Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, MA. And died on April 17, 1790. During his 84 years of life he accomplished many things. Such as various inventions and the fall of the British monarchy. Though he was a hero in many different ways, he was also a very sinful person.
Ben’s most famous times of his life was during his political career. He started his political career as the Speaker of the Pennsylvania Assembly between May 1764 and October 1764. He was also the very first Postmaster General, between the times of July 26, 1775 and November 7, 1776. Most likely his most known career was when he was the sixth President of Pennsylvania. Franklin was also a well-known author, printer, political theorist, politician, freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, humorist, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat. He was also a major figure in the American Enlightenment and the history of physics for his discoveries and theories regarding electricity. As an inventor, he is known for the lightning rod, bifocals, and the Franklin stove, among other inventions. He facilitated many civic organizations, including Philadelphia's fire department and the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution. He loved his wine as he kept many champagne bottles, and Bordeaux in his lovely home in Paris. He also was a military leader as he lead troops in battle in the French-Indian war. Even with all these things he did he had only two years of education, he was a very brilliant man even with only two years of schooling! Franklin also developed an instrument that the great Mozart and Beethoven used. This was called the “Glass Harmonica.” His son William was also a British Loyalist.
