commander sounds disgusted as he raises his voice to address me, assuming I'm somewhere near him. Which is true, obviously, yet he can't be sure.
The sun began to creep up behind the towering pine trees as I sip on my torrid coffee. I glance at my watch which reads 5:45 am, I gather my tackle box that's overflows with hooks and line and stick in underneath the damp boat seat. The water glistens in the morning sunlight, I aboard the scent of pine needles which is always prominent the crisp air of Northern Wisconsin.
When I was six I wanted to be Hannah Montanna. When I was 12 I still dreamed of becoming a pop-star, but figured I could have a second job too – just in case. I’m seventeen now and I’ve have read Maya Angalou and Ralph Waldo Emerson; I’ve studied American history, marvled at astounding scientific discoveries, and cheered for political revolutions. I've traveled to different states and analyzed geological features for the aesthetic beauty and for the geological history. I've done many things, the logical step here would be then for me to pick; speak or forever hold my peace, but in all honesty, I don't know what I want to be. My six-year old self would say it's because I've seen too much, I think it's because I haven't seen enough. I want to
Anytime she reads an innovative book, she wants everybody else to experience the same story she adored. As a result, she is always lending out her books to her friends. Anyone who needs a dystopian or romantic book could probably find it at her house; she is identical to a miniature library. Many people her age despise reading because they think it is just uninteresting, or extra work. Hannah’s acts of sharing her books have turned people from book haters to avid readers.
I agree with you in your response to question three. The situation went on way too long. After the janitor was told not to come by the room and he then did it again, I would have called him in and issued a written reprimand for his personnel file.
Lauren and the others in her group are in a new situation; they have to survive out of the walls. Lauren said, "Everyone who's surviving out here knows things that I need to know... I'll watch them, I'll listen to them, and I'll learn from them. If I don't, I'll be killed. And like I said, I intend to survive" (Butler 173). She's always focused on adapting to new situations - but one key to that is learning from others and bringing a group together to support each other.
"Junior year is the year you find out who you really are." That's what I have heard from previous juniors in my two years of high school. I had started to believe they were right but didn't want to settle with it until it happened to me. I have been friends with Ally since we were pre-school age. We had briefly lost touch for the past few years but began to reconnect once we had more classes together. After her first day of softball practice, Ally came to me and said, "Kelsey, the new girl on the softball team, is just so annoying. Like, I can't stand her."
Running as fast I can to get to safety from the crackling fire. Everyone around me is scared some people are running around fighting and yelling all I hear is Ahhh. Others are on the floor crying and don't know what to do this whole situation is the scariest thing that ever happened in my life me myself is trembling inside all I'm trying to do is get to the lake.everywhere I'm goings building crumbling and falling all I hear is skirr boom I'm scared something's gonna fall on me. I walk down the street and I have seen a burned up dead body on the floor I can smell the burnt up flesh I was disgusted and scared. I asked myself will happen to me. I'm a couple blocks away from the lake I'm so happy. Then I turn around and see a shadowy figure
My friends, family, and to some extent, even strangers, have witnessed my love for books, in the simplest terms I’m a bibliophile. Why do I love books? Well, I subscribe to the belief that books are one of the world’s simplest pleasures. With strokes of a pen, or a succession of keystrokes, imagination comes to life. That is why decided to start my book blogging website - Dani’s Book Nirvana - a blog that is aimed at advocating for the written word, and all that it affords. Books have, in my experience, given me adventure, and have allowed me to experience all walks of life: male, female, young, old, alien, animal, even fantastical beasts. In short, they have allowed me to travel to all parts of the world, solar system, galaxy, and dimensions,
Lena was a waitress in a cocktail bar in South Dakota when she met the Winchesters, Bobby drove them her way and of course underestimated her but listening to her talk fascinated the both of them with her expertise and soon the duo turned trio. It didn't take long for the youngest Winchester to become engulfed with feelings for the girl and she too returned his mutual feelings. Granted she never expected her life to become full on hunting but for Sam, there wasn't anything she wouldn't
Amy sits in the driver's seat of the car. According to her father two o'clock on a Sunday is the best time to drive. It's 'too late for brunch and too early for barbeques'. Her hands grip the steering wheel tightly.
