Select a non-discursive artifact such as a painting, a musical composition, a building, or a piece of furniture. Do the five canons of rhetoric—invention, organization, style, memory, and delivery—apply? If they do, explain how you see them manifest in the artifact.
The Capella University writing process includes four main parts. First, there is a prewriting, which allows the student to generate ideas of what the content of the assignment will be (Capella University, 2017). This step creates the audience and the purpose of the assignment. The next step is drafting the assignment, which allows the student to document the evidence that supports the main ideas (Capella University, 2017). This step is important because it helps determine if the evidence presented strongly supports the topic. The next step of the writing process is revising, which allows the student to make changes that will strengthen the content of the assignment (Capella University, 2017). Revising is another important step that
The process in which people think is different for everyone. Everyone has a different way of how they can focus or be creative. For writing, there are many different steps that each writer goes through in order to create good content. In the short story, “So, You Want to Be a Writer? Here’s How.” written by Allegra Goodman, she explains how to become a good writer. Also, in the short story she describes her writing process. Goodman’s writing process is similar to a lot of people's writing process. In a writing process, writers go to a certain location, brainstorms, and completes to write a satisfactory paper.
Writing a paper on the writing process is pretty hard. The writing process is different from one person to another. You come across questions like, 'What exactly is the writing process?'; and 'Must you follow one persons writing process if yours is different?'; This is where I came across the answer to my questions, write however you wish to write. If one person likes free write first and another person likes to write a draft first, let them do how they please.
I chose to do my analysis on the short story, “The Story Of An Hour”. The themes I see in this story is the quest for identity/coming of age, romantic/love, birth, and death. It is about a woman named Mrs. Mallard. She was an elderly lady and had a heart complications. Her sister Josephine and her husband’s friend Richards had to break the news to her that her husband, Brently Mallard, has been killed in a railroad disaster. Mrs. Mallard was sorrowful and sobbed in her sisters’ arms. After her grieving process, she wanted to be alone, so she went to her room and locked herself in. As she sat in the window, she seem to be calmer and accepted her husband’s death. She was not distressed of what had happened. She began to say the words “free” and her heart

However, my progress as a reader has significantly improved and changed during this semester. First, I learned to improve my critical reading skills through the in-class reading assignments. My professor provided very useful help in assigning us the first reading response question: “Summarize the main ideas of the reading assignment. What questions do you have?” I think that a combination of being able to understand, summarize what the text says as well as interpret its meanings is a helpful approach one can apply to better his or her critical reading skills. Therefore, I have applied this approach to any reading I had for this class and I am still using it for other classes as well. Secondly, I changed my reading habit after the third essay in which I chose a research topic in my discipline to write about. While doing the research, I noticed that I was also encouraged to become familiar with many different subjects in my discipline. The essay assignment was to pick a topic that I am personally interested in writing about. Coincidently, this was also one of the goals that I listed on the first class writing “read articles and

Then, teaching her son these harsh life lessons to ensure his survival in a society that is not welcoming to an African American man; act rationally, not emotionally.
