Discovering the meaning, where does the meaning come from? Excerpt from Improving Your Storytelling, also reveals how the story can be described individually by the interpreted meaning. The meaning can be rewritten as the acronym ‘MIT,’ or the most important thing. The MIT can be represented through telling, and during retelling, it puts emphasis on certain areas and can represent a fake portraying of the story, I feel. However, there is no other way so let's move on. On the secondary chapter, it follows up with the first chapter. The substance of resolving and removing out the meaning, then highlighting the meaning is one major technique to be pulled away. This what most good storyteller does. The word highlighting is key. The premise of narrative therapy was developed as a way of removing the blame in sessions. This could allow the opportunity in hopes of gaining empowerment within the client. Narrative therapy is thought of as more of a collaboration between the therapist and the client to allow recognition of his or her natural competencies, expertise and unique skills that one possesses. By practicing the narrative therapy process it is conceived that the client can then return with a sort of plan or outline that can assist in guiding them towards more productive and hopeful positive changes within their lives. Humans are generally viewed as separate entities from that of their own issues at hand. This being said, humans take their problems and have way of either blaming themselves directly or tossing it to another directly, instead of matching the issues with the symptoms. We as humans need reasons for everything in order to compartmentalize our situations. It is just how humans are naturally wired.
We rotated the My Story posters pretty successfully except for one in Charlotte, NC and one here at my office in Birmingham, AL. These are two more incidents where paint peeled from the wall. The one here in Birmingham actually took off the top layer of drywall too. I have since covered the area up with another decal, but thought I should add this to the conversation now because it will be a problem when I take this one down.
Brandon Sanderson, one of my favourite science fiction authors once said, ““The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon.” (Sanderson, 2010). This was a saying that stuck with me throughout my love and passion not just for storytelling but art in general. The beautiful thing about art is that it creates a sense of emotion that you can interpret the meaning for yourself; there is no right or wrong answer. Whenever I am reading poetry or a novel, what I love most is that it makes my imagination go wild. I create an idea of what their voices sound like, what the characters look like, the setting, etc. Whenever I’m reading or listening to someone telling me a story I get to create my own art piece in my mind which I think as humans is one thing that makes us so unique is our abstract mind and the use of an conscious imagination.
A good story is intricate yet simple. Harsh yet subtle, bold yet restrained. A good story doesn’t sound like a story, it feels like a memory of your own life. Storytelling is the best form of communication, the best way to relate.
All books are the same. Each has its own cast of characters and a few select differences, but they still follow the same general plot lines and have similar endings. This is the basis of Christopher Booker’s work, The Seven Basic Plots: Why We Tell Stories. Booker separates literature and movies of all sorts into seven basic categories, each with its own skeleton plot line. These categories include overcoming the monster, rags to riches, the quest, voyage and return, comedy, tragedy, and rebirth.
Some of my strength, when it comes to writing are persuading, collecting ideas/generate ideas, and understand what the topic is expressing. On the other side, my weaknesses are organizing the paper, sentence structure, and grammatical error.

Humans are viewed as separate from their problems, and in this way, a therapist can help externalize sensitive issues. This objectification dissolves struggle and resistances and allows a client to address this issue in a more productive manner.
I find value in everything I write. The reason I find value in my writing is that all experiences with reading or writing provide me with more knowledge than I had before. I may learn new mechanics or improve my style. I am constantly looking for errors in my work and finding ways of restructuring sentences containing passive voice.
Why are people always taught to read a story for the deeper meaning and symbolism without ever concerning themselves with the actual writing of the story? Most authors, when writing a short story, put considerable effort into the most minute details, this allows them to control the environment, pace, and unique feelings found in their story. As the reader progresses through the narrative they skip over many of these details to take in the larger picture, this is only natural. But it would be ignorant of a scholarly reader to not revisit and take note of this deeper level of the writing, it would leave them oblivious to the thought and care that the author has put into crafting their work; this deeper level is far from just symbolism, it is
In this semester my achievement of improving my writing skills has increased significantly. My sentence lengths vary in a positive manner along with my word choice improving, becoming more complex and of writing expectation. My main struggle this semester would be the peer editing. Although I have improved significantly I still find it difficult to edit others papers. Further more than the common spelling and grammatical errors. I believe my essays have improved drastically from the beginning of the semester towards the end.
Retelling story assessment. Gina teacher will read a story aloud to the class then Gina will look over the story and tell the teacher what the story about. When looking back at the story, the person should being able to tell who, what and when. This will give teacher and idea as to how much Gina comprehends when she is reading.
In addition, here is what one of my clients said about my service: "Very good writer with very detailed
The quote "The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon" by Brandon Sanderson shows that stories have to told right. The storyteller is there just to tell the story or to make you pick a side or tell you what the lesson is or anything. The point of the story is for the listener to hear it and make their own sense of the story and see what the story means to them. Questions are a way to make the listener think and make their own answers instead of being told what it is and what to think. And if they get questions it make them more interested in the story because they will want to find out the answer. They will think more if they are trying to answer a question rather than being told the

Narrative therapy is one of the post-modern therapies used today. Narrative therapy helps individuals identify their values, skills, and knowledge they have to effectively face problems in their lives. The key ideas of narrative therapy are: people’s stories give meaning to their lives, stories are shaped by emotional themes, a person’s story shapes his/her personality, people seek counseling when their stories do not match their lived experiences, and people who have less social power benefit greatly from Narrative Counseling. The concern is with meaning making and there is an emphasis on mindfulness and positive psychology. The process of Narrative therapy starts in the initial stage exploring the client’s issues. It then transitions into the insight stage to a deeper understanding of the issues. The insight stage is followed by the action stage, where the client and therapist work to change the story and therefore change the outcome. Lastly, there is the termination phase.
