Even with these precautions, many parents felt the risk was too great. Attendance at Malala's school decreased by more than 60 percent.”(7) Another one for challenges is that they were so scared of the Taliban is finding out what they were doing that, people left the school or they were hiding to stay in school and learn. Introduction- The book I am Malala by Malala Yousafza is a unbelievable, fascinating and shocking true story about a young girl named Malala Yousafza, a 20 year old girl from Pakistan who stood up for her rights and education, and ends up getting shot in the head. Imagine being a seventeen year old girl, standing up for what you believe in. With also having the weight of grown men, who don’t like change on your back. You don’t pay them any attention and continue your goal. Until, the men get your attention and do something drastics. This was the life of Malala Yousafzai. The biography I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai and Christina Lamb is about, when a group called the Taliban took control over Pakistan, a seventeen year old girl named Malala refuses to be silent and stands up for women's right to get an education. In October 2012, Malala's right to life was almost taken from her. On her way to school, the Taliban boarded the bus and shot at her. Luckily, she was able to be saved and survived this traumatic experience. As she progressed, Malala continued to conquer her goal. Eventually Malala did it and conquered her goal and gave females a better chance at an education.
This is a conflict that happens with herself though. In addition to that, the main conflict that takes place is an individual versus the majority group which was the Taliban men versus Malala who confronted her after her successful campaign and motivating all the children to get education . Malala was a brave girl who stood for education but she still had fear like the rest of the teenagers her age. Malala feared even the shadow of the taliban men as she thought “Taliban men with guns would leap out...or throw acid” in her face, she sometimes imagines footsteps behind her even and she took many precautions which unfortunately did not help her when she really needed it (Yousafzai 237).The Taliban were against Malala’s idea of education for girls as it was a stand against their idea and they were known to be driven out of the town ever since Malala gained supporters but they came back, as the girls noticed military men wandering around. Taliban attacked the school bus she was travelling on her way back from school after her exam, they forcefully got on the bus with girls and asked one question “Who is Malala?” (Yousafzai 242) and before even she could answer , they shot three girls on the bus which gave her a whole new life after the tragedy.
